Welcome To The Academy

"I'll go start the formation then" The wizard nervously laughed as he walked over to the various runes inscribed on the floor in front of the soon-to-be students.

The old man then kneeled on the floor slowly and extended his hand out to the symbols, touching them before the various symbols slowly exhibited light. Though the light was minuscule, the brightness was getting more intense as the old man started chanting as well.

"We are about to activate the teleportation array. Be warned, however, that you may experience some nausea or some dizziness after the activation" The secretary stated.

"My teleportation method is superior since it doesn't have any side effects" Clay pointed it out to Josh who didn't really ask for that information.

"Yeah, if you don't count blacking out for a moment as a side effect" Josh rolled his eyes.

"There is no need to worry though as the symptoms will go away after a few minutes, if it persists, you may look for me or any faculty member on the campus" The secretary continued.

"Once we are done teleporting behave yourselves and move in an orderly manner in a line while following an instructor that is stationed there"

"You will all be attending an orientation inside an auditorium that is compulsory to attend, all the important information regarding the academy will be discussed in the orientation and you can ask questions about the academy during the orientation"

The secretary glanced at the runes that were a lot brighter compared to before and nodded to the wizard who nodded back.

"Dormitories will be assigned after the orientation, after that, you can explore the academy all you want as long as you have permission from the instructors" The secretary finished her announcement, and as if on cue, the wizard raised his staff slightly and...

"HAA!" The wizard stabbed his staff on the floor as the runes shone a blinding light that encompassed everything in the room.

...

..

.

"Argh" Clay covered his eyes with his hands as the sudden brightness stung his eyes a little.

Once Clay opened his eyes, however, he was welcomed with a completely different sight from when he was at the village hall previously.

The room he and the others were in was so much larger compared to the hall they were in previously, it was like when you compare the size of a cockroach to the size of a house cat. It was ridiculous. However, Clay felt that the size of the room was understandable given that there were more people here than when they were in the hall.

The room had the qualifications to be called a ballroom as it was at least hundreds of meters wide and 40 meters tall, and it was decorated with golden columns that looked pleasing to the eye and supported the weight of the ceiling, there were also some banners and paintings with various logos and people here and there that were hung on the walls.

Clay looked around and noticed that other people who weren't from his village were also here. He guessed that there were around a few hundred people in this room alone.

'If this room already has hundreds of people in it, how big would the rest of the academy be?' Clay was amazed at how such a ginormous structure was even created.

'I wonder if I can have a house as big as this...' Before Clay began fantasizing, Josh woke him up from his trance.

"Yo, this place is huuuuuge" Josh nudged Clay in the shoulder, much to the latter's dismay.

"I know, you think I don't have eyes?" Clay rolled his eyes to which Josh laughed in response.

"Ahem!" A rough-looking man who had a stoic face and a trimmed beard who was about a head taller than Clay, with a good build in a standard instructor uniform which was a polo and standard pants made of silk with black and red stripes; the color for the Adurep kingdom flag, cleared his throat.

Almost everyone who was present turned their heads towards the man.

"WELCOME STUDENTS, TO THE ELITE ACADEMY OF ADUREP" The man said with a booming voice.

What followed was a deathly silence that lasted for a few seconds it almost felt suffocating.

The man gestured for an instructor beside him to lean closer.

"Aren't they supposed to clap?" He whispered to his fellow workmate, to which the person responded with a shrug.

"Ahem. Once again, welcome to the academy, this would be your second home in the future and we hope that you will have a wonderful time during your stay here" The man cleared his throat again to stop the awkward silence from going on any longer.

"On that note, I would also like to introduce myself. My name is Andwelf Sorand Grahmal, but you can call me, the 'Sky Ripper' if you prefer" Andwelf grinned while stating his nickname.

Many of the students cringed hearing Andwelf state his nickname. Clay was no exception.

"Who calls themselves Sky Ripper?!?!" Josh says with a pained look on his face.

"Sir Andwelf apparently" Clay also had a pained expression on his face.

"I will be one of your guides in this academy and will be the one leading you to the auditorium alongside my fellow guides" Andwelf continued on, oblivious to the pain he had caused to many teenagers.

"If you guys have any questions before we proceed to the auditorium, you can ask them now" Andwelf rubbed his nose thinking that he had captured the hearts of many students just by saying his nickname.

There was another awkward silence as no one was really in the mood to ask questions right now. Except for one person who for some reason raised their hands.

"I have a question" A girl from the crowd wanted to ask a question.

"Yes?" Andwelf was secretly thankful to the girl for asking a question otherwise it would have been very awkward again.

"When do we get to eat?"

A vein popped on Andwelf's forehead.

"You eat later, thank you for asking" Andwelf tried to calm himself down by taking deep breaths.

"Later when?" The girl asked again, not knowing that she was treading on thin ice.
