Tasks Master

Happy with his list he wanted to try an idea he saw. When Grimmal was raised from the dead he lost his poison on his attack and it transformed into necrotic element. He wanted to recreate that in his weapon. Or all the weapons if it's possible.

Going with his list of ranks he wanted to start with his own weapon. He wanted his main weapon to be a Khopesh. He loved its unique design and thought it would pair well with his Blood Drain skill.

First he took an inventory of Alpha bones he wanted to use for this weapon. Looking through he could only make 2 of these weapons. Not many chances.

First he channeled his mama into his hands and began to mold the bone into shape. Giving a slight curve to the blade. This allowed it to make deeper cuts and hopefully allow his skill to drain more blood.

His first idea was to channel mana through his mouth and into the red mist, like his Bone Restore skill. This was the part he struggled with. Not only did he have to focus his mana through his hands at the correct amount as not to make the bone explode, but he also had to channel it through his mouth just enough for it to become a mist and covered the blade.

Nearly an hour pasted as he focused on this task. He coated the entire sword in the red mist and heated the bone just enough for the mist to enter. He would retract his mana/heat to trap the mist inside. As soon as he did the sword started to shake violent. Lovo stopped what he was doing and immediately threw the sword across the room.

*BOOM*

The bones shattered to pieces like glass on impact.

"FUCK! I only have so many of those. What am I doing wrong? Did I force it in and not meld it? Is that why?"

Seeing no other option he decided to test this theory. He only had one more chance to get it right. And his mana was draining faster then he thought. He couldn't make more weapons or armor today.

'Sorry guys. I'll make stuff for you tomorrow.'

Getting back to the task at hand he heated his hands with mana and begun shaping the bone. Making it into the similar shape he decided to try something new. Instead of using both hands he used one on the sword and another off of it. The hand on the sword he channeled more mana into it making it hotter to compensate for the missing hand.

With his free hand he began to channel his mana there again, but this time differently. He tried to mimic the same feeling of his Bone Restore skill. After a couple moments red mist started to appear from his finger tips.

"Got it!"

He placed his hand back on the blade. With both hands he simultaneously infused his heated mana and his mist mana into the blade. He could feel the two types of mana melding together and with the bone.

Then it stopped.

Lovo was out of mana.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Lovo cursed and moaned over the failure. The sword still had cracks and was obviously not complete. It was comparable to a blacksmith who forgot to quench his sword. Not good.

He took the sword in hand and examined it.

[ Bone Khopesh: Damage 8

-Blade houses dark energy but isn't complete.

Weapon Grade: F]

[Skill Gain: Enchanting]

Lovo was both confused and delighted.

"So I was on the right track with infusing two types of mana. But I fucking ran out of it! Great!"

Giving up he left the sword on the table and went to the secret chambers.

"Maybe I can wake up that stupid Lord Karik" he said mockingly.

He walked into the secret chamber and noticed the skull Lord Karik inhabited seemed to move for a brief second. He took another step forward and the skull glanced at him and moved back to its original position. Taking another step he spoke out.

"Lord Karik. Are you awake?"

The skull moved in place to face him.

"Julki is that you? Why do you look like me? Where am I? What's going on?"

Confused Lovo replied.

"What do you mean? It's me Lovo. Mark Lovo. You transferee your soul to that skull and I some how inhabited your body. Are you okay?"

The skull closed its jaw and began to think again. Almost like he was trying to remember what happened.

"Ah yes. Mark my apologies. I almost forgot."

This didn't reassure Lovo.

"Oh! That's right! Lose the name Mark. It's not a good vampire name. Just go out Lord Lovo."

Lovo shook his head. "Yes Lord Karik."

"Good. I'm also feeling generous today and have a list of stuff you must complete within the next three months."

"Ah before that. I have some questions of my own."

The skull shook itself as if he was saying no.

"You may ask two questions. I am an important person. Very busy. Thinking. What are your questions."

Lord Karik seemed to be very short with him.

"Let me think it over, Lord Karik."

