Chapter 7

"El.....Angel" the voice of onii-chan woke me up.

Slowly opening my eyes , I saw three pairs staring back at me......ah right, I was sitting on nii-chan's lap and the boys where talking about politics, I joined in occasionally but it got boring and I fell asleep.

"Why did you wake me up? Did our parents finish discussing?" I asked half awake and half asleep while rubbing my eyes.

They all chuckled. What is there to laugh about?

"No. They haven't finish discussing. We are going to talk about a topic that you might be interested about so I woke you up. Plus, our etiquette teacher taught you before that a proper lady mustn't sleep in front of anyone, didn't she?"

"You are my brother" I paused and pointed to the other two "they are my friends, you guys aren't 'anyone'......Putting that aside, what is the topic that you think I might be interested in...so much that you have to wake me up?

Nii-chan, you of all people should know I hate it when people wake me up for something unimportant. It might put me in a bad mood all day."

"About our ancestors. You should know that our family, which include the royal family and the family of the two Dukes aren't purely humans, but only the three family knows of that. After all if humans find out...we can't rule anymore. So let's tell each other about our ancestors." explained Zayden

Well I guess this is interesting enough for me to abandon my precious nap time. Just barely though, I'll go back to sleep at once if it turns boring. I'm tired, I barely slept last night because I couldn't breathe properly.

"I'll start first." Nii-chan said with a smile "Our ancestors are the Royalty of Ice Elves thus every generation of the Diamonda family have Ice as their attribute. I'm guessing our mana has something to do with our blood too though it only happened in our generation.

So basically, Ice elves are the second strongest race there is to exist and they usually have white or blonde hair with red or blue eyes. As you can see from Angel and I. The only difference is we are weaker compared to them as there is human blood in us and we don't have sharp ears."

"Interesting. Then I'll go next." Carson smiled.

Why do they all smile when they are going to say something? Is it because they are captured targets or because they don't trust each other enough to show their true self? From what I can tell, these smiles aren't fake but they aren't exactly genuine.

"The Maverick family has the blood of Royal Void Fairies which is the third strongest race there is to exist. Our family have void as our attribute for every generation. Like Darkness and Ice. the void attribute is unobtainable for normal human beings. And the thing that symbolizes us is our blood red eyes."

"Hmmm~ then it's my turn now. The royal family's ancestor is the demon king. The strongest being there is to exist and is also the only being that has dark attributes. Before you ask, even though the demon kings you read in novels has black hair the real one which existed in our world has blonde hair."

After he finished talking, a maid came to our direction from quite far away. Zayden must have ask all the servants not to stand too close to us so they don't overhear our conversation. And there is a sound barrier one of them casted so unless it's someone skilled I doubt that they can eavesdrop.

"Your highness, Young Masters and Young Lady, your parents have summoned you to meet up in the audience chamber" she bowed respectfully. Maids in the imperial palace sure is on a different level.

"We understand " Zayden waved his hand to dismiss her and then turn to us "you heard her, let's go"

At the audience chamber

"We're here" Zayden spoke for all of us.

"We have decided." The emperor said facing us. Papa and Duke Maverick just nodded.

"You all will be living your normal daily lives" I mentally sighed

"but...."

but what? Continue! Don't leave me hanging here. I'm surprise there isn't any drumroll.

"You all have to come to the palace twice a week to commence training and I will be your teacher. No objection."

I though something bad will happen but I guess it's all fine now. To learn under the emperor is quite an honour but this was never mentioned in the otome game has it? Something out of the game happened?

"Your fathers and I will discuss what training to give you, for now you all can go home."

I thought something bad was going to happen. I mind-link the boys(Zayden,Xavier and Carson)

With that we all return to our homes.

6 months later

Now I'm officially five years old. A lot of things had happen these past months . Zayden have been coming over on every spare time he has while Carson comes here four times per week. Our training has been scheduled on Light(Sat) and Darkday(Sun).

We've all became very close friends since he meet almost on a daily basis so I can't really picture them killing me. But a book once said, 'Love Changes People', so letting my guard down isn't a good plan. I've never planned on getting involve with their love life anyhow.

Today's my birthday as well as onii-chan . You might find this odd but me and onii-chan's birthday is on the same day. Well we are exactly one year old apart. If you think that I'm happy.....well you're wrong.

This is the day where the heroine shows up. She would waltz into my home like she owns it and act all shy and weak while giggling like a drug addict when one of the capture target talks to her. And they would still freaking like it just because she is the heroine. In their eyes she is P-E-R-F-E-C-T, perfect.

While I'm in my thought trying to distract myself, I am physically going through hell. Mama is going crazy here dressing me up. I woke up extra early today as if the time I woke up usually isn't early enough by a maid who got ordered by a certain someone, my dear sweet mother.

I had to bath for half an hour in milk with a few drops of rose essential oil, had to sit in front of the dresser doing nothing for hours just to get my hair done. I can't even read a book during the process because it might be ruined not that I can see why it is related. Mom doesn't allow me to wear pants and wants me to wear a dress. C'mon, we're in a modern world, pants can be pretty too~

But hell was just getting started. Mama had me practice a song with nii-chan to sing for the sake of entertaining the guests. Why should I even do that? I attended a few birthday party when I was young and I didn't even see the birthday girl/boy entertain the guests. And I am not some type of entertainer...

"And you are done, young lady" mama said satisfied at her own work.

I looked into the mirror. I don't like dresses but Wow....don't want to brag but I do look stunning. Is this even me? It wasn't that type of puffy short dress but a silk dress that reaches down to my ankle. It had the mix of pastel purple with milky yellow which makes me happy since it isn't flashy.

Guess it's time huh?

*knock knock*

"Angel are you ready?" that is Zayden's voice.

As my fiancé, he will be my escort. Carson and him will enter with me and onii-chan as our closest friends.

"Ready" as I ran out of the room. I see all of their eyes widened in shock and their cheeks were tinted with a little pink. Do I look weird?

"Is there something wrong? Do I look weird?" I said worry leaking out my voice.

"You look stunning." Zayden said in awe.

"You look beautiful all the time but this is another level. Agh, my little sister is just so cute! I wanna hug you so bad but it might ruin your hair." Nii-chan whined pinching my cheeks.

"Nwii-chuan, staph it, hwuarts.(Nii-chan, stop it, hurts)"

"I agree with them completely. You should dress up more" Carson joined

"Thank you. You guys don't look bad yourself " I gave them a closed-eye smile after nii-chan let go.

"Let's go." Zayden reached out his hand to me. After all he is my escort.

We walked into the waiting room. As Papa announced

"Thank you for coming to my son and daughter 's birthday celebration. Without further ado , my son Xavier Alexander Diamonda and my dear daughter Angelica Emilia Diamonda ."

The door opened to reveal all eyes on us. I hope I survive from this battle!
