Being reborn as a teenager was not what I wanted when I filled out the cyoa for my new life. Having said that I am rather glad that I'm not a toddler or heaven help me a baby.
My warehouse currently holds all of my possessions which include 5 million magic crystal coins a month, several progenitor bloodlines, dozens of advanced meditation techniques, dozens of grimoires containing every spell in this world, dozens of 5th 4th and 3rd ranks beast spirits, to be honest I pretty much bought everything from the cyoa since I chose to extend my stay by about a million years.
The fact that I was reborn as the fifth prince of a large kingdom in the chernobyl islands and that Magus Dorotte is my granduncle makes being a teen a little easier to handle. Luckily I have about
6 months to get ready to leave for the disciple selection which should be the same one as Leylins.
Dorotte came by to see us, he tested all of my brothers and sisters but I was the only one with the talent to be a magus. Of course that would be because I took the increase in my aptitude grade when filling out the cyoa.
My body has previous training as a Grand Knight so my overall stats are very impressive even if I havent ignited my inner fire as they call it. Here is what my stats look like right now, (str 8.9) (agi 9.2) (vit 8.7). I made a deal with my uncle, since he said that he didnt have any crystal coins to spare.
I would bring about 80-100 peasents with me to sign a deal with the academy to work as assistants and whatnot for the next 30 years and in return they would get to learn for the next 5 years as acolytes.
Being an acolyte would be a monstrous step up for them since they currently were pretty much serfs. I would be getting 1 magic crystal coin a month for every serf that had at minimum 1st grade aptitude and I deliver to the academy. Another add on to the deal would be me bringing 50 knights that would be sold to the academy for 100 coins a piece.
I didnt need any of this but Dorotte is no idiot and if he suspects that I have more coins than I should he might just wreck my plans entirely. I spent the next 2 months gathering the serfs, knights, supplies and carriages for the journey, then spent the next 4 months teaching the 129 serf children a modified knight breathing technique so that they could help defend us in the Great plains of Death.
Hopefully after this whole ordeal in the Plains of death I would ignite my inner fires and I would become a true Grand Knight. We spent 3 more months travelling to meet up with Leylins convoy, with no need to spare the gold I had made sure that each of the serfs I brought would have armor and weapons to spare, plus enough rations to last us a full year. Joining the convoy was a simple affair and the 2 acolytes stuck guarding them didnt care anyway, but the plains were still deadly even with an extra 180 knights to guard it.
The First big fight we had was against this massive wolf pack, not just regular wolves either but direwolves. Must have been atleast 400 of the bastards, I made an epic speech
that I totally didnt steal from a certain frog captain in mass effect. We Held The Line!!!! By the ancestors we held, the scent of blood in the air had drawn 2 more packs that nearly overwhelmed us. I lost 12 knights and over 30 of my serfs.
The only good thing was that my fires ignited and my stats shot up, (str 12.1) (agi 11.5) (vit 11.9). I tell you the feeling of my strength shooting up was intoxicating, I dont think I'll be able to hold myself back from using one of my high grade meditation techniques (forever to be referred to as HGMT).
To be honest the whole reason I dont is that it wouldnt be as fun fighting my way up from the bottom. What would be the point of starting in the Chernobyl islands just to use my HGMT to jump from acolyte 1 to magus 3 or even four in just a few years? I want to be challenged a bit, at least until the disciple battle at the end of the acolyte arc.
When we finally made it out my people breathed a massive sigh of relief, at the end of the journey my numbers had gone down to 76 serfs and 33 knights. My test showed what I already knew, that my aptitude was grade 5 and my affinities at least what I showed were for fire, shadow , and lightning. Of the 76 serfs 42 had 1st grade aptitudes and 13 had 2nd grade, the rest were not suitable at all as acolytes so I told them that the academy would still hire them as knights just to get them on the blimp.
After dealing with all the hassle of signing all of them up with Dorotte, i finally had a chance to relax. Jayden and Kaliweir annoyed the crap out of me with their bickering, I smacked them around to relieve the stress of dealing with them.
I knew that Jayden would test his artifact on me the first chance he got, but he was only a student of Dorotte while I was his damn nephew. He gave me an artifact and the meditation technique the second he saw my aptitude. My artifact was a low rank artifact "Shadow Whips" it could be controlled just like Jaydens vines but mine was also a weapon theat could deal 8 degrees of shadow damage.
Jayden's right now could only restrain his opponents since he is still weak. The airship was very cool but a month of travel time kinda sucked, the only fun came when Jayden confronted me and I got to show off the artifact Dorotte gave me, then when the Storm Sprite attacked us and the magus' dealt with it. By the time we made it to the academy I was honestly pretty close to just saying F*** it and use my HGMT and turning everything within 50 miles of Jayden and Kaliweir into a smoldering hole!!!!!! My deal with the academy went smoothly and headmaster Siley gave me 5400 crystal coins for the knights and 55 for the acolytes, with 55 more every month thereafter. The professor I chose was named Montez and he specialized in enchanting and making magic artifacts, he didnt have any special requirements and was only a decade or two from dying from old age. Thus looking for a succesor.
