Calm before the Storm

"What on earth is going on?" Vishnu wandered as he stepped outside.

Countless first years were running and fleeing with fear and loss in their eyes.

At that moment his comm rang.

With furrowed brows, Vishnu picked up the call.

"Vishnu, some of the second years are blocking us from going to the store! They are extorting and robbing everyone attempting to pass of their CP!" came an urgent voice.

"What!" Vishnu exclaimed in surprise.

These second years had no shame!

They were robbing their juniors in broad daylight!

Vishnu's curiosity got the better of him though. "Let me go and see what's going down," he muttered.

With his personal strength and background, he wasn't afraid of being robbed; not by second years still in the Enlightenment realm!

Even if they were at the peak, he was solidly in the middle of the Enlightenment realm and he was confident of his chances of fighting against those above his level if the need arose.

Hell, he could even flee if the going got tough and the seniors wouldn't be able to catch up to him!

"Things are really interesting today," Vishnu remarked as he took off into the skies, flying towards the direction of the store!

Damien, Frank and Hank got out of their room, headed for the school store.

"Why are they targeting first year students and me specifically?" Damien asked Hank and Frank.

"Someone posted info on our private second year platform that the first years were walking about with hundreds of CP and most of you were going to the store to spend them.

Recently, some of our mates got scammed out of their CP so they basically became broke.

Y'all walking about with hundreds of CP is an opportunity to regain what they lost.

You're the prime target because according to the intel, you're walking about with at least 500 CP!

Not only you but also a few others like you," Frank explained.

Damien's eyes widened.

How did they know that?

Who was the source of that information?

"Who posted that into your year platform?" Damien asked.

"We don't know. I'm certain that he's never chatted in the year group before though," replied Frank.

Damien narrowed his eyes.

Even though he didn't have much evidence, he knew he was being targeted.

Or was he?

After all, he wasn't the only one named in the intel given but definitely the one with the most priority!

Whatever it was, his mates were also being robbed.

There was a sure fire chance that he too would be a target of the robbery but he wasn't going to take it lying down.

He earned this CP!

Perhaps he would even be lucky. They might not even know who he was and how he looked like!

"Um don't get your hopes up of evading detection. Your picture was added," said Hank.

"What the hell!" Damien exclaimed.

How did they get his picture?!

Who was the mastermind behind this?

Damien was truly furious.

The person had literally set him up to have no peace!

Even if he decided not to go to the store today, the second years would be on a frantic manhunt for him.

They would hover about the store and training centers like vultures, waiting for Damien.

Due to them already having his picture, it was only a matter of time before they caught up to him and robbed him.

Damien was livid!

He had to end this now!

He had to show that he was no pushover and he definitely wouldn't succumb easily!

"Well, they don't have to wait any longer. I'm coming right at them!"

"Boss, I heard our mates are being robbed. Let's turn around now and return later when everything has cooled down," Craig said worriedly.

"When have I, Silas Spears, been a coward? We are going right to the store! I would like to see them rob me!

Besides, I have a score to settle with them. I haven't forgotten the 10 CP they took from me!

If they dare to offend me, I'll curse them and rob them of the CP they are robbing!" Silas declared.

His followers exchanged wry smiles.

What they feared had happened.

Silas had always been unreasonable! Once he made up his mind, there was no stopping him!

They had no choice but to go with him and hope he wouldn't cause too much trouble.

But alas, who were they deceiving?

Silas was definitely going to give the second years a taste of his foul tongue today!

"Who knew the second years could be this desperate?" Diego remarked as he looked at his comm.

"Whatever it is, it won't affect us. We aren't outside," Eliza remarked nonchalantly. She didn't care about what was going on outside.

"I would like to see what's going to happen though. Someone like Silas is definitely going to rush there to cause trouble," Diego chuckled.

"Seriously? Why would you even want to go there?" Eliza was shocked.

They were undisturbed here, minding their business. Why would they want to put themselves in trouble when they could sit it out?

"Well, you can stay here. As for me I'm going to take a look," said Diego.

Things were definitely going to get wild!

Not all the first years would allow themselves to be robbed easily. They would rather fight with the second year students than give up their CP!

A fight was bound to happen.

And it certainly wasn't going to be one sided!

It was going to be a war!

The second years who were robbing the first years were at the Peak of the Enlightenment realm! There were first year students who were at the middle level of the same realm and were definitely not pushovers.

If they combined their might, they could even give the seniors a run for their money!

A few of them could even fight above their level!

Diego was one of those.

Whatever was going to go down today, he had nothing to fear.

He would go to see what was happening!

Perhaps even join in the fight!

The spars hadn't satisfied his thirst for a good battle.

"Wait for me, I'm coming with you!" Eliza exclaimed when she saw Diego was about to leave.

Still grumbling in dissatisfaction, she rushed after Diego!

While others were fleeing from the second year thugs, some people were heading over to them! They didn't fear the second years, especially when they were all in the same realm with only a level difference!

Damien stormed towards the direction of the school store even as Frank and Hank followed him from closely behind.

He wasn't going to sit back and allow anyone to extort him!

"I've never seen Damien this angry," Hank muttered to Frank.

Frank nodded. "He sure is scary when he is angry. He'll be fine though… the robbers are only at the peak enlightenment realm.

Damien is at the middle level of the realm but I'm sure he can fight above his level.

I would love to see what he did to the guy in that 'oops my bad' video happen!

It would be hilarious!"

"Yeah, he can take care of himself. We'll stay back and let him fight his fight but if anyone tries to interfere or rob him we'll stop them," Hank said.

Both brothers nodded at each other.

If one of the robbers turned out to be in the Advanced realm, they would stop him from going after Damien.

Anything else, they were sure Damien could handle it.

As for them, they were going to watch a good show!

"Damn, I should have brought some snacks!" Frank lamented.

"What on earth is wrong with these kids!?" Head Instructor Riley moaned in frustration.

They were troublemakers!

There were arenas and a colosseum in the school for god's sake but nooo these people chose to have a fight near the school store!

He was about to rush out to make them go to the fighting arenas but the Vice Chancellor stopped him.

"Mm? I see this as a good chance for the first years to stand up for themselves. It's good they have some backbone. Let them do it where they are," Vice Chancellor Monnet said lightly.

She could see what was going on clear as day.

And she had long noticed that not all the first years had run away. Some had even left their rooms and they were rushing head on towards the second years!

"Allow them to fight. I want to see how these freshmen handle themselves," said the Vice Chancellor.

Riley nodded and typed something into his comm.

"Hold off the law enforcement squad. They can come after this altercation is over," Riley gave orders into his comm.

Vice Chancellor Monnet enlarged her holographic screen and switched its display to where the clash was set to happen.

Riley could also see the screen.

"Let's see what these freshmen are capable of," the Vice Chancellor remarked with a smile.
