Evolutions

The day went by fast after Sheva and Kelagar left.

Lovo, Toma, Gorga and some other goblins stayed inside the castle cleaning up. Cosmo followed Lovo around like a baby duck following its mother. Every thought it was kinda cute. Cosmo wasn't even a foot tall and made Lovo seem much taller then he was.

The group spend the day cleaning up the interior of the castle. Lovo had Gorga lift some of the broken statues and toss them outside the castle walls.

Neasa spent her time in the library reading. She wanted to study as much as she could to eventually help Lord Lovo with whatever he had planned for the future.

Gega and Kipi were out hunting game along with the other hunters. Unfortunately Master Fontana was the only other person who could use Green Magic, besides Neasa. Master Fontana was using magic to help their crop grow faster. Instead of taking a 14 days for crops to grow it would take half that time.

Thankfully the Forest Goblins knew exactly what crops to get.

Flamebuds, Fullbeats and Nightberries, best crops to have for a starting settlement. Flamebuds are not only a good spice to add to food but also helps restore stamina for on the go adventurers. A good vegetable to help make you full are the Fullbeats. When added to any meal with high protein this vegetable helps the protein to build muscle.

Nightberries are the most dangerous of the three crops. Most militaries have this stashes of this food when on a military campaign. This single food can help anyone sleep better for a shorter time. When a person eats a 5 of these berries they can get a full nights rest in only 4 hours. What makes this fruit dangerous is its addictive property, that requires magic to recover from. And if the person eats more then 5 within 24 hour time frame they will go into a coma like state till death.

It's a good thing the Forest Goblins know about this.

By the time the sun started to set Gega, Kipi and the hunters came back with half a dozen rabbits and a Goreboar. Two of the hunters ended up getting badly wounded trying to kill the Goreboar. Which they viewed as worth it as the Goreboar would be able to feed everyone for a week.

Seeing how little food they got Gorga decided he should learn to hunt as well. A single Goreboar would feed him for a couple days.

Maybe we should tame them he thought.

Once the sun fully set and everyone was sitting around the campfire eating Lovo bid them all goodnight.

He made his way to Julki and saw he was ready to hatch.

"Well of course! Welcome back Julki!"

The red egg started to crack! It slowly started as a handful of cracks and those grew more and more till the entire egg was more crack then egg.

The egg shattered like glass.

Julki stood there. He was nearly a foot taller, little over 6ft, and his bones were much larger and thicker. If Lovo has to describe him he looked like a the hybrid of a football player and a their padding they wear.

Skills:

Raise Undead: costs 20 mana + 10 mana per level of creature. 0/2

Dark Bolt: Costs 15 mana and deals 30 points of magical damage.

- the faster channels dark magic into a bolt of enters to attack their foes.

Leaders Rally: Costs 50 mana and heals undead within 30ft. Casters Level times targets level is the HP gained.

-The caster channels their Baleful energy to rally those around them.

Chosen Guard: Lowers max mana by 10 for each target picked. Chosen targets gain boosted Strength and Constitution.

-The caster channels their Anointed energy to enhance those around them.

Abilities:

Undead Fortitude: as an undead poison has no affect on you.

- gain immunity to poison and 15 constitution.

Night Sight: can see in the dark as though it was day.

Natural Fear: Being a creature of the night the living fear you.

-living creatures within 15ft of you will have an over looming fear of you.

Commanders Guidance: (passive) Chosen Guards and all allies within 10ft of you gain +5 Lck and +5 Dex.

Baleful Aura: (passive) Chosen Guards and all undead allies within 5ft gain the Regeneration Ability.

Regeneration: (passive) will naturally regenerate 2 HP per second. Fire or Holy damage will stop this affect for 5 seconds. ]

Lovo just whistled!

"That's amazing Julki! You are technically stronger then I am, but that's kinda the point of undead summons right?"

Immediately after Julki stood over bone piles and raised his hand.

Lovo knew what this was!

