Under the Veil of Night

In the City of Crime, one law stands above them all: Only the strongest can live. Fighting is normal, extortion is common, and death is inevitable. Born into a wealthy family yet forced to live in poverty, Kanae Nali vowed to become strong enough to take back what rightfully belonged to her—even if it meant that she had to face the consequences and brave the dangers lurking in every corner. Yet on the outside, just like her mysterious peers, she was no different from the other high school students living their lives to the fullest. “Under the ray of light, my ability will only make me die faster. Under the veil of night, my ability allows me to survive longer.” ____ Story set in fictional city. Any similarities with real world's event is purely coincidence. When All Hope is Lost

Ferdinand looked at the first floor with an indifferent gaze. Even though he was interested in the two youngsters, he would not go his way just to recruit them when they blatantly showed their stances that they were not on his side.

"You two are too weak against me," he said coldly as he descended the stairs. His unfeeling gaze didn't show any mercy.

It was only the stairs between the second and third floor, so the height was only around 7 meters or so. They would hit the ground in less than one second based on the gravity acceleration.* Of course, that would be if he excluded the time when they grabbed the railing to slow down their fall.

Ferdinand didn't really put these two in his eyes because they were simply too weak. Years of fighting on the frontline as a soldier had taught him a lot, which allowed him to become even stronger.

At the same time, it made him lose his comrades.
