De Tian's Circumstances, Death By Lightning.
Night 10 pm…
"Thank you for your purchase, please come again"
"Thank you" a boy who looked to be in his teens walked out of a general store with a heavy plastic bag in his hand.
He covered his face with his free hand as he looked at the dark clouds with a frown "Damn it's raining fiercely"
Even though it was already 10 pm, the moon could hardly be seen.
Dark clouds had embraced the whole sky, and countless light and transparent droplets of water fell freely on the ground.
BOOOOM!!!
"Ahh, That's scary!" the loud sound of collusion between the clouds and the lightning that flashed by occasionally was so loud that the boy was nearly frightened out of his wits as he exclaimed while looking at the distant dark clouds.
The dark clouds in the distance appears less of a cloud and more like a behemoth's mouth prepared to devour all the things below the clouds, and the occasional zapping lightning didn't help much to relive the fear either.
It had been more then three days now, yet the rain that down poured in this area of Huaxia didn't diminished in the slightest since the day one.
The young man took his umbrella that he had previously placed in the bin before heading inside the store " God this rain is getting in my nerves , I hate to get wet" he complained to himself before he began to walk towards one direction in a steady phase.
DA! DA! DA!
TAP! TAP! TAP!
The sound of his steady footsteps and the rain falling down freely on the ground with a 'Tap' sound was the only thing accompanying him on the road.
Now that it was already so late , most of the people in this area were already in their own home, trying to keep themselves warm and dry, making the road anything but bustling.
While walking he tilted his head to glance in the plastic bag he was carrying " now I have bought all the necessary things I need, cup noodles checked, cold drinks checked, canned meat and veggies checked, ooh I forgot to buy sauces, I guess I'll have to buy them on the way to home" all the food he talked about was mostly either canned food or something that can be cooked with relatively ease.
Even though he was already 19 years old, most of the times he will dine in some restaurant near the area or eat the canned food available at home, after all there was no one back at home to cook delicious food for him.
"Sight, forget it, it has always been like this, from the beginning" he took a bitter sight as he thought about the fact that there would be no one to welcome him back home when he gets back.
There will be no one to say 'Welcome Back' even if he hurried.
His face showed a little sad expression, but that was only for a second, from the moment he was able to think properly. De Tian had always been alone, he never remembered having parents or any other blood related family member for that matter.
In the start he lived in an orphanage , one of the sisters in the orphanage found him near the temple when she was going there to pray, after she took him back, he started to live in the orphanage with the rest of the children who had either lost their parents or were abandoned. After he got sixteen years old he left the orphanage as well.
From the childhood De Tina had always been a sharp minded person.
When he got 10 years old he started to do some odd jobs and saved money, the orphanage didn't have enough money for his education so he earned a scholarship by himself.
With his sheer will and intelligence, he got selected to study in one of the best collages there is in all the nearby areas.
The collage will give him dorm and even a certain amount of allowance.
This allowed De Tian to keep his studying and also find a job in the free time he had.
Every month he will separate about 5%-10% of his total income including both his allowance from collage and his salary from his job to transfer it to the orphanage.
But, as the saying goes, To gain something you will have to lose something.
In order to survive in this cruel world De Tina also lost something, he was unable to enjoy his childhood.
Unlike other children of his age who will spend their time while playing with their friends or spend it in the care of their family, he could only spend his free time in doing any odd jobs he could find, only for the sake of the future, whenever he got exhausted even thinking that maybe a little fun won't hurt, he will remind himself that he was doing all this to shape a better tomorrow for himself, and even the loss of one minute isn't acceptable for time doesn't wait for anybody.
His hard work finally paid off, with all the money he had saved he finally bought a small yet simple apartment for himself near the collage where he studied, at least he didn't have to worry about having a roof over his head now.

"My clothes are already wet, if this continues on, I will get soaked entirely" he said to himself as he glanced at his attire.
He was wearing a formal black shirt and grey pants, with matching belt and formal shoes.
He had always wore formal clothes most of the time, they were more cheaper then the expensive jeans and T-shirt and still looked good on him.
Just as he was thinking to himself, the rain suddenly got even heavier, the downpour began to get intense.
"This is bad" seeing the sudden increasing in the downpour De Tian's face got gloomy.
BOOOOOM!!
