Chapter 19 - Bangtan Sonyeondan

YEAR: 2012

PLACE: YONGSAN, SOUTH KOREA, BIG HIT BUILDING.

JIN's POV:

"Big Kids," One of the crew members suggested as well all sat in the training room. Today we were supposed to come up with our band name for next year's debut.

Honestly, that was such pressure.

"Big kids like Big Hits?" The same crew member suggested trying to be funny at the same time.

Honestly, I look at Namjoon trying to make him understand, how badly she cracks the joke. However, Namjoon ignored me, focusing entirely on the discussion at hand. I wonder how he can be so serious all the time. I mean not that It was a bad thing, but that does not go with his usual self.

To be honest, he is an excellent leader. The one who motivates us throughout. But then again if we see him as a person, he is still a messy kid. Who always ends up messing things up in the end.

YOONGI's POV:

I sat there lazily as I watched them suggest names for our band.

'Big Kids' Like seriously? That has to be a joke. We are not a kid first of all. At least not for me.

"Uhm... What about Young Nation?" Another crew member suggested.

Okay, this was far better than the first one at least. But we needed something that could justify our motto.

"How about we suggest some names that could really match our motto for our band?" I suggested. And I really got some stares. Some of them are creepy. I mean I just suggested, I don't need the attention right away.

"That's actually right," Namjoon said while defending me. He knows my ideas are superb. Just like me though. "We can make some names that could really match our motto for the group.

HOBI'S POV:

Come on we have to come up with a good name for the team. I sat there frustrated as the name really wasn't going with our band.

"What's your motto for this band?" Bang PD Nim asked.

"Something that we promote against criticism?" I suggested.

"Right, and against the serotypes mind that K-Pop is not up to the mark of Hollywood?" Namjoon said all hyped up. I mean he is right though.

"Aren't you thinking a little too big?" One of the staff asked.

"Why? Is there anything wrong with it?" Yoongi Hyung replied being the savage he is. "I think we should dream big in order to have a clear vision before us.

NAMJOON's POV:

Okay, this is really getting frustrating right now. It's been afternoon and we are still lacking behind. I looked at the three maknae in our group as they we busy playing with each other. JK is the naughtiest of them all, as he always teases Jimin for his height and Taehyung for being the drama king of our team.

But they are one of the most talented ones too.

I watched as they were still busy teasing Jimin. I asked, "Guys, do you have any suggestions here?"

They stopped giggling as they looked at me dumbfounded. "We are talking about our team motto. Any suggestions?" I finally enlightened them regarding the topic we were discussing.

"Uhm..." Taehyung tried participating after thinking for a while. "How about Bang PD Nim suggesting some names?"

Gosh, what should I do with this boy?

He made us all laugh even bang PD nim for a minute. His cute expressions were enough to melt our hearts. I just hope our hard work melts the hearts of our soon-to-be fans too.

TAEHYUNG's POV:

I was a little shy when they laughed at me. I didn't mean it that way, but I was looking and they all had a hard time thinking about our band name, while Bang PD Nim was really smiling at all of our confused faces. I am sure he had something in mind.

So without any second thoughts, I asked for his ideas.

JIMIN's POV:

Taehyung was really something.

We laughed for a good few minutes until we came back in form. He asked Bang PD nim for a suggestion. Well, it was not like he was cold, but still, we never thought of something that he thought of.

Being here all these months, Taehyung and I really came close to each other. I never had many friends outside here, but I was happy that I made a few here. I will cherish it forever.

JUNGKOOK's POV:

I just sat there honestly trying not to laugh at Jimin, who looked like a short kid, whereas he is older than me in reality. No wonder he dances really well, but he is still a shorty. Wow, shorty is a good name for him though.

We were all here to discuss the name of our group, but it was afternoon and nobody came with a good name. Honestly, I liked Young nation a little bit, but I guess I should let them decide on this matter. I trust Namjoon Hyung. He surely will find the best name for the team.

"Okay, how about Bangtan Sonyeondan?" Finally, bang PD nim suggested a name.

"Like Bangtan?" Namjoon asked after thinking for a few seconds. "Which means bulletproof?"

"Right. As you said the motto for your group I really think it will fit in perfectly. The name shows the group's desire "to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim at adolescents like bullets." I had this name in my mind since I thought about making this band. And I think this fits perfectly with what you want to display."

"That is awesome I think" Namjoon Hyung replied with a smile. I know he would like the name. I like it too.

"Then this is it. You will be introduced as Bangtan Sonyeondan. Get ready for your debut." He said before he walked away from the room, leaving us smiling in joy as we finally got a good name for our band.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Yes, that is how the name Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) was created. I wonder what if they really name the band other than BTS? Would you like it? If yes what name do you want to suggest for the band that suits more than BTS?
