Unbreakable love: Only one I love

Alex had one goal in life to make enough money so she could give her mother a comfortable life. But her efforts always seemed less fruitful even with her adoptive father and step-sister by her side. "Am not crying, just got something in my eye " Alex sniffed. "Am sorry, here is something that might help" the stranger said passing his handkerchief. "Thank you," she said taking it. After wiping the falling tears she turned to look at the stranger. His long brown hair was moving with the breeze around him as his dark orbs stared down at her. He bent down took his hankie and gently wiped the still falling tears from her eyes, "you missed a spot" he smiled. She smiled remembering that night, it was the day she had met him. Nathan Livingston. The man who claimed to only have eyes for her and soon had proved it.

Love them

"Did you enjoy the dinner?" he asked her.

"Very much," she said.

He walked her out of the building to the waiting car.

"Would mind if I took you somewhere else before I drop you home?" he asked.

"No I don't" he smiled opening the car door for her.

Roy drove them off.

Alex moved her head close to Nathan.

"I want to apologize," she said.

"Apologize for what?" there was worry in his voice

"You offered your shirt to me and I left it without washing it. Am sorry" she let out.

He checked, "That's something you should not worry about, you didn't have the time and I can do it myself"

She sighed, "Okay".

Finally, they arrived and Nathan got out first and then helped her out. Taking his hand Alex moved out to see they were out someone with a little house in the centre.

"Come on," he said holding her hand they walked up to the tall grass.

He made her stand at the centre and got behind her, "Ready" he asked.

"For what exactly" she chortled

"For this," he said and the moment he did, she noticed something light up and another, and soon the whole place was lit with little flying lights.

She giggled when little flying lights moved and slowly surround them.

"Fire files" she let out happily.

"Mmm," he sounded next to her.

"They are beautiful... and so many" she looked around giggling.

He moved her hand and slowly they followed it. He could feel the excitement in her laughter.

Nathan moved back and let her enjoy the moment.

"How do you know this place?" she asked.

"Someone special found it so I bought it," he said.

"Oh," she smiled looking up at the sky, with the little fire files around them it seemed the stars had fallen to them.

"Do you want to seat down?" he finally asked.

They walked to the little house and sat down on the porch.

"Why didn't you bring that special person here instead of me?" Alex asked.

Nathan smiled looking up at the starry night with her, "I can't anymore, they are far away".

"Far away?"

He nodded, "This special person is my sister, is used to love to come here during the season and watch the fire files".

She turned her eyes to his face, "Used to? Is she gone that far you can't bring her back"

"Yes, we lost here on her tenth birthday. It's been years since I last came here" he said.

"Then why did you bring me to a place that reminds you and belongs to your sister"

"Because I knew you would love them as much as my sister did. And with you I finally found the strength to get back here" he smiled.

His black eyes held sadness and pain but before she could say anything he turned away, "So thank you Alex for coming with me this evening"

"Thank you for bringing me," she said.

.....

In silence, they gazed at the flying fireflies and the accompanying starry night.

After a while, they decided to leave. He leads her back to the car.

"Nathan?" she called stopping.

"Mm, something wrong," he asked.

"I wanted to do something before we leave," she said.

"Okay," he smiled.

She walked to him and looked up, meeting his gaze. "I know this place must have been so special for you but also a painful memory but you decided to bring me here cause you knew I would love it, thank you so much"

"You're welcome" he smiled.

Nathan watched as Alex's hand moved to touch his cold face, her smile was gentle and understanding, "Thank you for being brave enough to come back here even when it must have hurt so much " she let out.

Alex could see sadness fill his eyes again as he seemed to control his feeling.

"Alex, can I say something too," he said.

She smiled sweetly, "Can I hug you?" he asked.

She moved closer and tiptoed without answering holding his high body in her arms.

His arms slowly held her as his head hide in her neck.

"I know how it feels to miss someone you know your never seeing again. And unlike me you have a beautiful memory to come back to when you miss them, so thank you for sharing it with me" her hand rubbed the back of his head trying to soothe his pain.

She held him for minutes and finally said.

"Ahh, Nathan can I let go now? My toes seem to be giving up" she murmured

He chuckled and pulled back, "Am sorry"

"It's alright, are you okay"

He nodded, "I am now" with a smile.

"Should we go right now?" she said.

"Alex," he said

She stopped, his gaze and hold on her hand seemed to need something.

"Can we pretend the hug didn't happen and I ask for something else?" he said.

She turned to face him, "Okay and what is it you want instead".

"A kiss... yes I know it's out of the blue and we just got to know each other but since the day I met you. I have been dying to kiss you. But today I can't hold it back anymore.... after all you said" he breathed.

Alex gazed back at him, her sister's words rang in her head. "you need to live your life now and stop being your own prisoner" she remembered.

She was now, with a handsome rich man who seemed to be obsessed with her. A kiss? She had never kissed anyone before not even during high school.

"Okay, let's do it" she let out. Alex smiled, when was she going to have such a chance again so she decided to go ahead.
