CHAPTER 24 - Aurora

Today's the day, I'm going to tell my family I'm pregnant.

I'm going to tell Mom, dad and Nikolai for now and I will tell Leo, Luca and Chiara when I'm ready.

I have my first scan of the baby today and I can't wait. I still can't believe I'm going to be a mom in a eight months. I got dressed into a comfy outfit and got ready to go. I have to go to college after and then when I come home I will tell them I'm pregnant.

I'm really nervous, what if mom and dad are disappointed in me for being pregnant so early in my life. I'm going to tell them I got pregnant from a one night stand with a guy I met at the club and I don't know his name.

I'm not ready to tell them that Leo is the father of my child. 

At the doctors.....

"Theirs the baby". The doctor said pointing to the circle on the screen.

"It's so tiny".I say in awe looking at my baby.

"It is but it will get a lot bigger". The doctor laughs.

"You will be able to find out the gender at 12 weeks". The doctor explains turning off the machine.

"Okay thank you". I reply cleaning my stomach. I can't wait to find out what I'm having, but I don't care what gender, I just want the baby to be healthy, that's all that matters.

After I left the doctors I went to college, I had told Massimo that I had to pick up something from the doctors  so he didn't suspect anything... Thank god.

"Hey Josh". I said sitting down, I had taken a few days off just so I could fully process that there will be a lot of changes in the future.

"Hi Aurora"He replied. "Are you okay, you were off for a few days?"

I smiled "Yeah I'm fine, I wasn't feeling well."

"Well it's good to have you back." Josh teased.

"Fuck off". I laughed pushing him on the shoulder which was followed by his laugh.

"Just like old times." He said leaning back into his seat still laughing.

"Yeah". 

But not for long...

A while later.....

It's time, I told mom I was going to make lunch so we can all have quality time together.

"Thanks sweetie". Mom says as she sits down looking at the food in front of her. I don't cook very often because I'm not good. I usually burn everything or undercook something.

I had some help from the chefs but they don't need to know that. Dad and Nikolai walked in and Nikolai's eyes widened at the food.

Mom did you make this Nik asked sitting down and tucking in. "No Aurora did." Mom said smiling at me.

"Well done Aurora". Dad said kissing my head. "Thanks dad" I said.

Yeah right, the chefs cooked this right Nik asked undermining my cooking abilities. 

"No, I cooked this myself". I said offended.

"Yeah...Right." Nik scoffs rolling his eyes. "Nikolai appreciate what your sisters done, she cooked us a lovely meal, now can we eat I'm starving."

Dad said sitting down.

After we finished breakfast I figured it was time to tell them. It's now or never.

Umm I have something important to tell you guys I said nervously looking at each of them.

"What is it sweetie?" Mom asked cuddled next to dad. I breathed slowly nervous for what I was about  to say next.

I closed my eyes. "I'm pregnant."

Nik choked on his orange juice and started coughing vigorously and mom and dad looked at each other and then back at me.

I was waiting for a million questions to come at me at once but no one spoke.

"I'm sorry". I said ashamed. Mom smiled "There's no need to be sorry sweetie, we're not mad at you, you make your own choices."

I let out a a breath I didn't know I was holding. Relief washed over my body as I smiled.

"We're going to be grandparents". Mom said as tears clouded her eyes.

"And I'm going to be an uncle". Nikolai smiled punching my shoulder gently.

Dad smiled and got up and came towards me. He hugged me tightly as I cried, Mom and Nikolai joined the hug.

After we hugged, the question I dreaded answering  was asked.

"Who's the father?"Dad asked curiously,I gulped nervously thinking my responses over.

"It was a one night stand, I was drunk and I wasn't thinking straight...I don't know who the father is..... I don't even know his name." I lied ashamed.

"That's okay, we'll be here to support you every step of the way okay."Dad said hugging me again.

"Yeah". Nik smiled.

"Thanks guys." I said grateful for how they reacted, I had thought of the worst case scenario when imagining how this would go.

I thought they would be disappointed in me for not getting my psychology degree first and getting married but I'm so glad they reacted this way...it couldn't of gone better.

I just hope it will be this smooth when telling Leo.
