"It's rude to stare like that," Jax said, one eyelid barely open. He had one hand tucked behind his head, the other arm draped around me.
Resting my chin on his chest, I continued to gaze up at him. Sleep had been elusive last night. Mostly because Jax and I had made love until the sun came up, but also because I hadn't been able to silence my thoughts long enough to get any sleep. Between worrying about my sisters, about what the consequences would be for what I'd done, and the fact that Jax and I were being hunted by the Draven Coven guards. . .
Jax fully opened his eyes, his crystal-clear blue gaze settling on my face. "What's wrong?" He trailed his fingers up and down my back.
"Nothing." I smiled, the gesture feeling more natural than anything else had in weeks. "I just forgot how incredible it is to wake up in your arms like this."
His answering smile had my heart racing. "Yeah?" He lifted a single brow, his signature cocky grin curling his lips in the most seductive way.
