Back to Crafting

Realizing that the bones have different impurities he figured he can do what a blacksmith would. Combine each material to weed out the impurities.

He stopped building the swords the Kipi and Toma and focused on making a spear for Gega.

He took the spine of a human and half the spine of a Wolfaconda. He first heated them up and twisted them together. Once they were combined he slowly started to shave parts off and blend the two together. After 30 minutes he was satisfied with his work.

[Hybrid Bone Spine: 30% impurities]

'Hey that's pretty decent for how old the human bones are.'

[Hybrid Bone Progress: 1%]

'Huh? That's weird. I'll have to ask Karik about that later.'

He went back to making the spear. The goblins were slightly confused why he would randomly stop and look at the bones. They were just bones?

Going through his pile he found two of the fangs from one of the beasts, not the Alpha, he was saving that for himself. He also grabbed two human hand bones. He pushed the palms of the hand bones together and fused them with his magic. He then took both of the fangs and started to combine and meld them together into a single elongated point. After that was finished he placed the spear head between the hands, sharpened the fingers as well. Just this piece along looked like it would be a weird trident. Or Decdent? 10 pointed trident? Whatever it was it looked great. For the final touch he attached the tip to the spine. After about an hour of making sure everything fitting correctly and make indents for the grip, he was finished.

[Hybrid Deca Spear: damage 24

Piercing Thrust: 2% chance to inflict a critical attack. Deals triple damage.

Weapon Grade: D+]

'Holy shit! This spear is amazing! Although it seems like the system ended up using the word Deca referring to the fingers.'

"Here you go Gega. Tell me how it feels and what you think."

She grabbed the spear from him. She could instantly tell Lord Lovo tried his best making this. Although it was more a pike then a spear to her. She started to use both hands when handling the spear. It was much lighter then she thought but could also tell it was very deadly! She tried to do some tricks and accidentally tripped and hit the blade against one of the cages. The blade of the spear cut a couple of the bars making up the cage wall in half.

"This is amazing Lord Lovo! Thank you so much!"

"Now time for you two."

Lovo went back to reforging the swords. This time he just added little bit more Wolfaconda bone. Mainly using its ribs to reinforce the blade, teeth for the tips and and then part of the claws for the handle.

[Serrated Bone Sword: Damage 28

5% chance to inflict bleed.

Bleed: Target takes an additional 6 points of damage every second for 7 seconds.

Weapon Grade: D+]

'Aw man! Still a D ranking? I wonder what I would need to get to C. Wonder if it's the quality of bone or what type of bone or even how many of different types? Or all three?!'

"Here you guys go." Lovo handed the two swords to Toma and Kipi.

"Thank you so much Lord Lovo!"

"Yeah thank you! Is it too much to ask to make weapons for the other hunters as well?"

"Of course not" Lovo said with a smile.

"I plan to make armor for you guys as well but I'm going to make them for my skeletons and myself first."

"That's is fine with me! Happy to get free weapons of such a good quality."

Lovo blushed slightly.

"So what other weapons do you need for your hunters? I will warn you. I can't make bows. Or at least not yet."

"That's fine with me Lord Lovo! There aren't many of us and none of the younger generation is ready to fight. If it's possible Lord Lovo I just require a shield for myself, two more for the other hunters and swords them as well. Gega seems happy with her spear."

Lovo nodded and began to get to work.

After another handful of hours Lovo made much better gear then is first time.

[Short Bone Sword: Damage 22

With weapons in hand Kipi ran off to give the other Hunters their new toys. Gega sighed and said farewell and followed him. Toma was left and apologized for their behaviors and left as well.

Now that it was night time Lovo ordered all his skeletons to come to him, but left Grimmal to watch over the Goblins. He was his highest level skeleton, even higher level then him! Grimmal can handle himself.

He ordered his skeletons to line up and started to think about what he should do for armor.

