Holding Xiu Mei in arms Feng Jianyu stroked her back in an upward and downward motion. Don't know by doing so he was coaxing the woman in his arms or his own heart. But holding her protectively, feeling skin to skin touch, he was feeling relaxed.
He lowered his head to check if she has fallen asleep, but surprisingly even after drinking the whole bottle of wine she was very much wide awake and hearing his strong heartbeat.
"Mei!?" He called and Xiu Mei hummed in reply. She laid on his chest in peaceful silence and waited for him to ask whatever he wants to know. But when he didn't say anything for five minutes she looked up from his chest to face him.
As their gaze collided she noticed he was looking at her intensely. "What happen? What do you want to know?"
"You said you saw me and heard my voice too" His voice was meek and full of nervousness. "Trust me! It was not me that night. Maybe someone…."
