Emma pouted. "Hey! Players love quirky dungeons! It's better than the same old doom-and-gloom stuff."
Allen leaned back, smirking. "Quirky? You mean nightmare fuel?"
"Oh, come on," Emma said, throwing her hands up. "You have to admit it's creative."
Allen stared at her for a long moment before sighing. "Creative isn't the word I'd use. Infuriating? Sure. Bizarre? Definitely. But creative?" He shook his head, taking another bite of his food.
Emma crossed her arms, sulking. "You're just mad because it made you uncomfortable."
"That's putting it mildly," Allen said, leaning back in his chair. "I couldn't even look at this salmon without thinking of those mermaids waving at me. Thanks for that, Emma."
Emma's pout dissolved into a grin. "That means I made it!" she said, clapping her hands in triumph. Her laugh was bright, almost childlike, as she leaned forward, clearly proud of herself.
