MAX POV
I arrived at Jeremy's office, my mind racing with everything that had happened. I had to find him—had to get some answers. When I reached his office, he was just about to leave, his coat already on and a briefcase in hand.
"Jeremy," I called out, stepping in front of him before he could walk away. His face tightened with annoyance as he saw me.
"Max, I'm on my way to Park City. I don't have time for this right now," he said curtly, trying to brush past me.
I held my ground, my voice sharp. "You don't get to run off just like that. I know what you've done."
Jeremy stopped, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. "What are you talking about?"
"You hired the hacker," I said, my words cutting through the tension. "You think you can just disappear and avoid the consequences? That's not going to work. We're tracing the money back to you. Even if you run or hide, you'll be found and arrested."