"Maybe I should base their armor off of Aldarra. Or at least my favorite faction. No! I should take elements of each that I like and make my own! Let's make a list of what I want."

Lovo went into the secret chamber and found a pen and paper. He quickly made a list of what he wanted. After rereading it he crumbled it up and tossed it away. Going back into the room he got a stack of paper. Made a list, read it, crumbled it and tossed it.

He wasn't satisfied with any of it! He loved the armor design of the dwarves and the Komi (an eastern style nation) but none of those fight his skeletons. Even the undead factions didn't have good armor for their skeletons. Just scrap metal. Granted the undead in Aldarra were a horde faction that focused on numbers. He did like the Egyptian style weapons of the Tariem. His biggest focus was building his military undead mimicking the Romarians. Which was based off of Ancient Rome.

Lovo scratched at his head just thinking about it! He eventually went back to writing and jotted down points he wanted to focus on.

1: Weapons signifies rank

2: Armor bust be uniform and able to also show rank

3: Must have Infantry, Calvary, Archers, Artillery, Mages, Assassins and Honor Guard.

-This can also be divided into sub classes. Heavy Infantry and Anti-Infantry.

Heavy Cav and Ranged Cav.

Element Archers and Armor Piercing.

AOE (area of effect) Artillery and Single Target Artillery.

4: Undead must be Elite but also rounded. Make them amazing in one skill but have enough other skills to survive without reinforcements.

5: Figure out a sigil to claim as my own.

6: Create battle tactics and siege tactics.

7: Maybe think about monstrous undead.

Looking back at his list; Lovo was satisfied. It wasn't an amazing list with a plan for everything. It was a start in the right direction.

As he thought about his first objective he started to think about weapons of rank and what class. First he wanted to think of a weapon for ranks.

"Man. I'm really crafting up a lot of ideas huh?" Lovo laughed to himself.

"Even if they don't get it I thought it was funny. Now back to this list. I'll start with one handed swords."

"I need to keep it simple, but diverse enough to have a ranking. I think either a Spartha or a Gladius would be good for the starting infantry. Then as a skeleton proves itself they can get an Arming Sword. I think they would be like squad captains. Wait! I need to think of a hierarchy first. I should have Generals and Honor Guard at the top. Granted the Generals will be leading each type of undead. General for the infantry and one for the Archers and so on. After that I should have Platoon leaders, then Squad Captains and then your base member."

Then Lovo started to dice deeper into his mind.

'What about Calvary? Do they get Lances or Spears or Swords? What about infantry that have two handed weapons? Do they do two handed swords or something like a glaive?!'

As he dived deeper he halted himself and stepped back.

"I need to keep it simple for now and work as I go. I can't plan it all out."

He slowed his breathing and focused on Swords, Maces and Bows. He'll think about pole arms at a later date.

"Okay so let me get this straight. Base infantry will get Spathas first and once they become a Squad leader they can get an Arming Sword. From their they can either one hand or two hand. Let's start with the one handed line. After that they become a Platoon Leader and will get a Long Sword. After that is my Generals; who lead my armies into battle. I should give them an unusual sword."

Lovo pondered for a moment before he got an idea.

"A Khopesh! That's it! It's a weird looking sword, but honestly a favorite of mine. Maybe I should make one for myself?"

On a sheet of paper Lovo wrote is one handed line.

"Okay next is two handed. At a Captain they can get a Great Sword instead of the Arming sword. After that as a Platoon Leader let's give them a Great Falchion like Atlas has. Think that is a great symbol of leader ship. And as for the General. Only the Flamberge will do! Even though the Zweihander is longer, I think the Flamberge has a more menacing appearance."

He wrote that on his list as well and moved on to Maces and bows.

Base infantry: Mace

Captains: Spiked Mace

Platoon Leaders: Morning Star

Generals: Mauls

Base Infantry: Short bow

Captains: Crossbow

Platoon Leaders: Composite Bow

General: Long Bow

"Well. I believe step one of my list is almost finished."
