Under the Veil of Night

In the City of Crime, one law stands above them all: Only the strongest can live. Fighting is normal, extortion is common, and death is inevitable. Born into a wealthy family yet forced to live in poverty, Kanae Nali vowed to become strong enough to take back what rightfully belonged to her—even if it meant that she had to face the consequences and brave the dangers lurking in every corner. Yet on the outside, just like her mysterious peers, she was no different from the other high school students living their lives to the fullest. “Under the ray of light, my ability will only make me die faster. Under the veil of night, my ability allows me to survive longer.” ____ Story set in fictional city. Any similarities with real world's event is purely coincidence. Wells Family Residence

As the elders were still gathering because of the media mass, they entered heavy discussion about Ivan's recent antics. Right now, not a single one of them have the intention to go back home. If they did, they would just be swarmed by the reporters who were eager to find them and ask numerous questions.

"Family Head, what should we do regarding Ivan's action?" one of the elders asked nervously. They knew that Ivan had started to act out of the bounds with the recent action not befitting his name.

Wells Family Head didn't answer. His cold gaze was directed straight to the front. Just outside the door, Ivan was busy talking to the reporters as if he was the one who had the right.

"Family Head, please answer us."

"They're waiting for an answer."
