Chapter 4 - Is This a Birthday Party?

The review sessions were set at every end of practice. Their locations were scheduled in between Yachi's place, Tanaka's, and Tsukishima's. Unofficially, the seniors are mostly focused on Tanaka and Noya, while Yachi is on Kageyama, and finally, to Tsukishima's dismay, he tutors Hinata.

"I would appreciate it if you keep my room clean as you found it. Yes, I'm a bit of a neat freak and like things organized. The comfort room is right over there on the left side near the door. Please let's make today fruitful." Pleaded Tsukishima.

Today, they are in Tsukishima's room. Tsukishima and Hinata reviewing on the bed, Yachi and Kageyama are at the study table, and Suga, Ennoshita, Tanaka, and Noya are on the floor with study materials everywhere. Daichi and Yamaguchi are supposed supervisors and check their progress now and then.

'How did I get myself into this mess?'

Tsukishima thought to himself. He just finished explaining a certain math problem and supposed formula to Hinata for the third time. Hinata is starting to get anxious and possibly scared because Tsukishima kept glaring and asking him "what part of it don't you get?"

'Arghhh... Why was I so weak to strawberry cheesecake?...'

Tsukishima enjoyed Hinata's cake that day. He solely devoured the dessert after his dinner despite constant nagging from his brother Akiteru who wants some. There's a certain creaminess to it that melts in your mouth and calms your soul...

"Tsuki...?", a small voice interrupted his dessert-dreaming.

"Can you check if I got it right this time please?" Tsukishima locked with Hinata's innocent and fearful eyes.

"Don't call me that!" He took the paper and checked Hinata's answer. Tsukishima doesn't like the loud Hinata, but seeing him all meek and weak irritated him as well. It feels different.

He takes a look at Hinata's answer. It's correct. Finally.

"Okay now you get it I hope? Just one thing though, up to which decimal did you compute this from? You have to listen to the teacher for the instructions for that... blah blah blah..."Tsukishima continued.

In all honesty, Tsukishima is a good teacher. Hinata's just overly conscious and scared of Tsukishima's possible reaction and snide remarks. But when he goes into his tutor mode, Tsukishima is serious and patient. Something that makes Hinata's heart kinda flutter. ☺️

A rustle of paper and a quick plop was heard when Tsukishima hit Hinata with a rolled paper.

"Earth to Hinata". Scolded Tsukishima.

"Hey, be nice!". Scolded Sugamama.

"Sorry I zoned out for a minute 🙏🏻". Apologized Hinata.

"Hey let's give them like a 10-minute break. We can't afford to pick exploded brain matters at Tsukihima's room." Daichi kiddingly suggested.

Both the tutors and the students sighed in relief heavily.

They heard a knock on the door. Tsukishima's mother asked for about three people to bring up snacks from the kitchen counter. Hinata immediately stood up as expected. Tsukishima had to refrain from grabbing Hinata's collar to stop him from running.

'Ugh, honestly, this child's like a feral or something?'

Daichi followed to help as well.

"Auntie, everything smells so good!" Tsukshima's mother prepared and ordered a whole lot of food. Spaghetti, burgers, ramen, meat buns, pizza, and candies.

"Hello. Thank you for this ma'am, really appreciate it." Daichi respectfully agreed.

"Thank you, boys. Enjoy your food and make sure to study a lot!" Tsukishima's mother seemed so happy.

"Mom, are we having a birthday party? These guys will want to do the study sessions here every time." Tsukishma complained.

"Come on Kei, I was so happy you brought a lot of friends. You don't do that often. Now come on bring these upstairs. And let me know if you need more."

The three complied and brought what they can upstairs. They started to relax as the food is great and they forgot about the upcoming exams for a while. They discussed the possible teams they will meet in Tokyo.

Tsukishima opened his windows to ventilate his room as it started to smell like food. He sat down on the floor beside Hinata who has his meat buns in one hand and a plate of spaghetti on the bed, his other hand about to stuff spaghetti into his mouth. This triggered Tsukishima.

"Don't you dare stain my bedsheet with spaghetti sauce! Be careful."

"Of course—" but Hinata dropped food from his mouth. Tsukishima's reflex kicked in and caught the unchewed food in his palm. In horrors of all horrors, Hinata mindlessly ate from Tsukishima's palm and licked it clean.

"Urgh, you're disgusting!" Tsukishima yelled. Noya, Tanaka, and Yamaguchi saw everything and were laughing non-stop.

"Haaaah but I didn't stain your bed huh? Huh? 😂"

Tsukishima went to the comfort room to wash his hands.

Kageyama instinctively protected Yachi's back when Tsukishima walked past them. Yachi blushed.

Daichi and Suga's eyes met and seemed to have some kind of understanding and smiled at each other.

Inside the cr, Tsukishima is irritated with what Hinata did.

'That was so random! Why did he do that? Ugh!'

He may be complaining but what Hinata did bother him a lot because when Hinata licked his palm, he felt a rush of electricity flowed through his body and he felt excited. He is irritated that Hinata made him realize that maybe... his palm is one of his erogenous zones.
