Clay thought for a while before ultimately deciding to complete his quest already, lest he might forget to do it and the quest would subtract 10 experience from his level, although that was not quite a lot it still made Clay uneasy knowing that his progress might get subtracted, even if it only would subtract 10 exp thanks to his new rating.
'I think I have enough materials to make 2 maps, and I can just buy the rest of the materials from the system shop if I ever need more'
Clay then got the materials from under his bed and began creating the maps, this time it didn't really matter what kind of area he was gonna make a map of since he just wanted to get the quest done already. So Clay just thought of any random area he could find in his mind to make a map of.
'System, create map' Clay thought, expecting nothing to go wrong.
*Ding!*
<Detected map creation prompt>
<Checking materials...>
<Success>
<Combining materials...>
<Success>
<Creating map...>
<Failed>
Clay froze upon hearing the final message of the system, he looked over to the prompt rubbing his eyes to make sure he wasn't reading wrong. By this time the light from creating the map had already disappeared revealing a scroll with random scribbles here and there.
"What" was the only word that came out of Clay's mouth.
He picked up the map and looked at it hoping to find what went wrong in the process.
Not noticing anything wrong with the map, Clay turned to the system to ask it instead.
"System, why did the map creation fail?"
*Ding!*
<Hosts thoughts weren't stable, the host should focus on the image of the area host wants to create a map of>
'Oh, that explains it' Clay nodded in understanding.
'Alright, let's try this again'
Clay looked at the last batch of materials he had.
'System, create map, take 2'
<Detected map creation prompt>
<Checking materials...>
<Success>
<Combining materials...>
<Success>
<Creating map...>
<Success>
<Mapping increased +1>
<100 EXP, and 24 unallocated stat points received>
As soon as Clay finished reading the last message he felt the same itchiness all around his body but on a lower level compared to the first time he experienced it, followed by a cooling sensation spreading throughout his body.
<The host has leveled up>
<All stats increased by 9>
Bombarded by many messages all at once Clay dismissed them all after he finished reading their contents.
Clay then opened up his stat sheet to marvel at his own growth.

|Remarks: Stronger than most in the same field, but not the strongest, work harder young man, your progress is astonishing!|
Clay whistled, or at least tried to since all that came out was spit, he 'whistled' at the sight of the fast progress that he had been making ever since he had gotten the new system rating, heck, it hasn't even been a day ever since that being interfered with his system.
He also didn't miss the additional words at the end of the remarks as well, it made him feel kind of appreciated? It was like when his dad congratulated him, the remarks had the same vibe as that which was pleasing and kind of weird, but hey, Clay was not complaining one bit about it, rather, he wanted the system to praise him more.
Since Clay used his last batch of materials he now couldn't create any more maps, unless he bought more materials of course.
'Hmm, should I sell my map and use the money from selling to buy the materials or should I just buy it directly from the system shop? The first method takes time but it doesn't require me to spend the SC I want to save, but the second method is fast but it spends SC, but I can also get the SC back after completing the quest so it really is a profit instead, hmm' Clay didn't take long before finally choosing his decision.
'I'll buy from the system shop I guess, I just want to get this quest over with already'
Clay opened up the system shop and searched for the items he needed to buy.
*Ding!*

|Purchase?|
[Yes/No]
Clay was pleasantly surprised that the price was really cheap, most probably due to the change of the system rating that had caused this to happen, and for that Clay was eternally grateful to the mysterious being who had made his life so much more easier. It does make him wonder though, if the ancient scroll is this cheap, would that mean that the other items he was going to buy would be cheaper as well? He would find out soon enough anyway.
Clay clicked on the purchase button.
<Are you sure?>
[Yes/No]
'I knew it' Clay had been expecting this confirmation, but this time it was understandable that it appeared since it was confirming his purchase so Clay wasn't too irritated by it.
Clay clicked on yes which caused a light to appear in front of him a moment later.

The turtle which had not been too surprised by the sound suddenly moved to have a better view of the wolf.
The wolf in question who was expecting the taste of the shattered shell of the turtle suddenly winced in pain.
It had definitely shattered something but it wasn't the shell, it was its own teeth that it had shattered.
Stunned and surprised by this turn of events, the wolf whimpered as pools of blood were dripping out of its mouth, the shards of the teeth exploded with so much force due to the wolf not holding back when biting the turtle, which in turn caused the shards of teeth to pierce through the gums and the throat of the wolf.
Drowning in its own blood, the wolf tried limping away but then fell over in just two steps because of the lack of oxygen.
The turtle had human-like pity in its eyes as it watched the wolf slowly grow weaker.
Deciding that the wolf had suffered enough, the turtle turned around and walked to the nearest most populated area it could find, while turning around however, the wolf instantaneously disintegrated into ashes and dust, becoming one with the void.
