Finessing The Beast

"Ha… ha… ha…" Arthur couldn't stop now and needed to increase the distance between him and the Razer Tusk Boar as much as possible.

ONKH! ONKH! ONKH!

The Razer Tusk Boar shook its head and snorted loudly, trying to shake off the feeling of daze. In just a couple of seconds, it recovered its wits and charged toward Arthur again.

Its hooves stomped upon the rock fragments, reducing them to gravel while its razor sharp tusks pointed towards Arthur.

The beast only had one thought in its mind, it wanted to kill Arthur!

Of course, Arthur's goal was to avoid that and in order to do so, he had increased the distance between him and the Razer Tusk Boar by fifty meters now.

'This'll give me a little breathing room, but I need to find more obstacles for the dumb boar.' Arthur thought while going through his memories.

He had paid attention to his surroundings while coming here, taking note of different objects on his way. Since he needed to make use of them, there was no way he would forget them this quickly.

And soon enough, he spotted his next damage opportunity.

"Let's see how you fare against a tree this time!" Arthur said as he leaped over a collapsed tree.

The tree had broken in half naturally and the remaining part was still enough for Arthur to cross. But for the Razer Tusk Boar that was like a truck without breaks, it simply crashed into the tree stump.

>Razer Tusk Boar has crashed into a Tree Stump!<

>Environmental Damage has been inflicted!<

[-3% HP]

Unlike before, the damage inflicted was less as the Tree stump directly exploded into splinters.

"Tch~ Old wood wouldn't stand against the strength of the Razer Tusk Boar. I need something tougher." Arthur muttered to himself thinking of the next obstacle.

He increased the distance between him and the boar as much as possible while also changing the direction. He spun around a tree and abruptly started running towards the east.

Having searched for the Razer Tusk Boar for a while, Arthur had seen enough areas that could be made use of.

'It should be here…' Arthur wondered if he had miscalculated.

The sound of stomping could be heard coming closer as the Razer Tusk Boar was gaining momentum.

>Warning! Player Arthur's Stamina has fallen to 50%<

"Ugh! I Need to top it off, but I can't stop." Arthur quickly took out the flask and chugged some water without stopping.

Since he was still spending stamina while running, it didn't regenerate as fast as it would while resting. But it did delay the speed of his stamina drain.

"I definitely need some stamina restoring items." Arthur took note.

As much as he desired them, he knew getting anything better than water in his current location would be difficult. There were indeed some items that were better at restoring the stamina, but they were still too expensive.

While he might be able to buy them with his higher than average wealth in the game, it would still be an amount that he would rather not spend. Instead, he had goals that needed to be fulfilled and he needed to save for them.

Arthur watched as his stamina drain slowed down. He made a few approximate estimations about how much stamina would be needed for him to reach a certain point and realized that he might just fall short.

'Even with the water I have, it won't last till the end. I need some way to recover more stamina.' Arthur thought to himself.

Thankfully, he had raised his stats before this, which had given him a bit more stamina than before. If not for that, it wouldn't have been long before Arthur would have fallen from exhaustion.

A minute later, Arthur finally reached the next obstacle he was looking for. He had been running through trees, thus the speed of the Razer Tusk Boar had been reduced. Even if it could mow down trees it was moving between the trees, avoiding them.

As much as Arthur would have liked for the beast to keep on crashing into trees, his wish wasn't satisfied.

THUD!

ONKH!!!!!

But then the sound of something stumbling was heard, before it crashed. Arthur took a look back and saw that the Razer Tusk Boar seemed to have fallen into a ditch!

"HAHA! I didn't even realize there was a ditch there." Arthur was pleased by the little surprise.

There was no damage notification though, which meant that the fall wasn't enough to hurt the boar, but it did give Arthur the time needed to recover more.

'I should be able to let my Stamina return to at least 70% now.' Arthur reckoned.

With the beast interrupted and trying to recover, Arthur slowed down his speed, letting his stamina recover faster. He drank more water to speed up the process and only started running once the beast had gotten up.

ONKHHHHHHH!!

The enraged Razer Tusk Boar let out a loud cry as steam escaped from is snout. It trampled everything that was on the ground and rapidly approached Arthur.

"Fuck! Did it get faster than before?" Arthur was a bit caught off guard.

But he didn't lose his focus. His mind ran at the speed of lightning as another solution presented to him.

'That… might just work.' A possible yet crazy idea appeared in Arthur's mind.

He changed his direction once more, running towards the west now.

"Let's hope it is still there." Arthur prayed silently while putting his all in running.

He continued to run for five more minutes before another warning popped up.

>Player Arzhur's Stamina has fallen to 50%!<

"Come on… Just a bit more. I know you're nearby." Arthur said, while his eyes frantically searched for his target.

ONKH!

The loud grunt of the Boar was heard again, causing Arthur to feel unnerved. The distance between the two started to fall again, but then he spotted what he had come here for.

"FOUND YOU!"
