The Last Moment

On that day, the day went on as usual. Prince Nathan and Prince Darius were tried to seek a way to save their kingdom. They decide to go there tomorrow and confront with their brother. After he has courage, Nathan finally talks with Darius about their elder brother, Jordan.

He told everything to him about what he saw when he went there before. But, as soon as Darius heard about that, he actually didn't feel surprised. He already expects Jordan to look suspicious when he sees Jordan secretly standing in their father's room before.

He feels regret as he didn't deter him at that time. He didn't expect too that Jordan will deceive their family. Even though he received all he wants but he still greedy and obviously want to destroy their kingdom.

''Why didn't you tell me earlier about that?'' Nathan said with frustration.

''How come I want to tell you if you did not often live there. I've noticed him being suspicious for a long time but I just ignore it. After all, he always looks like that.''

''Anyway, tomorrow we have to meet him. I don't care if he wants to take the throne as a King. But, I just want him to take back our kingdom as before. He needs to protect our kingdom.''

''You still want to let him be the king? After what has happened?? Do you think someone like him can rule the kingdom?'' Darius said with anger.

''I don't know...but if that he wants, we just let him do it.''

''But he not the real heirs! He just not anyone from the royal family! He, not our real brother!'' Darius shouted.

''What?? How can it be?'' Nathan was confused.

''I also just know about it. I heard the conversation between Mr.Anthony and our late father before. That is the reason he wants you to take the throne not him.'' Darius tells the truth to him.

Nathan fell silent after hearing that words from Darius. He became even more confused at that time. He does not even know about that secrets.

''Brother...I know you don't want all of these things but, you have to save our kingdom, our people, and our family. Our father must be really hoping that you can save these problems.'' He said while touching his shoulder strongly.

''You have to take this responsibility. I promise, whatever happens, I will support you from behind.'' He added.

''Okay. I will. I will save our kingdom, our people, and our family. I will take back the throne.''

''That's my brother! Let fight together!''

Both of them shake their hands together strongly.

Maya was searching for Nathan that day. She just knows from Darius that both of them will go to the kingdom tomorrow. She decides to go along with them as she had to protect him.

She looks around to find him and suddenly Levi calls her. ''Sister!''

''Levi! Did you see Nathan?''

''No. Why?''

''I have something to talk with him.''

''Before that, can I talk with you, sister?''

''What? Why your look seem serious?''

Then, both of them were talking to each other under the willow tree in front of the house. Before Levi starts his talk, he looks uneasy and doesn't know how to talk to his sister.

''Levi, what happened to you? Any problems?''

''Sister...I heard that you will come along with them tomorrow. Did you have to follow them?''

''Why you ask this? Don't you know I have to protect the Prince? It was my responsibility. And that also our late father promises.''

''But I'm worried about you. I know you are stronger but I still worried that I might lose you.''

Maya chuckles after hear his words. ''Since when you talking like this. It looks like you so childish.''

''Sister, I'm serious right now. I don't have anyone else besides you.'' Levi said in sadness. He just felt worried that something happens to Maya.

''Levi, don't worry. I know how to take care of myself. Don't you know my sword skill so powerful? Even you can't beat me.'' She tried to tease him to not make him worry about her.

''So...if not about the promise our late father asking for, did you have to protect him?'' Levi suddenly asks her.

Maya takes a deep breath before answer his question. Then, she looks away and said, ''Actually...I admit that because of the promise our late father made before I have to do it but... right now...I...'' She can't finish her words when Darius barge in from behind.

''Hey! What are you all doing here? Anything happens?'' Darius said while knowing nothing.

At the same time, Nathan was there too. He was behind both Maya and Levi. In fact, he actually was standing there and heard all of their conversations.

Maya was surprised. She didn't realize that Nathan was there too. ''Brother! It good you here, my sister looking for you.'' Levi said while pulling out Darius with him to going inside.

''Hey, where you want to bring me? I thought we have something to do here.'' Darius shouted.

''We have more important things to do than here. Come, follow me.'' Levi said and they walk away from there.

Maya and Nathan were staring at each other. Maya suddenly feels that Nathan was looking at her curiously. Did I do something wrong? She thought.

''Um...where did you go earlier?''

''I go take something at the waterfall.''

''What is that?''

''Here. For you.'' He gives a flower to her.

''Flower? Why you give it to me?''

''Its Salvia flower. I pick it up especially for you.''

''It looks beautiful. I haven't seen this flower before.''

''You want to know something about this flower?''

