4. Mom's hope

"Dinda, I'm picking you up now."

Dinda sat in the lobby of the building waiting for Arya to pick her up. Their status is actually just ordinary friends for Dinda. But because Arya almost every day shuttles Dinda to and from work, people who see must think they are lovers. Although, Dinda and Arya have never been seeing holding hands.

"Have you been waiting for so long?" Arya started the car.

"No, it's okay." Dinda smiled reassuringly at the doctor next to her.

"You don't need to pick me up everyday. Isn't your girlfriend angry?" Dinda asked softly.

"You're my girlfriend, hahahaha." Arya laughed innocently. Whether he realized it or not, there was a heart that suddenly froze hearing his sudden words.

"What does it mean?" Dinda asked.

Arya parked the car to the side of the road under the shade of a tree in front of a luxury housing they passed.

"Din, will you be my girlfriend?" Arya turned her body to the girl sitting next to him. An innocent girl with light makeup wore a fresh orange pleated skirt below the knee with a short-sleeved white shirt. Simple without the impression of sexy and revealing elements but looks naturally beautiful.

"Uhm … Did you ask me to date with you?" Dinda looked at Arya doubtfully.

"Actually, I've been eagerly to date you for a long time. But finding a right moment is not as simple as I think." Arya's smile almost broke Dinda's defenses, which had been countless who hoped to be her boyfriend.

"Why should it be me? Don't you like Shelly? I know she has a crush on you."

"So if there are millions of girls who have a crush on me, I have to accept them?" Arya started to show her arrogance which Dinda thought was so funny.

"Don't you feel regretful going out with me? I'm not as beautiful as your fans." Dinda reiterated.

"Fans? I'm just a doctor, not an artist. Since when did doctors have fans? Hehehe." Arya tapped the steering wheel slowly.

"Give me some time to say yes ..."

"Hmm okay. Now let's eat first. I'm hungry because I haven't eaten since lunch." Arya continued her car to one of the famous Javanese restaurants nearby Manggarai.

"Do you know Din? Why do I want you to be my girlfriend? Actually, for our age who are not teenagers anymore, dating is far from our term. But, it's impossible for me to ask you to marry right now, hahaha." Arya tried to calm the tense situation for Dinda after the love expressed in the car.

"Maybe.....because I'm pretty, hehehe." Dinda put her left and right index finger on each cheek while smiling, showing her cute narrowed eyes.

"Since when are you so confident?" Arya talked back.

"Then what is the reason? If you'd like to tell me." Said Dinda.

"Because I've liked you since we were in high school. Your modesty and your anti-dating principles are different from other girls." Arya said meaningfully.

"Yes, because I didn't want anyone in the past, Ar. No one is interested in old-school girls with two braids, loose-fitting clothes, and oversized socks. Hehehehe. Anyway, let's eat, we'll be late coming home." Dinda began to be hungry when a sweet dish was presented in front of her.

More than half an hour passed the meal, and now the two of them were back in the car along the way home, to Dinda's house, to be exact.

"Ar, I'm sorry... I can't invite you into the house. Because I've never brought a man into my house so if you suddenly come, my parents might think different things." The road to Dinda's house is in sight. And, the man who brought her home could only clear his throat softly.

"This is the last time I drop you off here, okay? I'll make sure to meet your parents tomorrow." Arya smiled mischievously.

"I hope so. Okay, bye. Thank you. Be careful when you drive." Dinda said gently.

"Okay, dream of me." Arya pursed his lips while winking.

"Hmm ...."

-----

"Hi, already got home? Take a shower first. After that, sit here with mama."

"What's the matter, mom? Why did you call me to come here at this time of night." Arya immediately sat next to his mother, whom he most often met only once a week because Arya has his own apartment close to where he works.

"Son, when will you be getting married? Your career is already established, you already have a house, an aprtement, a luxuriour car, and others. What are you waiting for, huh?" As usual, the hot topic between a mother and a son is about Arya's singleness.

"Mama papa want to see our youngest son to get married." She stroked the back of the boy who used to be the source of the riots and always fought with his brother, but Arya, who is now full of mystery and doesn't talk if being asked

"I already have a girlfriend, mam. But it's a secret, hehehe." His mother was shocked as she covered her mouth.

"Seriously? How come mom and dad doesn't know this?"

"Not yet. When it's the time, I will definitely take her home."

"Is it Shelly?"

"Noooo, she is only a friend." Arya shook his head weakly because he was tired after coming back home.

"Tsk tsk, we are sorry for her. Even though she comes here every day bringing fruits and snacks."

"Yes, yes, ma'am. I'm very tired now. Can I go sleeping right now? Let's talk about it again tomorrow morning." Arya said while yawning.

"Have you eaten already?" Mom is going to the kitchen.

"Yes, I have. Good night, Mom. Have a nice sleep." Arya kissed mom's forehead and walked to his bedroom right away.

"Okay, good night." Mama returned to the living room playing the remote and looking for her favorite soap opera on her favorite tv channel.

-----

"Tasya, what are you doing right now?" The soft voice of the woman on the other of the phone while folding her clothes.

"Nothing, I just stay at home. Why? Do you want to take me for a walk?" Tasya dried her hair with a small towel in her right hand while holding the cellphone in her left.

"Yes, if you don't mind. I have something to talk to you about." Dinda said.

"It seems very serious. What's wrong?" Tasya put her towel on the bed.

"I'll tell you later. At the usual place. Can you do it in 2 hours?"

"Okay, please order a drink right away once you get there first." Tasya giggled.

"Yes, mam ." Dinda smiled happily. She doesn't really have many friends.

It was not easy for her to make friends, especially when she was in high school. Wealthy and appearance were the main requirements for having friends. Luckily, Tasya is the daughter of a rich person but is not arrogant like the others.

--------

"Arya, please open the door, son. You haven't had your breakfast and now it's time for lunch." Mama knocked on the door of her single son, who had not left the room since last night.

"Yeah, I'll be going out later." The lazy voice of the occupants of the room was heard outside the room.

Mama sighed, getting the answer of her youngest son. His age is almost thirty, but his behavior is still like a college kid. He looks neatly for work only. Apart from that, jeans and t-shirts with sneakers and a pet hat are his favorites.

No one would have thought that he was a gynecologist, a profession that his mother wanted for so long for his child because his eldest children had followed in her husband's footsteps to become a businessman. Luckily, Arya also likes studying medicine because he doesn't want to do business like his brother and father.

"Arya, do you have a schedule today?"
