The Mouths of The Bastards

It was a tiring day, but quite a relief for Riana, she managed to get three pieces of clothing belonging to her uncle. Isn't this enough for Ivander, at least he can change clothes several times.

After feeling that the gate guard of the residence was not paying attention to her, Riana looked left and right looking for Ivander. She planned to stop by the market to buy some food ingredients, not forgetting meat.

A flash of thought about the man stealing his uncle's clothes appeared, but she erased it as best she could. "No! There's no way he would do that."

"You looking for me?" The voice that suddenly appeared from Riana's left side didn't surprise her, its presence was quite subtle.

"Where have you been?"

"I'm not going anywhere, didn't you tell me to wait for you outside?"

Riana nodded, "I've got your clothes, but we won't go straight home."

"Where are we going?"

"Market, I have to buy some groceries and meat."

"You don't need to bother buying me meat." Ivander said.

"Who else will buy it for you? It's for me!" Riana firmly said the word 'for me', which made Ivander laugh.

If you remember, it's been a long time since he laughed so casually, for the last four years he has always been busy with matters related to death. In fact, he was no longer afraid of it, there was no reason to defend his life, the people he loved were no longer there, they had left him. Now he believes that if he dies no one will look for him.

"What do you want to eat tonight?" Riana asked, breaking Ivander's reverie.

"What do you want to eat?" Ivander turned to ask.

"That's my question!"

"Okay, whatever it is I can eat it."

"Then I'll cook empanadas, do you like them?"

Ivander nodded. Empanadas are baked pastries.

"But, I'm not so sure that I have enough money to buy meat." Riana laughed a little.

Seeing Riana's suddenly adorable behavior made Ivander remember the little children he often met when he was walking around the city, their behavior was very cute!

A bustling atmosphere filled with a sea of ​​people and various kinds of goods being neatly sold along the street was now visible in front of Riana and Ivander. The journey to get to this place took quite a long time so that the feeling of hunger was now creeping up on Riana, she couldn't endure it any longer.

"I'm hungry, looks like we have to find a place to eat." Riana exclaimed as she looked here and there looking for a place to eat.

"Is there a place you like to eat?" Ivander asked.

Riana shook her head, "I've never eaten at a place like this." She answered.

"Is this your first time?"

Riana nodded.

"How did you know there was a market here?"

"I know this place because I've come here occasionally, but I've never eaten here."

Ivander nodded, actually he still had questions in his head since he was standing under the tree waiting for Riana to come out of the large mansion-like residence. He suspected that it was impossible for Riana to be a commoner, ordinary people would not easily enter and leave the residence of a nobleman. The gatekeeper's attitude was also very polite towards Riana, she must be a noblewoman, but why did she live alone in a house far from residential areas?

Is Riana being punished and exiled? There is absolutely zero possibility, looking at Riana's behavior it is impossible for her to do things that would require her to be punished and exiled.

"Do you want to try eating there?" Riana asked while pointing at one of the small cafe which was quite busy.

"It's up to you, I can eat anything." Ivander answered.

They then stepped into the cafe after tying their horses. The tables were full, it seemed like this cafe was quite famous. Several pairs of eyes were seen staring at Riana quite deeply, which made Ivander furious.

A small table with two empty chairs in the corner of the cafe was Riana's goal, she had to occupy it immediately before anyone else. Without wasting time, Riana grabbed Ivander's arm to rush there. After she ordered two portions of food while counting the number of coins she brought, she was finally able to sit quietly while waiting for her food to arrive.

"What do you think about this place?" Riana asked while paying attention to every corner of the shop.

"I don't like." Ivander answered.

"Don't like it? Doesn't it seem like this place is quite famous and has lots of customers?" Riana raised her eyebrows, confused by Ivander's answer.

"Hhhh." Ivander just snorted harshly, he was not interested in talking further with Riana, his ears were busy listening to the trash talk that came out of the mouths of the bastard men around him.

"That lady is really beautiful."

"I'll bet she's the most beautiful lady in the village."

"I regret marrying my wife, should I leave her?"

Bastard man! They are trash! Ivander's fists tightened even more, he almost threw a punch at the bastards' faces if their food hadn't arrived at that exact moment.

His mind focused again on the food in front of him, two slices of bread containing pieces of vegetables and meat and spicy sauce served separately made Ivander's stomach struggle, even though he was sure that he was not hungry.

"It's really delicious." Riana bit into her bread, her eyes sparkling.

Seeing Riana eating with gusto, Ivander followed suit, taking a bite of the bread. His tongue tasted something he had never tried, it was true what Riana said, this bread was delicious.

After finishing their food, they immediately left the cafe, fortunately the trash talk could no longer be heard, more precisely because Ivander looked at them with a sharp gaze as if he was going to kill them immediately. Ivander gave those bastards a look so that they would no longer brag about disgusting things.

Her green eyes sparkled again when she saw the various accessories that made Riana forget about her needs. She had been busy looking at beautiful accessories, wasn't it very natural for a young girl like her to be interested?

"Come here, Lady. I will give you the things you want for free if you want to accompany me here." The exclamations and lustful glances by the old traders were clearly aimed at Riana.

Riana responded with a smile, sometimes she almost agreed to their offer if Ivander didn't immediately refuse and glare at them.

"Are they really going to give me the item I want?" Riana asked Ivander.

Ivander was silent, reluctant to respond. More precisely, he was annoyed because Riana wasn't angry with them.

"Won't I be able to save my money if I agreed. Why did you refuse the offer anyway?"

"Huh? Don't you know what they want?"

"I just accompany them to sell, isn't that easy?"

Ivander is tired, he is very desperate to face Riana's behavior, does he really not know what those bastards mean? And one thing Ivander knows, the men in this village are really trash!

"You really don't know?" Ivander confirmed with a slightly sharp gaze.

"What do they want? Besides, you've rejected them all, how could I ever get a chance like that again." Riana pursed her lips, she sulked.

Ivander was silent, not wanting to argue with her, the woman in front of him was really innocent. He followed her from behind, occasionally sending sharp glances as if he was going to pounce on the bastards who were stealing glances at Riana. His ears haven't stopped hearing trash talk ever since!

"What is that beautiful lady looking for?"

"I can't tell from her clothes, is she a noblewoman?"

"Isn't she looking for a mighty man?"

"What about the man behind her?"

"The bodyguard is terrible!"

"Red-haired woman, I haven't seen her for a long time."

"Look at her body, isn't it enchanting."

The journey back home was very tiring, Ivander desperately held back his anger so as not to make a scene. He also had to endure scolding from Riana along the way for preventing her from getting free items.

"I didn't think I had enough money to buy meat." A sweet smile appeared on Riana's face.

Ivander helped Riana bring meat and some food ingredients, he also didn't forget to bring Riana's uncle's clothes into the house.

"I'm very tired, I have to rest. You also rest, don't forget to change your trousers, they must be very dirty." Riana said, she didn't mean to mock him, she just reminded him to quickly change into comfortable and cleaner clothes.

"See you later at dinner." Riana said goodbye and left Ivander, today was really tiring.
