She Challenged Him
'Of course, I knew you would lose your cool and feel anxious when you know that there are two more people to watch yours and your mistress move in this house and that was exactly why I brought them here... because from now, it's everything that causes you discomfort that I will do'.
Giavanna grinned when she saw that her husband who was excellent at acting could not put on a fake show for her at that moment.
"Also, Eve was a stranger too when we first met... I made a lot of effort and right now we are so close to the point that she calls me Big Sis, am I right?" Giavanna challenged, her eyes darted to Eve's face.
"You can make an effort too like I did.... ouch!" Giavanna whimpered, the moment Xander tightened his grip on her.
"Are you alright Bae, Babe!" The two guys asked.
Roman yanked Xander's hand away from her while Zeus immediately held her hand and blew hot air on it.
Xander and Eve perplexed expression didn't escape Giavanna's notice.
'Who says you are the only one who can cheat in this relationship?'
Giavanna smirked devilishly as she continued to fake a pained expression.
"I am fine. And you didn't have to do that to him. It was my fault for upsetting him," Giavanna switched from her fierce self earlier to the gentle and sweet lady everyone knew her to be without any difficulties.
The sweet smile lingering on the corner of her lips almost made them believe that the scene she challenged Xander was their imagination.
"Sorry, but I won't see you off today. I am too exhausted. I hope you don't blame me for that, darling?" Giavanna implored. She puts on her sweetest smile.
When he didn't say anything, she turned and made her way upstairs with the two guys accompanying her.
"What the hell just happened earlier?" Xander mumbled, her gaze focused on the back of the lady who was now on the stairs.
"You have a meeting with Mr Jerry this morning. Let's go or you are gonna be late," Eve mouthed.
She held his hand and together they approached the enormous entrance.
As they made their way to the entrance they didn't see Giavanna paused in the middle of the stairs and diverted her attention to them.
"Their illicit relationship was so obvious, I wonder why I never saw the handwriting on the wall when it was just in front of my eyes?" Giavanna mumbled, her grip around Roman's hand tightened but he didn't make a sound despite that she was at the brink of snapping his hand.
"I guess because you loved him way too much... you were blinded by your love for him and you trusted him unconditionally. You were never at fault for this but he is to be blamed," Roman whispered.
"Yeah, Roman is right. I can't believe he would choose a wood over a rare gemstone. He must have some problems with his head," Zeus chirped as he stroked her hand affectionately.
"Hmm... you guys are correct. He is the blind one for choosing her over me," She beamed and continued to climb the stairs.
Outside of the house where Xander's car was parked some distance away from the fountain at the front of the house, Xander stared at the entrance even though they were inside the car.
"Let's get going," Eve said to the driver when Xander wouldn't say anything. The driver ignited the car and zoomed off afterwards.
On the busy road, Eve kept stealing glances at the guy beside her. Although the distance between them was so close, his mind seemed to have travelled miles.
He didn't spare her a glance not to mention playing naughty with her like he was fond of doing anytime they leave for the office.
"If this is about how she acted..."
"Eve, did you notice how strange Giavanna was?... they might have the same face but it felt as if I was meeting her for the first time," Xander relayed. He spared her his gaze at long last.
"Of course I did," Eve blurted and adjusted the way she sat.
"Last night I was worried she would return to take revenge on us because of what she witnessed that night a year ago. I was so certain of this fact until she agreed to let me continue living in the house with you," Eve said, a victorious smile plastered on her pretty face.
"Tell me, which girl in her right senses would condone sharing her home with her husband's lover," Eve said without an ounce of shame.
She twirled his tie around her index finger only to pull it so their faces were some inches away.
"Maybe they are women out there who would have done this but definitely not Giavanna... she is head over heels for you and wouldn't tolerate such an act of betrayal...,"
"This is exactly why I think there is something different about her. She loves me so much and that is why she has never for once raised her voice at me but you saw what happened in there earlier...,"
"I guess she lost her cool because you were so against the idea. You even called her friends random men, don't you remember?" Eve quizzed.
She raised her right hand and started stroking his face.
"They called her Bae and Babe. Does that sound as if they were mere friends....."
"And so what if they are more than friends, what is wrong with that?" Eve lost her cool and snapped at him.
