"sweetie im heading back to work. Remember the rules" she said giving me a hug. "yeah i know dont open the door for anyone except lya, got it" i said .

She smiled and picked up her keys and bag from the counter and went out the door.

I guess its just me and the house all day. I sighed as i dragged myself to the sitting room, i switched to my netflix account. "What new movie interests me " i muttered to myself while scrolling.

I clicked on ' On the beat '. Let's just hope its nothing like feel the beat. While the movie was loading i got some snacks ready and sat on the couch.

I really regret watching this movie . I groaned as the credit rolled, i picked up the trash and threw them away , cleaning up the sitting room before mom gets back. Just on cue my phone rang.

"Hey mom " i said

"Hey Ailin, just got a call from my manager ill be coming home really late" she yawned. "Can't you maybe tell them there's an emergency or something" i shrugged. "Honey i cant do that, this is where our income comes from" she sighed. "Okay mom see you tommorow then" i said then the line went dead. I dialled Lya's number asking her to come over and in less than a minute the door bell rang. "How the hell did you get here fast."

"I was around " she shrugged.

I stepped aside letting her pass through .

"so what's up with you and bothering the new kid" she said sitting- no jumping on my sofa.

"He deserves to open up you know i hate quiet people" i shrugged.

"Or you find him rather hot"she wiggled her brows.

it took all that was in me not to gag right now , i mean he is not bad but still ew.

"No i just said that to get him to talk" i said

"wait let me get this straight, you told him that he is hot" she said stifling her laughter.

What have i gotten myself into .

"Yes i did, can we drop the topic" I groaned.

"How's your mum" she said dropping the topic as told

"she's doing her best alot of things pulling her down. so much things to do at work" i shrugged.

"she'll survive it" she said giving me her brightest smile.

"you know at times i wish dad was here, she wont be doing things so stressful" i sniffed holding back my tears, memories of dad going through my head.

"everything happens for a reason" she shrugged pulling me into a tight hug. i don't really mind how tight, I really need this .

"I think imma head to bed " i said giving her a tight lipped smile.

"Alright, goodnight" she said placing a kiss on my cheek before striding out the door.

I double checked if the doors were locked properly. I switched off all the lights leaving only the front porch headlights on. I brushed my teeth and changed into my pyjamas and went straight to bed.