''What?'' Then, Nathan slowly lean closer to her and said, '' This flower means is...forever mine...'' He stares deeply into her eyes.

After hearing that, Maya suddenly hiccups as she is startled. She speechless and didn't know how to reply to him.

''Um...''

''You already hold the flower, so...you will be mine eternally...'' He whispering.

''Don't I have any choice?'' She tried to calm her heart and not waver by his words.

''You think?'' He gently rubs her cheeks.

''I think...!''

''You think...''

''Okay! I will keep this flower with me.'' She chuckles. She just feels like her cheeks were feeling hot because of the shyness.

''You just keep the flower only? Not the master of the flower?'' He said while grins.

''Okay, I keep both!''

Both of them burst into laughter after teasing each other.

Then, both of them going to the top of the hills. They sitting there together while enjoying the view from the above. They were talking about many things with each other and just relish the scenery at that time.

''Nathan...can I follow you and Darius tomorrow? I'm worried about you. I feel restless if I am not by your side.''

''What about Levi? He worried about you too. After all, he only has you.''

''I know. But, he understands me.

''Mm...okay.''

''Why I feel that you have something to asks me but you keep it yourself. Did you have anything to ask?''

''Actually...I wanna ask if you just want to be by my side just because of your late father's promises.''

Maya burst into laughter after hearing that. ''Why you laughing?''

''I know you must be wondering about that. You must secretly hear our conversation before right?''

''No.No. I just happened to be on that way.''

''Oh really?'' She teases him. ''Okay...listen...I will tell you about my true feelings...'' Maya said while lean closer to his face.

''Why you need to move closer to me?'' Nathan suddenly feels nervous. Maya just smiles to see his bashful reaction.

''I admit that before I just want to protect you as my late father promises but...after I get to know you more, my heart is gradually infatuated with you. I frankly say that I was falling in love with you when the first time I meet you.''

''First time we meet?''

''But now you cross the line.'' He chuckles. Maya just gives a glare at him.

''Okay, just take your time, my lord.'' She said while lowering her head as she showed her respect to him. And suddenly Nathan gives a kiss on her head.

Maya startled and widened her eyes. ''I have done my thoughtful.'' He gives a smiling wink to her.

''So, your turn. Please confess to me when you fall in love with me.''

''I was in love with you before I met you.''

''What??''

''Yeah. It's true. I am interested to know about you more when your late father says about you at me. He shares some stories about you with me. Well, we can say that he eventually introduces his daughter to his prospective son-in-law.''

''What are two talking about me? Did he really do that?''

''Yup. And for your information, he already gives you under my care. He keeps asks me to be with you and look over you and Levi. He just gives his blessing to us. And from that, I know that he really loves you. I was touched by his last words.''

When Nathan keep talking, he didn't realize that Maya was shed tears beside him. Then, he quickly turns his side to look at her. He slowly pulls her into his arms.

''Shhh... it's okay. Just cry...''

''Sorry...I'm just missing my father...''

He gently stroke her hair and tried to comfort her. He knows how she feels because he also feels the same as her. Both of them lost their parents. They just have to rely on each other after this.

''You want to hear some funny stories?'' Nathan said.

''How come someone like you has funny stories?''

''In a somewhere unknown place, there was one man and one girl. They falling in love with each other. Then, one day...the man left the girl.''

''Why?''

''Because...the girl has no teeth!'' Nathan burst into laughter after said the stories. But Maya didn't laugh. She just stares at him.

''Why you not laughing? Don't you think it funny?'' He still laughing.

''Why I feel that you use the girl was me??'' She glares at him.

''No. No. I dont say it was you. It just some kind of girl.'' he chuckles. Then, Maya hit his shoulder.

''You lie! You must want to say that I don't have any teeth. You so mean!''

''Maya! No. I didn't say it was you.'' Nathan was laughing out loud there.

''I don't want to talk with you.''

''Oh really? Okay, I count until three. If you don't talk to me, I will kiss your lips!''

Maya feels nervous but she still keeps sulk. ''I...2...3...!'' He instantly move closer to her face.

''Okay...I...!'' She can't even finish her words and Nathan already kiss her lips.

Just like that, Maya and Nathan spending their time together. It was the best feeling they have with each other. They feel grateful because they have met with each other and destiny brings them together.

However, they didn't know that their happiness will be ended soon. They didn't realize that was something ahead of them.

The happiness they feel now is only the beginning of their next life. It because, the day after tomorrow, they will face something bigger.
