Clarification

When Vivian walked out of the restaurant, when a valet noticed that Vivian was leaving the restaurant, he brought her car back to her right away.

After she thanked him and gave him tips, Vivian was about to get in the driver seat, but a big strong hand grasped her arm making her turn her head to face him.

Their bodies were only 2 ft away from each other.

"Too close." Vivian muttered between her lips. Her heart started beating faster and her face turned slightly red.

'This is bad. My heart is about to burst out of my chest.'

"Sigh! Can we talk?"

Vivian breaked her arm free from Ivan gasping. Trying to avoid his eyes. "I have nothing to say. I called because I made a bet with the guys."

'I'm too nervous to talk right now. Your presence in front of me is making me too nervous right now.'

"Why are you always only cold to me?"

'Holy…. He's so freaking hot!! I can't stop my heart from beating so fast. Those long and elegant eyelashes and those cherry like lips, I want to have a taste of it. Without a doubt, he's the most handsome man I know in this wide world.'

"Why aren't you answering me? Why are you always so cold to me?

'Oh god! What am I thinking? Vivian, snap out of it. Now is not the time to admire his beauty.'

"Alright then, if you don't want to answer that quest, then why are you trying to avoid me right now?"

"Isn't that what we agreed to do?"

"I never said I agree with you. And never will in the future."

Ivan was telling the truth. He never said that he agreed with Vivian when she told him to not show up in front of each other.

'If I hadn't asked him to be my boyfriend, would we have had a different relationship now? If I hadn't asked him to be my boyfriend, would he have come when I called? If he didn't have a fiance, would we end up getting married?'

"I see…."

"Can we go somewhere so that we can talk? Please?"

'Sigh! Don't look at me with those pitiful eyes. You're making my heart go weak. Since it's my fault for calling you first, I'll give you some of my time and hear what you wanted to say.'

"Alright! Your car or my car? Or do you prefer to drive our own car by ourselves?"

Ivan was overwhelmed with joy after hearing what Vivian said. He thought that Vivian was going to turn him down.

"My car. I can't fit in your car."

'That's true. With his big built body, sports cars are too small for him to ride.'

"Your car then."

Ivan opened the car door for Vivian. He then goes to the driver seat and starts driving.

While driving, the city lights shine upon Ivan's face. Making him look even more handsome than before.

Vivian couldn't help but stare at the man who's driving.

'He looked really frail today. But his handsomeness didn't go away and still look handsome. Sigh! What have I done? I turned a bright man into a cold person. He used to smailes a lot, but after seeing him today, I knew right away that he became like this because of me.'

Vivian thought that she'll be able to forget about him if none of them appear in front of each other. Even if they ran into each other by accident, she was sure that she wouldn't feel anything.

But she was wrong. The moment she saw Ivan, she couldn't help but stare at him till his body disappeared.

Ivan could feel that a pair of eyes kept staring at him since he started driving.

With a smile on his face, Ivan turned his head to face Vivian. "Am I that handsome? Is that why you can't take your eyes off me?"

Vivian let out a soft laugh. "Yes."

Vivian was just answered truthfully. It has not been that long since they last parted, but it feels like ages. And she feels like he looks more handsome now.

Her answer was short. But it still made Ivan's heart skip a beat. His hand's grip tightened on the steering wheel.

Ivan didn't think much and was just trying to lift up the mood by saying something since none of them opened their mouths to speak.

He didn't think that Vivian would answer him.

"Will you come back to me if I ask you?"

There was a long silence in the car before Vivian opened her mouth to speak. "I don't know."

Vivian was having mixed feelings. She was not sure about her feelings.

She'll have to hear what Ivan has to say first, then decide whether to be back together with him or not.

From the last couple of days, she misses him. She really does. But when she thinks about the article that she read not long ago, she just doesn't know what to do.

"Anyway, where are we heading?"

Vivian wondered where Ivan was going to take her. Because It has already been a while now since Ivan started driving but it looks like he's not going to stop anytime soon.

The further they're away from the city, the more the sky is getting gloomy and it looks like it's about to rain anytime soon. She hates the rainy season.

"It's a secret."

"Common."

Ivan let out a soft chuckle. "It's my secret place. Don't worry, we will be there soon."

"Ok."

Just like Ivan said, after driving for a short time, he stopped in the middle of nowhere. There was a small villa right in front of them.

Ivan got out of the car and then went to the other side and opened the door for Vivian.

Vivian was hesitant. She's not sure what Ivan wants to bring her in the middle of nowhere. She's not sure if she should get out or not.

Seeing the uneasy look on Vivian's face, Ivan understood.

With a gentle smile on his face, Ivan then held out his hand. "Don't worry. I won't do anything to you."

After hearing Ivan's words, Vivian took Ivan's hand and got out of the car. Ivan then leads Vivian inside the small villa.

Inside the villa was cozy.

"Take a seat."

Just like Ivan told her, Vivian walked up to the couch and sat down.

"Want something to drink?"

Shaking her head. "I'm good."

Nodding his head. He then walked up close to where Vivian was sitting and sat across Vivian.

"Sigh! What is it that you want to say? And why did you bring me here?"

"What do you think of this place?"

"It's small, but cozy."

"Right? This place used to be me and my grandparents' secret place. But they stopped coming here after they grow old."

"This place must be important to you."

"Yes… that's why I brought you here."

"Why? We don't have anything to do with each other."

Ivan's chest tightens after hearing Vivian's words. He didn't say anything and just stayed quietly.

"Anyway, is this what you want to talk about? Sigh! You brought the wrong woman here. If you want to bring someone here, you're supposed to bring your fiancé, not a woman who you had an affair with."

Vivian feels heavy in her heart. She tries her best to calm down and not to let her tears welling up in her eyes.

"About the article about the fiancé thing, my parents misunderstood the situation and thought that I proposed to my ex-fiancé."

'Ex-Fiancé?'

Without saying anything, Vivian listened quietly.

"I do have an ex-fiancé. For one day. We met up for the first and last time and broke off the engagement between us that same day since I don't have any feelings for her and she doesn't have any feelings for me. I want to be with someone I love, not with someone my family arranged for me."

'So that means his parents don't know that he broke off his engagement with his ex-fiancé for them to misunderstand his situation and release the article about his proposal.'

"I told my parents that I broke off the engagement and they promised to not arrange anything for me again. They kept their words and didn't bother me about marriage again. After I turned thirty and haven't dated anyone or married yet, my mom got anxious. That's why when she heard the news about my proposal, she spread the news hoping that I won't change my mind later."

"Sigh! She heard the news from Mrs. Brown. At first my mom was not sure who the woman I was proposing to was. After she got deceived by Mrs. Brown, she was sure that the person I proposed to was Miss Brown."

"After what happened between us and your gone, I had a talk with my parents. They regretted what they did after that, especially my mom. After my mom found out that Mrs. Brown was a greedy person and she deceived her, my mom cut off ties with her."

'So that means I misunderstood him and ended up hurting him deeply because of my side story.'
