Chapter 5 - Babies Catching the Love Bug

Yachi blushed. Kageyama is oblivious to what he was doing. Hinata seems to have taken his antics to the next level with Tsukishima. Tsukishima is having a hard time handling their baby sunshine. The mom and dad, namely Suga and Daichi, noticed the warm auras surrounding the babies of the group.

"You want juice or water?" Kageyama asked Yachi.

"Oh, just water, please. Thank you." Said Yachi as she chomped down on her meat bun.

Kageyama stood up and got water and juice from the collapsible table set up by Tsukishima earlier when the snacks were brought up. Without saying anything, he put the drinks down at the study table, tapped Yachi's right shoulder, and signaled for her to stand up. He then placed her chair in a more safe position away from where she will be bumped into by people walking towards the cr. He then motioned for Yachi to sit back down. As he sat, he started discussing areas in Japanese literature where he is having comprehension issues because he is more of a "memorization" person.

When Tsukishima went back, he sat down again, ironically beside Hinata. Hinata is already contemplating if he went overboard and tried to appeal once again to his tutor.

"Tsukishima, please don't be mad 🙏🏻. I will help clean up after our study session hmmm?"

"You ate into my palm and licked me! Are you a dog?" Tsukishima retorted but was surprisingly calm already.

"I prefer a neko but, you... what do you want me to be?" Hinata teased., leaning towards Tsukishima.

"Wha—-oh my God! What the hell are you saying?" Tsukishima really can't handle Hinata today. Everyone is laughing because Tsukishima is losing his composure and have no decent clap back. Again, Suga and Daichi were silent observers of all of what was happening right before their eyes.

After a few more minutes, Daichi suggested resuming the study session.

The study session has ended and they are all getting ready to leave, each saying their thanks and goodbyes to Tsukishima's mother who is delighted with the group.

Tsukishima is bringing down the leftover food. Hinata is doing the cleanup and rearranging of the room to how it was. Yamaguchi is bringing the glasses and plates over to the sink. He was about to go back upstairs to get the rest when Mrs. Tsukishima stopped him.

"Hey, Yamaguchi, that orange ball of energy, Hinata is it? The one who stayed upstairs, is he a close friend of my son?"

"Oh yeah auntie, that's Hinata. He is our teammate but "friend"...? Hmmm well Hinata is trying to break down that wall of his. So at the moment, we can say that he is doing his best so Tsuk— I mean, Kei will consider him as a friend." Yamaguchi is hoping his answer is enough. He doesn't want to reveal Hinata's sexuality to his crush's mother.

"And you...?"

"What about me auntie?"... Yamaguchi stared at Mrs. Tsukishima for about minute who is also staring back inquisitively.

"You and my son. Where or more like, what are you?" Mrs. Tsukishima smiled teasingly.

"Ohhhh! ... Oh?! No no no auntie my God no. I promise you auntie I'm straight as an arrow. I cannot speak for Kei and we never talked about it though but it's none of my business. But but but I don't care either way because Tsuki is really close to a brother to me and his choice is his to make and and and ..." Yamaguchi stammered terribly while trying to explain to remove misunderstanding.

"Okay okay I got it, hey I'm sorry." Mrs. Tsukishima understood immediately and was laughing a little bit because he made Yamaguchi flustered. She was now tapping his shoulder to stop.

"Auntie, towards Tsuki, I am what you call a "squish". I have a platonic crush for him. I have a strong desire to be friends with him for a long long time but not in a romantic sense."

Mrs. Tsukishima nodded and went back to her chores preparing for family dinner. Yamaguchi however is still not over something so he threw one quick question to his friend's mother...

"Ahmmm, auntie, about earlier... when you asked me about Kei and me. Does it mean you are okay with it if it turns out that way? I mean if Kei or any of his friends will be like... Do you know ahmm different?

"Oh honey, I am not homophobic, if that's what you're saying, not one in this family is. Well if Kei turns out to be homophobic, I will beat his ass you know. But no, I believe love has no gender. That is why it's called soulmates, we connect through souls not by gender." She smiled and went back to cutting vegetables.

"Oh and tell those two upstairs, I am having you and Hinata for dinner tonight. No ifs and buts". She said this while pointing the knife upwards.

"Yes, auntie!" Yamaguchi laughed and went back to Tsukishima's room to help the two who by now can be heard having a little argument about a nonsensical issue.

Tanaka and Noya went quickly together to a nearby mall to buy some volleyball accessories.

Kageyama brought Yachi home and respectfully bowed to her mother who just came back from work.

Suga and Daichi were talking about their observation earlier. The baby manager Yachi and the youngest of the crows Kageyama are getting along well. Their baby sunshine Hinata, obviously, has a crush on their Saltyshima and keeps pestering him.
