Chapter 3: A Dragon's Revelation

The next day dawned with anticipation as Ethan prepared to embark on his journey into the hidden world of dragons. He took the metro to the outskirts of Arcadia. There he met Amelia and Lily in a secluded park. This park was called "Evergreen Meadows Park" and was known for its serene beauty and natural connection to the elements. Ethan never went to parks often because he found them too troublesome.

As Ethan approached, he noticed the air crackling with energy. Amelia stood tall, her eyes gleaming with excitement and reassurance. Lily, the ever the beacon of youthful enthusiasm, twirled around in a circle, her laughter carrying through the breeze. Her white dress twirled around in the air.

"Are you ready, Ethan?" Amelia asked, her voice a melodic harmony.

Ethan nodded, his heart pounding with a mix of trepidation and excitement. "As ready as I'll ever be. Show me the hidden world of dragons."

Amelia gestured toward a nearby grove of ancient trees. "Beyond these trees lies a gateway to the Dragon's Den. This is where dragons gather, shedding their human forms to embrace their true nature. But I must warn you, Ethan, the sight can be overwhelming. Dragons are majestic creatures, and their true forms carry immense power."

Ethan swallowed hard, his nerves tingling with anticipation and uncertainty. He glanced at Lily, who gazed back at him with unwavering trust and excitement. She waved at him and gave him a look of encouragement.

Taking a deep breath, Ethan followed Amelia and Lily into the grove. As they walked deeper into the woods, the sounds of the city faded away, replaced by the soft rustle of leaves and the distant song of birds. A gentle breeze whispered through the trees as if guiding them toward their destination. Then, he felt a slight resistance. It was as if he was encased in jelly. Ethan quickly looked at Amelia to ask what was going on.

"Ethan, you do not need to worry. This is a barrier that prevents humans from entering our safe space." Amelia clarified.

Ethan listened and nodded. This eased his doubts about the current situation he got himself into.

Finally, they arrived at a clearing bathed in ethereal light. It seemed as though the veil between the human world and the realm of dragons had been lifted. As Ethan's eyes adjusted to the sight before him, his breath caught in his throat.

Dragons of all shapes and sizes roamed the clearing, their scales shimmering in hues of emerald, sapphire, and amethyst. Some lay there with their wings unfurled and sunbathing. Others glided through the air with grace and majesty. Their presence exuded a raw power that resonated deep within Ethan's soul.

Amelia placed her hand on Ethan's arm, grounding him in the moment. "Take it all in, Ethan. Witness the true essence of our kind."

Lily tugged at Ethan's hand, her eyes wide with excitement. "Look, Ethan! See that one? The one with the silver scales? That's my friend, Annie. She's really nice!"

Ethan followed Lily's gaze and saw a dragon with shimmering silver scales, its eyes filled with wisdom and kindness. Annie dipped her head in acknowledgment before taking flight, dancing among the clouds.

"Mommy, can I go and play with Annie?" Lily asked her mother with puppy eyes.

"Yes, dear. I'll show Ethan around in the meantime."

Lily transformed into a small dragon similar to Annie. But she had ruby-red scales that reminded him of her eyes.

"See you later, Ethan, Mommy!" She darted off and flew to her friend.

The sight overwhelmed Ethan, a mixture of awe and disbelief intertwining within him. Dragons. He once believed to be mere legends and now roamed freely before his eyes. This was absurd.

As if sensing his thoughts, Amelia whispered, "Ethan, the presence of dragons in the human world has always been kept secret, a delicate balance between two realms. But now, it's time to embrace your heritage and awaken the dragon within you."

Ethan's mind whirled with questions and uncertainties. He had always felt a longing for something more, something beyond the ordinary. But this revelation shook the foundation of his perception of reality. Yet, deep down, he couldn't deny the pull within him, the yearning to explore the depths of his own magic.

With resolve shining in his eyes, Ethan turned to Amelia. "Teach me, Amelia. Help me unlock the dormant magic within me. I want to embrace my dragon heritage."

Amelia's face radiated with pride and joy, but she also wore a contemplative expression.

"Ethan, for you, the awakening process may be more challenging. Unlike Lily, who discovered her dragon nature at a young age, you have lived most of your life unaware of your heritage. But do not lose hope, for your dragon form can still be awakened."

Ethan felt a mixture of determination and apprehension as he absorbed Amelia's words. He understood finding his dragon form would require more effort and perseverance. But he was willing to face the challenges head-on.

Amelia continued, her voice filled with encouragement. "We will begin with meditation and visualization exercises. Through deep introspection, you will connect with the essence of your dragon lineage. It will take time, patience, and unwavering belief in yourself. Which I believe you possess."

They walked a while to find a place to sit down. As they were walking, Ethan observed the Den. This place was huge and almost like a separate dimension. He felt he was transported to a fantasy world like those Japanese mangas he read in his free time. The clearing split into two directions as he came face to face with a giant cliff.

Below was a big lake surrounded by a forest. The lush greenery made this scene very idyllic.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

Ethan heard Amelia's voice and couldn't help but agree.

"Well, let's sit down here and get comfortable" Amelia walked to a tree on his right and put out a blanket before sitting down gracefully. Ethan did not know where it came from as it happened instantly. He assumed it was magic since dragons are real. His mind opened up after this encounter.

"Well, shall we get started?" Amelia asked with a smile.

As the dragons soared overhead, their majestic forms casting fleeting shadows on the ground, Ethan took his first step into a world beyond imagination. With Amelia and Lily by his side, he embarked on a journey that would awaken his true potential and forever intertwine his destiny with the enchanting world of dragons.