The skull closed its mouth and remained silent. Lovo wasn't sure if Lord Karik was letting him think or if he went back into his own mind and forgot about him.

After some time Lovo had his questions.

"Lord Karik. I have my two questions."

The jaw of the skull opened.

"It's about time! I've been waiting for days for your questions. Time is of the essence for my list of tasks."

'It hasn't been days'

"My apologies Lord Karik. My first question pertains to the Enchanting skill I have. I tried channeling my mana through both hands. One hand I used my Bone Manipulation Craft skill and the other I just allowed my mana to turn into a mist to infuse what I was crafting. I know you said I don't need to learn magical spells yet but I think I'm on the right track."

The jaw of the skull slightly opened wider.

"Only after a single day you are trying to learn Enchanting?! That is astonishing. Granted that was slightly slower then me but I will help you. Yes you are on the right track. You are doing the very basics of Enchanting. Although, the only thing you are doing is in fusing the item with your natural mana. Example. Since you are a necromancer you have necrotic mana. Just infusing that your item will have some necrotic affect. So if a person has natural fire mana then their weapon will deal additional fire damage."

"Huh okay. That makes sense."

"Now listen. In the academy that just teach you to just infuse your mana and your done. But it's not that simple! Many mages don't focus on Enchanting. They only do the basics and then focus on their spells. For us it's different. As Vampires time is our ally. We can focus in Enchanting for centuries and then move over to our spells. Now this a a trade secret for those that focus on Enchanting learn that isn't taught. Mana is a living energy. Well technically all energy is alive but mana is the embodiment of it. So when you are Enchanting you are channeling life into your object. You must not only use your mana but also your imagination! Think of what the mana does with its life in said object you Enchant!"

Lovo's eyes nearly popped out of his head! Mana being a living energy! It would have taken him forever to discover that! It made sense! His necrotic mana was death magic but death is still part of life. Each type of magic was a part of life. Lord Karik is definitely powerful, or was? Either way he can definitely help Lovo skip the trial and error for the toughest of skills.

"Okay for my last question. Can you teach me a skill or spell that will allow me to carry bones? It's annoying to just carry them around."

"Ahahahaha. Yes. Once you reach level five you will learn a skill to help." If Karik had a body it would almost seem like he was waving him off.

"Now for my list."

"Wait wait wait! That's not fair I didn't know it was a natural skill. I want to change my question."

"You asked and I answered. It's only fair. It's not my fault you didn't know" Lord Karik said mockingly.

"But that's why I asked the questioned. Because I didn't know. At least allow me to ask a different question about my class for the future. So I can plan ahead."

Lord Karik sighed, or whatever he could as a skull.

"Fine. Anything for you Julki. Now what is your question?"

Lovo ignored that.

"You said that as a Necromancer I can specialize once I reach level ten. What are my options if specializations."

"Ahhhh good question! That's my apprentice! There are many times for you to specialize in but those that you unlock all depend on what skills you train. I will make the three base specializations and the unique one I picked. For the base forms there are Bone, Flesh and Abomination. Bone is the generic necromancer. Focusing on pure skeletons and Bone golems. The flesh is more zombies and Draugr and mummies. The Abomination is a hybrid of the two. Creating Grave Horrors and Hell Beasts. My specialization was Soul Syphon. An advance form of a unique specialization. Soul form is about controlling someone's very soul or creating summons that are ethereal and deadly. Having a unique skill of being able to ignore a targets armor and pierce their very being. Although they have a weakness of magic hurts them twice as much. I did learn to negate that weakness for a time. I was so powerful those that were weak willed would have their soul weakened just by being near me!"

Lovo took the information in. He tried to guess what he would go with or what unique form he would get. He pushed those thoughts to the side.

"What is your list Lord Karik?"

"Ah yes! You must kill these three monsters within the next three months; a Grand Mimic, Shifter Bear and a Forest Spirit. You must collect a sample of their body and blood. Oh and you must reach level twenty as a minimum for the next part!"
