Chapter 3: Trial

Jiang Li took a deep breath. The digital interface in front of him flickered, bringing up a new panel filled with various features and information about the system.

[Welcome to the League of Legends System, Traveler 0084742-A. This system is designed to assist you as you learn more about your new world. Below is an overview of the system's features. 

[1. User Stats: Your current status, including attributes, abilities, and skills]

[2. Virtual Map: A dynamic map charting all the places you have visited. This map updates in real time.]

[3. Shop: A virtual store where you can buy items using coins provided by the system, when completing missions, defeating enemies, and discovering new areas ]

{4. Missions: Completing missions rewards you with attribute points, skill points, and valuable items.]

[5. Champion Shards: Champions are rewarded when they achieve a big accomplishment and can be used to unlock abilities.]

[6. Inventory: A space to store items, having six slots for equipping items.]

As Jiang Li absorbed the information, the system's voice chimed in again.

[Hint: The player has triggered the tutorial mission.]

Mission Difficulty: D

Mission Description: Select one of the following five champions and train under them to learn their skills.

Duration: One week

Reward: Skills based on the completion of the mission

Punishment: Unknown

Jiang Li's eyes widened as he read the mission details. "Trial of Heroes?" He was excited. This was a chance to gain supernatural abilities.

A new panel appeared, displaying five champions from the League of Legends universe. 

[Master Yi - The Wuju Bladesman: Master Yi's abilities focus on agility, swordsmanship, and meditation, making him a formidable fighter and a wise mentor.]

[Lux - The Lady of Luminosity: Lux excels in light-based magic, offering powerful spells and supportive abilities to control and damage her foes.]

[Miss Fortune - The Bounty Hunter: Miss Fortune's skills revolve around marksmanship, agility, and a keen sense for tracking and taking down her targets.]

[Darius - The Hand of Noxus: Darius is a brutal and skilled warrior whose abilities focus on raw strength and combat prowess, making him a fearsome opponent on the battlefield.]

[Ahri - The Nine-Tailed Fox: Ahri's charm and deceptive magic allow her to manipulate and outmaneuver her enemies, combining agility with powerful spells.]

Jiang Li pondered his choices before asking, "What happens if I fail the mission?"

[The host will have a harder time surviving or gaining other abilities.]

Nodding, Jiang Li once again considered his option. He immediately eliminated Lux and Ahri, as they had magical skills that couldn't be passed down. 

He then looked at Darius and Miss Fortune. While Darius's raw strength and combat prowess were impressive, Jiang Li realized that he might not have the physical build or endurance to match Darius's brutal training. The same logic applied to Miss Fortune; her marksmanship and agility were valuable, but they required innate talent and a lot of physical conditioning that he wasn't sure he could achieve quickly.

Finally, Jiang Li focused on Master Yi. The Wuju Bladesman's emphasis on agility, swordsmanship, and meditation seemed more adaptable and achievable. He could train his body and mind through discipline, and Yi's skills offered a balanced approach to both offense and defense.

"I'll go with Master Yi," Jiang Li decided, selecting the image of the Wuju Bladesman. The interface responded immediately.

The champion, Master Yi, was selected. A tutorial mission was initiated. Would you like to enter]

A vertical space crack appeared in front of Jiang Li.

Jiang Li was stunned for a moment, then said, "Enter."

As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head, and his body was pulled toward the space crack.

When Jiang Li opened his eyes, he was immediately stunned by the sight before him. He found himself standing in the ruins of the ruins of a village. The houses were dilapidated, some with collapsed roofs and others with broken windows. Schools and shrines stood desolate, their structures showing signs of decay. The land around him seemed to be drained of its color, with the field being ashen gray.

Graves were arranged in rows throughout the village square, each coffin having a sword driven through it.
