WHAT! I Have To Kill Heaven's Son To Live!

For as long as Reon could remember, he lived as a loner, focusing solely on his studies and part-time jobs to get by. No family, no social life, no personal life, no happiness, no sadness. . . . But then, he was transmigrated into a novel he had read for the first time, all because of a complaint about the main character—though he was not the protagonist, but merely a subordinate of a minor third-rate villain! How can someone be so petty? . . . However, he didn't mind. Since he found himself in a fantasy world filled with magic, swords, and cultivation, he resolved to live life to the fullest, something he had missed in his previous existence. In a realm where the strong are respected and the weak are crushed like ants. . . . In this world, he will choose to embrace adventure and romance, a wine glass in one hand and a woman in the other. For all of this, he needed strength... . . . [Ding! Host has awakened the "Heaven Plundering System!" If the host wants to survive in this world, he must kill heaven's child, or he may perish...] . . . WHAAT! . . . . ****WARNING**** . . . . If you prefer a dense, shy, beta, submissive protagonist, then this novel is not for you. Here, the main character will be Domineering, Ruthless, Calm, Intelligent, Cunning, and Alpha-type—caring only for his loved ones while remaining cold toward the rest of the world. . . . Additionally, female leads will be Strong, Intelligent, and Loyal—not merely waiting for the main character to come and rescue them like a fairytale prince. . . . The harem in this story will be large, with each member being capable and equally important to the plot. Every character will have their own significance and development, contributing meaningfully to the story. . . . NO NTR!! NO YURI!! NO FUTA!! NO YAOI!! . . . [There will be smut scenes in later chapters, it will be marked as (R-18) beside the headline. Minors, please exercise caution] . . . °°°°This is my first novel, and since English is not my primary language, I ask for your understanding if you come across any mistakes. The story will unfold at a slower pace, so I encourage fellow Daoists to be patient and support me on this journey. If you have any suggestions or ideas, feel free to share them in the comments. I will consider adding them if I find them truly good.°°°°

Chapter 52: Exploring The Mysterious Cave!

[Ding! The Host has selected the Fourth Option. Please proceed to complete the task in order to claim your reward.]

Reon tightened his grip on his sword and approached the cave's shadowy depths with Cloudia by his side, her low, silent steps matching his own cautious pace.

Each of their movements echoed softly against the damp stone, adding a sense of foreboding as they pressed deeper into the labyrinthine passageways.

After moving past the place where Cloudia had initially led him, they came upon another concealed entrance, shrouded by thick, twisted vines that he had to slice through to reveal the hidden path ahead.

From this point, darkness swallowed the path entirely, the faint glow from earlier minerals long behind them. Reon reached into his ring and pulled out a bamboo torch, igniting it with a spark.

The warm flicker of light revealed the jagged walls stretching deeper into the shadows ahead, casting sharp shadows as they pressed on.

As they journeyed deeper, the air turned colder, and the cave walls narrowed and curved inward, pressing close with rough, ancient stone veined with shimmering silver and strange, faintly glowing minerals that cast an eerie light.

Shadows danced along the walls, their shifting forms creating the illusion of movement, as if the cave itself was alive and watchful.

The scent of iron lingered in the air, mixing with the earthy aroma of moss and damp stone. Reon felt a subtle prickling at the back of his neck—a warning of unseen eyes watching from the darkness.

But Cloudia's steady, alert posture gave him confidence; with her sharp instincts, he knew they wouldn't be caught off guard by any lurking threat.

Reon stepped forward, his grip on his sword tightening as he advanced, every muscle alert.

The eerie light from the minerals seemed to dim slightly, casting the shadows even longer, while the air thickened around him, taking on an oppressive weight.

Suddenly, a soft, unnatural click sounded beneath Reon's feet.

In an instant, the ground shifted, and razor-thin darts shot out from hidden slits in the walls, slicing through the air with a deadly whistle.

"What the—!" Reon gasped, instinctively throwing himself to the side, his heart racing as he barely escaped the deadly onslaught.

The darts sliced past him, embedding themselves into the stone with a chilling precision. He landed on one knee, gripping his sword tightly, his breaths shallow as he steadied himself.

"Not going down that easily," he muttered, eyes narrowing as he scanned the shadows for more hidden threats.

Beside him, Cloudia moved with instinctive grace, weaving through the narrow gaps, her eyes sharp as she let out a low growl, warning him to stay alert.

He took a long breath, steadying his pulse. This cave wasn't just shelter to a powerful beast; it was a death trap designed to deter—or eliminate—any who dared enter.

Reon's eyes scanned the ground, noticing faint etchings where the darts had launched, and he resolved to watch his footing more closely.

They moved onward, careful to avoid the pressure plates, but a few steps later, the ground beneath him suddenly gave way, leaving only a thin ledge of rock.

Reacting quickly, Reon shifted his weight backward, reaching for a protruding stone as the floor crumbled into a dark, yawning pit.

The faint clatter of pebbles echoed far below, hinting at the terrifying depth of the drop.

Pulling himself up with Cloudia's help, Reon peered ahead and could see more traps lying in wait.

In some areas, the ground shimmered oddly, revealing barely concealed wires crisscrossing the path, primed to activate a yet-unseen danger.

The ceiling, too, bore ominous signs of traps—stone slabs precariously hanging by brittle threads, ready to fall with the slightest touch.

Navigating these became a deadly dance, and he and Cloudia wove carefully through the intricate maze, each step calculated, each breath held.

At one point, Reon stepped too close to a hidden trigger, and a surge of flame burst from the walls, forcing them to dodge sideways to avoid the searing heat.

Just when they thought they'd seen it all, another trap unleashed a wave of icy mist that froze the air around them in an instant.

Reon barely escaped its reach, his fingers stinging with cold as he brushed away a thin frost forming on his hand.

"Damn it! Should I just take down this entire narrow passage of the cave with Sword Aura?" he muttered, gritting his teeth.

But he quickly dismissed the thought, glancing around at the solid rock walls surrounding them. "No…we're too deep. If we're buried down here, we may not be able to get out."

Finally, after weaving through the last of the traps, they emerged on the other side, breathless but undeterred.

A faint, ghostly light flickered at the far end of the narrow passage, drawing Reon and Cloudia forward with cautious steps.

When they finally emerged from the passage, they found themselves in an immense chamber. The ceiling stretched far above them, lost in darkness.

As they crossed the threshold, a deep, resonant hum filled the air. Reon glanced back just in time to see the passageway they had entered through sealing itself with a heavy stone door, locking them into the chamber with an ominous finality.

They were committed now—no turning back.