Just when he thought it won't get any more worse then it already is, the reality proved him wrong.
With a loud sound, a sudden bolt fighting flashed by.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
A part of the lightning hit one of the cable supporting pols near where he stood producing a 'Crackle' sound, in no time the thick rubber on the cable got burned by the high-voltage from the lightning that went beyond its sustaining ability.
It didn't take long for a few of the cables to be severed apart by the flames and lightning, now like a Kraken's tentacles, they danced in the air.
"I'd be damned, if the previous heavy downpour was bad then this situation is even more worse" all the color was drained from his face seeing the current dangerous scene in front of him.
One had to know that those thick cables carried high-voltage current, not to mention the previous bolt of lightning would surely have some effect on them as well, these cables were nothing short of death whips to De Tian.
Just as he was thinking how he can get away from this trouble alive, one of the thick cables directly came flying at him, the naked interior carrying current looked like the mouth of a serpent trying to bite him.
De Tian was scared out of his wits as he looked at the cable flying towards him like a death god's whip "No-No-No" he exclaimed loudly, and without letting his mind process what to do next, his body moved on it's own, getting out of the path of the cable.
"Huh, sight ~" just when he sighted in relief feeling his dear life was saved, he saw three more cables flying at him.
"Was one not enough that this time three of you are coming at me together?" he cursed loudly, but still forced his mind to think of the way to get out of this very dangerous scene…alive.
'Just how unlucky am I? even if I dough in the right, the cable coming from the left will hit me and vise versa, and even if i managed to dough two of them by pure luck or miracle, the third one will take my life, what to do, what to do' while he was panicking inside, by coincidence his gaze landed on the contents in the plastic bag he was carrying.
His brain stormed at lightning speed, letting go of all the unnecessary thoughts, even the fear of death, all that remained in his mind was how he can get out of this situation.
To De Tian It felt like a lot of time had already passed, but in reality only a second had passed when he found the way to have at least a chance to come out of this situation alive.
'Even though the plan is that of a madman it still has a certain chance of succeeding' thinking inside internally he made up his mind "alright let's do this, it's either do or die" In the next second his body began to move.
He took out some stuffs from the plastic bag.
One was a mere chopsticks made-up of wood and the other one was a large and thick wooden spoon that he bought because the one he had been using broke.
The three thick cables were coming at him from three different directions at the same time, which was pretty unbelievable sight to behold .
He threw the bag he had in his hand in front of one of them managing to dwindle it, the heavy plastic bag managed to stop the momentum of the coming cable, at least for the moment.
'Well that's one down and two to go' he thought internally as he glanced at the two cables coming at him.
Even though the cables were covered in rubber.
Because of the previous lightning and flames he couldn't afford to be touched by them, so he not only needed to be cautious about the end of the cables, but also the whole cables.
He took the large wooden spoon on his hand which was about 40-50cm long, using it like a sword he hit one of the cable, the scene was quite comical to say in the least, but of course De Tian couldn't care less about how he looked right now, after all he could even look like a joker as long he survived.
'Good, now only one remains' without even waiting for a second he used the wooden chopstick and wooden spoon as a cover to parry the last cable which had gotten a little too close to him.
As he looked at the cables he thought 'If I was even a second late, I would've become a fried human by now' he amused himself as he rolled out of the way, standing a little further away from his previous position.
"Ha, Ha, Ha, you see that, that's the way you do it, although there is no one here, it doesn't diminish the taste of victory in the least" feeling that he was out of danger now De Tian began to laugh out, acting like a kid with eight-grade syndrome, celebrating his hard acquired 'Victory'
While he was busy laughing his worries off, he didn't notice that another cable was coming at him from behind.
Coincidently or by pure bad luck, the place where De Tian was standing currently just happened to be the path of the first cable he avoided.
"What the-" Before he could even process what happened the thick cable wrapped around his body like a snake, and the current that it contained passed on his body made him have a taste of hell after having a taste of victory.
His body was literally shining like a beckon of blue light which electrified him.
"DAMN THIS HURT'S LIKE HELL"
That was his last thoughts before his vision darkened.
Everything around him turned pitch black, his senses began to weaken until they ceased completely…
It was really laughable that all the cables were avoided by him, yet he still died, that too by the first cable he avoided on the bases of sheer bodily instincts.
