Chapter 119: Jax: Reunited

I paced, each step more nervous than the previous. What if Isach hadn't been able to talk to her? We didn't have a Plan B, so if Piper didn't show up. . . Just then, the door opened. I whirled around, eyes wide.

And then I saw her.

She wore a floor length, off the shoulder lace and satin hunter green dress. Her pale skin glistened in the dimly lit room, and her jewelry glittered. A dainty tiara sat atop her head. My heart lodged in my throat, preventing me from uttering a single sound. My God, she was the most gorgeous woman I'd ever seen.

Piper turned. "Jax?"

Her melodic voice snapped me from my daze, and I blinked. Everything about her came into sharper focus, and I was positive my heart exploded in my chest. I'd longed to be close to her again, to hear her voice, to see her brilliant, assessing green eyes, and now here she was.

"Piper." I breathed her name like it was my personal prayer, and then I moved toward her at the same second she rushed at me.
