The monster's footsteps stopped amidst the gunshots. A black metal mask popped out of the exoskeleton armor, firmly protecting its face. It lifted its right arm, and the machine gun mounted on its right hand began to spin faster and faster, followed by a violent roar. The terrifying metal storm tore through the gangsters' defense line and screams echoed one after another in the street.

The jeep loaded with heavy machine guns was smashed to pieces and then exploded violently, producing a huge fireball that soared into the sky, blowing hot air on Li Yexing and others' faces. In just a few breaths, the whole street fell silent, and the gangsters' mutilated limbs mixed with blood covered the entire street.

The gunshots stopped, and some reddened gun barrels were still emitting smoke. The monster roared deafeningly again, then turned its gaze toward Li Yexing's direction and drew a rocket launcher from behind with its left hand.

Li Yexing's pupils suddenly shrank. "Run! Run fast!" Li Yexing yelled at Chris while grabbing Lilith's hand and jumping off the building.

Chris reacted quickly and followed Li Yexing, jumping down as well. The next second, accompanied by the sound of air being torn apart, a rocket hit the outer wall of the building.

The terrifying explosion sounded, and the second floor of the building was blown to pieces. Large chunks of debris rained down like hail. Li Yexing held Lilith tightly and pressed her under him, while Chris held his head and lay down on the ground.

After a while, the debris stopped falling. Li Yexing stood up, shook off the dust on his body, and looked at Lilith, who was also covered in dirt, with concern. "Lilith, are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Lilith shook her head, but then she saw blood flowing down Li Yexing's face from a wound on his head.

Noticing Lilith's gaze, Li Yexing wiped his face with his hand. Seeing the blood on his hand and feeling the pain in his head, he gritted his teeth and said, "Dammit, it almost killed me."

Chris also crawled out of the rubble, looking equally disheveled. Not only was he covered in dirt, but he was also scratched all over. He hid behind a building on the side of the street and cautiously stuck his head out to look outside. Then he quickly pulled back as the sound of a machine gun rang out in the street, hitting the rubble where Chris had been hiding.

Li Yexing gritted his teeth and looked at Chris.

"There is no mistake, that must be Nemesis!"

Chris was familiar with the name Nemesis. His partner Jill had mentioned the terrifying night she spent in Raccoon City, where she encountered the relentless Nemesis, a monster created by modifying a Tyrant with a mission to hunt down prey without mercy.

'They've released monsters of this caliber just to retrieve this B.O.W.!' Chris turned to Li Yexing and asked, "What do we do now?"

"The gang's reinforcements will arrive soon. Let the gang hold that thing back. It won't be long before the local army shows up. You go contact the BSAA and ask for backup. I'll take Lilith and run!"

According to the specifications of Operation Raccoon City, it would take at least a hundred regular troops with heavy firepower to take down a Nemesis.
