Unbreakable love: Only one I love

Alex had one goal in life to make enough money so she could give her mother a comfortable life. But her efforts always seemed less fruitful even with her adoptive father and step-sister by her side. "Am not crying, just got something in my eye " Alex sniffed. "Am sorry, here is something that might help" the stranger said passing his handkerchief. "Thank you," she said taking it. After wiping the falling tears she turned to look at the stranger. His long brown hair was moving with the breeze around him as his dark orbs stared down at her. He bent down took his hankie and gently wiped the still falling tears from her eyes, "you missed a spot" he smiled. She smiled remembering that night, it was the day she had met him. Nathan Livingston. The man who claimed to only have eyes for her and soon had proved it.

Ed was barking and running up and down when he heard the two walk up to the door.

"He sounds excited already" she smiled.

"He knows my footsteps so he knows am here," he said.

The moment the door opened, Ed ran to his owner wagging his tail.

"Hi, little guy, you missed me too," he said holding him up.

They walked in and Nathan moved around, Alex closed the door and before she could turn he had her trapped between the door and him.

She looked up, "I thought you were busy with Ed," she said.

"Your my priority right now not him," he said, holding her face, his thumb down to her lips, Alex felt him brush over them as pulled them in.

"Ed is like our little son it won't be nice if we do anything indecent in front of him," she said peeping past him to the little shadow down and looking at them.

Nathan scoffed but didn't move away, "Ed, give us some privacy," he said.

The little white dog ran off without looking back.

Alex laughed at Ed's reaction, "It seems our son is intelligent"

Nathan nodded, "We'll then let's go back to our business"

...

"Mom am sick I can't come," Cynthia said.

"If you don't come right now you won't like what will come next," her mother said.

"Mom you should stop threatening me, I have the right to not come to work and am not refusing to come, but am sick," she said.

"Cynthia doesn't play with me and come to work. I don't care about all your excuses" her mother said.

She heard the door open and Roy walk in. He had left to buy her some drugs. His footsteps moved to the bedroom where she was, Cynthia sighed, "Mom am sorry but I won't be able to come to work today" she said hanging up.

"I ordered some food, so you will take these after having some food," Roy said to her.

"Thank you, I don't know what I would do without you. Alex and mother Rosa are both gone, they were the only people who used to take care of me" she said.

"It's okay am happy to be helping," he said.

When the food arrived he helped her eat and then take her medicine. He told her to lie down again.

Cynthia gazed at him as he pulled the covers over with a smile on her face.

He met her glance and smiled, "Something wrong?" he asked.

Shaking her head, "No, I'm just recognizing how handsome you are, I think I was blind not to notice you".

He smiled, "Thank you"

"You know I have a secret but I can't tell anyone about it," she said.

Sitting back down he answered, "Then if it's a secret don't tell anyone, just keep it to yourself"

"But I want to tell you now that you are my friend," she said.

The medicine was taking effect, and they had told him about its side effects.

"I think you should rest instead and tell me when you are fully conscious," he said

Cynthia grabbed his arm pulling him down to her, he breathed staring down closely next to her face.

"It's about Mom" she whispered. He was silent letting her speak. "She did something terrible and... and...." he turned to see tears form in her eyes.
