Did Ben have the right to fret like this? He had, in fact, lost Lennon when he’d left. When he’d let the Agency pull him away. Lennon wasn’t his anymore, but that didn’t mean that Ben loved him any less. That didn’t mean that Ben wanted him to suffer, either.
Lennon needed support. He needed someone he could count on. He clearly relied on Rada, but he needed someone he could turn to and be vulnerable with. Ben wanted to be that person, and he thought that Lennon wanted him to be that person. Was it right to pursue a relationship with him, knowing that he’d be pulled away when everything was smoothed over?
Was he willing to let the Agency pull him away again?
Townsend let himself back into the room. “He asleep?”
“Oh yeah.” Ben nodded. “The amount of pain this guy’s in? Unconscious is probably a better word, but he’s out, whichever it is.”
“I’ll stay here. You go home. Get some rest.” Townsend sat down across from Ben.
“No.”