He was using Raise Undead skill.

A green black mist started to pour out of his hand.

"Guess you have dark and maybe green magic?"

The mist slowly swept over the piles of bone before it split in two. The mist swallowed two piles of bones and started to reshape them.

It was Atlas and Bulwark!

"Well that's actually a pleasant surprise! Glad to see you two back."

Bulwark and Atlas just nodded back at him.

Before he said anything else Julki was using another skill. This time he held an open palmed hand at each of them. The same green black mist flowed out and surrounded the two. Atlas and Bulwark seemed to absorb the mist and they gained a dark green tint to their bones.

Immediately after the mist seemed to seep out of the two, grabbed more bones and pulled it into their bodies. They slowly started to get thicker bone bodies. Atlas was still taller then Julki, standing at 6"5', while Bulwark was shorter and much bulkier. Bulwark stood at the same height as Lovo, 5"10.

"Oh! Julki, Atlas and Bulwark. You all need to meet Yevn and Cosmo."

Slowly Yevn rose from Lovo's shadow and showed himself to Atlas and Bulwark. Cosmo just ran around them barking happily.

"Now that that's settled. I'll make new gear for you guys with the Ogre bones after I do my evolution."

Lovo went to the secret study and found Neasa reading even more books. She was sitting at one of the tables with 5 books on either side of her while she was reading another.

"Call me impressed. You truly enjoy reading Huh?"

Neasa didn't hear him. She was too engrossed in her reading.

Lovo chuckled and walked up to her desk and lightly tapped it.

*Knock* *Knock*

Neasa quickly jumped in her seat!

"Lord Lovo! When did you get here?"

"Hahaha. I've been here for a while. Even called you a few times."

Neasa turned red.

"It's fine it's fine. Can you do me a favor. Even though the sun just set, but can you go grab Toma and Fontana for me please?"

"Yes Lord Lovo."

Nease marked her book, closed it and left to fetch the two.

Lovo waited a few minutes before the three shower back up.

"Lord Lovo. I brought Toma and Master Fontana as you requested."

'I like having a secretary' Lovo thought to himself.

"Lord Lovo" Toma said with a bow.

Master Fontana did the same.

"I called you here to let you know I'll be indisposed for a day or possibly more. I'm undergoing my evolution."

This came as a shock!

"You are already going into your evolution? Is this your second or third one?" Toma asked.

"Can we witness this even? I've never seen a monster undergo its evolution" Master Fontana asked as well.

"Haha. Yes it's fine to watch. This will be my first evolution. I'm going to put the three of you in charge and want you to vote on things that need to happen. I'll have Julki stand guard over me as I evolve."

"Your first evolution?!" Toma was stunned. Some monsters need to evolve to become a Vampire. Usually undead that have no master.

Even Master Fontana and Neasa knew that a Vampire was normally a third or forth evolution for monsters. Lord Lovo definitely had some secrets if he was born a Vampire. They started to think, if this was his first evolution how powerful would he get?!

"Julki can you come out?"

The three just realized they haven't seen Julki for a while. Neasa didn't even notice the huge red egg in the other room. She was always nose deep in a book.

As Julki came out from behind a bookshelf the three only had one thought. To run. They all felt like they were prey that came face to face with their predator.

This was Lovo's plan. He wanted to shock his own people. He trusted them but wanted to prove he was the strongest around. He didn't want anyone questioning his authority.

"Now I'm going to be tucked away in this room for my evolution. Julki has command and will be on guard duty with Atlas and Bulwark. And…Oh! I almost forgot!"

Lovo turned to look down at his shadow.

"Yevn. Stay in Julki's shadow till I'm finished evolving."

As soon as he said that everyone watched as Lovo's shadow slowly morphed and slowly raised form the ground. It was Yevn the Shade. He nodded to Lovo's command and dove into Julki's shadow.

"Now if you'll all excuse me."

Lovo walked to a corner of the room, same side as Lord Karik, and opened his menu to his evolution.
