CHAPTER 5

'Where am I?'

That's what Alyana's first thought upon opening her eyes. She was certain she's not in her room at that moment, which made her panicked for a second but stopped when she saw Nix lying down on the sofa near the bed where she was, trying to fit himself on it while silently sleeping.

'Why is he here?'

She frowned and tried to get up while making no noise. She then went near Nix to see if he was really sleeping. But the thing she was planning to do was diverted when she saw his sleeping face, from his dark black hair, thick eyebrows which gave him more appeal, his pointed nose, perfect jaw and his soft lips. Her heart bumps when she didn't realize that she was already staring at his face for a few minutes. At that moment, she was assured he was in a deep sleep.

She sighed and went to the side table where she saw her bag and took her phone, just to see that it's already midnight.

"What?!" she muttered, slapping her forehead and sat on the bed while pouting. The last thing she remembers was in the cafe, she felt sleepy and went into a deep sleep. She tries to remember who's with her at that time, but covers her mouth when she realizes that Nix was the one who supported her from falling, because he was beside her.

Even though Alyana was nervous that she would be scolded by her boss because she didn't have any work done yet in the office and went to the cafe without telling him, she tried to go outside the room where they are and looked around. It was a condo where he took her.

"Is this his condo?" she asked herself but got shocked when she heard someone in her back answered.

"Yes."

Alyana quickly looked at that person and saw a tall man in front of her.

"D-did I wake you up?" she asked, it was Nix with his morning face intently looking at her, his hair was still messy.

"Yes."

"I'm sorry, b-but why did you take me here? You know my address," she said, looking down her feet while whispering the last words.

"Are you not aware that you are heavy? I didn't take my car with me when I went to that cafe. And still you want me to carry you until we get to your house?" he said. Alyana bit her lower lips and closed her eyes because of the embarrassment she was feeling at that moment. How dare she question her own boss?

"I-I'm sorry, Sir!" she quickly said and ran towards the door. She was about to open it when Nix spoke.

"Where do you think you're going? Do you know what time it is?" he asked, but deep inside he doesn't want to just let her walk away from him, especially not at this time.

Alyana remembered that it's already midnight so she didn't have any option but to wait until morning in her boss' condo. She looked back and smiled at him, and then went to the sofa in the living area to sit. Nix followed and sat beside her.

"Cook for me," he suddenly said after a minute of silence.

"Sir?" Alyana asked incredulously.

"You heard me, cook for me." Nix repeated. Alyana's mouth circles and quickly nods.

"What do you want me to cook, Sir?" she asked, standing up from her seat.

"Anything."

Even though she was confused with his answer, she immediately went to the kitchen and searched for something she could cook.

While Alyana was busy finding something in his kitchen, Nix couldn't stop himself from smiling. Alyana was there in his condo, and she was going to cook for him. He always imagined Alyana waking up by his side every morning, cooking for him and taking care of him. He even lied when he said that he didn't take his car when he went to that cafe, because he did. He just doesn't want Alyana to question him, when in fact it's also Kaye who suggested that Nix can just take Alyana to his condo, which was very favorable for him.

After a minute of waiting, Nix stood up to see what Alyana was doing and saw her wearing his apron, facing the stove while stirring something. He rested his shoulder on the wall while staring at her, he couldn't stop himself to think that they were already together.

"Sir, it's done!" Alyana said, which made him flinch a bit. He acts that he just arrived there, luckily Alyana wasn't seeing him yet.

"What did you cook? Make sure it's safe," he said. Alyana smiled at him and prepared some bowls for him before taking the dish she cooked.

"Here, Sir." Alyana showed it to him, she pouted when she saw Nix sighed. "Why? This is the only thing I saw in your kitchen," she said while giving him the noodles.

"Ah."

Nix started eating but stopped when he saw that Alyana wasn't even moving.

"What are you doing? Eat with me," he said, Alyana smiled and started eating too with excitement. She slept for many hours, making her feel hungry after.

"After this you can sleep again in my room, I will just stay here outside," Nix said in the middle of eating. Alyana looked at him, she couldn't believe what he just said.

"You can just sleep there, I saw you earlier. You are not comfortable sleeping on the couch, but I am, so don't worry," Alyana said, trying to convince him.

"Who told you that I am not comfortable? I am," Nix replied, even though he can still feel his aching neck. He wouldn't just let Alyana sleep on the couch, when he can just give her the most comfortable place she can be.

"Are you sure? But, no, I will sleep on the sofa Nix." Alyana directly said. Nix looked at her as if she said the most forbidden word, his name. But in the back of his mind, he really loved whenever Alyana was calling him that way. He felt like he had the most magical name because of her.

"Don't be so silly Miss Frances, I will sleep on the sofa and you can take the bed. No more buts, or I will fire you." Nix seriously said, trying to hide his smile when he saw how Alyana frowned hearing him say that name.

"Why do you keep on calling me Frances? My name is Alyana," she said, pouting her lips.

"And why do you keep on questioning me? Just eat and sleep again. I will call you whatever I want to," Nix said.

"Whatever, you're so embarrassing," she said, whispering the last word.

"What did you say? I didn't hear it," Nix asked. Alyana smiled at him and stood up.

"I said, you're so handsome Sir," she said and took the bowls after and went to the sink to wash them.

She was frowning while facing the sink, but flinched when she felt someone behind her. It was Nix.

"I know." He whispered to her ears, making her shivered. If it was like she was electrified by a million volts. He then went inside the room, Alyana was just staring at the door with her shocked face. After a minute, Nix went outside again while holding a pillow and blanket.

Alyana was just watching Nix's every move until he lay down himself on the couch to get back to sleep.

She was so confused because of the personality her boss was showing now, she knew him but he didn't take this far.

'Crazy' she thought. Finishing what she was doing, and going back to Nix's room.

"I can't sleep," she said while looking at the ceiling. It's already 2 o'clock in the morning, yet, she can't drag herself to sleep. "Argh," she shouted out of embarrassment while messing her hair, forgetting that she's not in her house. After a second she heard a knock on the door, that's when she realizes that where she is right now is not her own.

"What happened?" Nix asked from outside. She bit her lower lips and stood up to open the door. She apologetically smiled at him.

"I'm sorry, I can't sleep. I forgot that..uhm, I'm not home," she said, scratching her head.

"Just do whatever you want."

She was stunned because of what he just said. Do whatever I want? Was repeating in her head over and over again.

Nix was about to go inside the bathroom when Alyana called him in his name, making him stop and look at her.

"Can I watch some movies?" she asked, with a pleading tone. Nix couldn't help but to smile at her.

'Why is she so cute?' was in his thoughts.

On the other hand, Alyana got shocked because of his sudden reaction. She blinks faster while staring at him.

"Why?" he asked her. "Yes, you can watch there, but just lower down the volume," he added.

"Did..did you just smile?"
