Giavanna Could Not Say No

"Have you forgotten that the doctor forbids you from eating or drinking any substance that contains caffeine?" Aurora asked, her scrutinising eyes focused on Giavanna's face.

"Ooh..." Giavanna exclaimed and leaned her back against the couch with her hands placed on her thighs.

"And what is that reaction hmm? Don't tell me you forgot such an important instruction?" Aurora asked suspiciously.

"Talking about the doctor's instructions or my life will bore you to death, so why don't we talk about you huh?" Giavanna winked naughtily at the lady by her side. She didn't make it obvious that she wanted to avoid the topic.

"You said you rushed back from where you went for a vacation, so why don't we start from there?" Giavanna teased. Giavanna shifted closer to Aurora almost rubbing her body against hers.

Immediately, the excited Aurora went ahead and relayed everything that happened while she was away.

But she was careful enough not to mention a sensitive topic like Madam Henry's death and burial.

"Since you went on a vacation in Paris, that means you brought back tons of goodies and souvenirs..." Giavanna trailed off. She raised her right hand and extended it towards Aurora.

"So where is my share of the gifts?" She asked with her hand still stretched forth.

"Didn't I mention that yesterday was supposed to be my second day of vacation? I didn't get the opportunity to explore that beautiful city, not to mention go shopping," Aurora grumbled while rubbing her palms together.

"I was so excited when I heard you had returned. All I wanted was to return and be with you and there was no more space in my head to spare for any other things," Aurora added.

She reached out her hand and tried to pick a cookie from the floral plate on the table but Giavanna beats her to it.

"Awwn... that was very sweet of you," Giavanna beamed and brought the cookie she carried close to Aurora's lips.

"You sacrificed your vacation for my sake and it's only right that I make it up to you with a worthy shopping," Giavanna mumbled and smiled at the surprised lady beside her.

"Wait here, I will go upstairs and change now so we can leave," Giavanna informed her. She stood up and tried to walk away but Aurora grabbed her hand just in time.

"It's quite windy outside. I am afraid your body won't be able to handle it, so why don't we just forget about the shopping. I am ok with just hanging out with you here..."

"You might be ok but I am not," Giavanna declared.

"Only a day has passed since I came back and I am bored to death. I believe hanging out with my Rora will do the trick..."

"But Gia..."

"If you are worried I will fall sick if I get exposed to the chilly wind outside, then I will say that is unnecessary. I am very healthy now," Giavanna assured her with a radiant smile glowing from her beautiful face.

"Also, I will advise that you don't feel bad later when you discover that your energy can't match mine ok?" Giavanna teased playfully.

She tapped Aurora's hand affectionately and made her way to the staircase afterwards.

"Your energy doesn't have to match or surpass mine but I will be satisfied if you don't faint in my arms like the last time," Aurora screamed, thinking the lady at the stairs wouldn't hear her if she spoke normally.

Giavanna smiled and responded with a wave of the hand as she continued to ascend the stairs.

Some minutes later, Giavanna returned to the sitting room clad in a white short dress with her long black cascading her back.

"Gia, I told you it was windy outside so how come you are dressed this way?" Aurora scolded. She sprang up from her seat and approached where the fully dressed Giavanna stood.

It was after Giavanna took a good look at herself that she understood why Aurora had that expression on her face when she was dressed just fine.

Because of her delicate health condition in the past, she dared not dress in light clothes, not even in summer or winter.

The slightest change in the weather would force her to stay in the hospital for days and that was why her late mother never joked about anything that would affect her health.

But things changed drastically after she became a vampire. She dresses however she pleased and does whatever her heart desires without any worries.

Giavanna never had to worry about her health since falling sick wasn't in a vampire's dictionary.

That is how she lived her life this past year. She totally forgot about her previous lifestyle.

"Stacy," Aurora called as she shifted her focus to where the lady stood.

"Go upstairs and get your Madam the thickest clothes you find in her closet," Aurora instructed firmly.

"I don't think that is necessary, Rora. Besides, my belongings had been displaced. I am sure Stacy wouldn't be able to locate what you are searching for even if she searched for ten minutes," Giavanna grumbled.

"That is why I suggest we leave..."

"Forget about going anywhere if she doesn't get you what I asked for," Aurora said with a tone of finality.

She beckoned Stacy to do as she had ordered despite that Giavanna wanted otherwise.

"How did she become so much like my mother?" Giavanna grumbled under her breath.

"What did you say?" Aurora asked, curious to know the words Giavanna mumbled.
