Chapter One: The Crushing Begins.

Monday, September, 5th, 2022, 9:00 am. The first day of school. Me and my 2 best friends find our teacher in the busy and large gym of our shool. "Hey guys, my name is Ms. Bria I must be your teacher for grade 6 this year. Its nice to meet you," says our teacher. "Nice meeting you too Ms. Bria my name is Y/N and this is Caila and Kristen. We are happy to be in your class this year," I reply fidgeting with my fingers because of my anxiety. "Why don't you girls get in line and we can head to class, we're in the portable this year," answers Ms. Bria as she gestures enthusiastically towards the line.

Me, Caila and Kristen stuck together as we walked to class and walked in, hung our backpacks, and found an open desk near each other. Back of the class, near the door in our friend group of four. I was against the wall and Kristen was beside me on my left. Infront of me was our friend who we found when we got to class, Aurora and Caila to the left of her. We had so much fun sitting there since we could talk, study and work all together.

A few weeks later...

I noticed there near the front of the class a few rows infront of me sat a boy who was a fraction taller than me and had shoulder length brown hair. I'm 5'6 and am 11 years old and around the same for him. His name was Jake and he was incredibly nice, funny and had an attractive voice with a goofy smile.

That day at recess I went over to Caila and asked her if we could go to the back of the field and just sit and chat like best friends do. She agreed and so we did. Kristen was hanging out with her other friends and same with Aurora. "I think I might have a new crush and I kinda wanted to tell you," I said nervously. "Ohhhh tell me who it is and I won't tell anyone I promise," replied Caila with an excited grin. "Jake" I answered under my breath to the extent she couldn't hear me anymore. "Just tell me already," Caila shouted sighing. "Fine it's Jake but you cant make fun of me for liking him." "You like.. Jake? But he has long hair, and you hardly know him," Caila said shocked. "I know he has only been in our class this year but he is the only boy who has ever been taller than me and he is so nice and he makes me laugh," I said making a point. "I just didn't think you would like someone you haven't known for that long." "Yeah well I do and I just thought you would want to know," I told her giggling.

Weeks went by where me and Caila would talk about him and her crush Cole but that's another story. One day we walked in class and Ms. Bria told us we were going to be moving desks unfortunately and I was now surrounded by boys. I was friends with most of them so it did make the whole experience better but it still sucked that my friends were on the other side of the class than me. The kid who now sits beside me on my right is Spencer, behind Spencer is Lucas and behind me is JAKE!!! When we got switched here I got really scared because anything I did he would see even my weird crazy personality. Which I had kept secret so he thought I was cool.

We were just becoming friends since we hadn't ever truly met before. We became good friends and I was now in another friend group of four. We didn't hang out at recess but we did the same things I did with my other friends in class. (Talk,study,work)

After some time I got really close with them three and we became good friends. One day Ms. Bria told Lucas and Jake to stop talking during our work period. So they just whispered. This kept happening for about 2 weeks before Ms. Bria said she would be moving Jake infront of Spencer so Lucas and Jake wouldn't talk and instead put Fred in Jake's spot.

This was fine for me since I could see and admire Jake sometimes. Also if he turned around to talk with Spencer he would talk to me too. Instead of Lucas, Jake asked me for help since Spencer is a weird and total dumbass yet still my friend. I loved sitting with the boys cause I could say funny, inappropriate things as well as swear and they didn't give a damn since they did too.

About a week after Jake moved infront of me at lunch recess I saw that Kristen was upset and alone near our portable. I went over to her to see what was wrong. "Hey, are you okay Kris what happened," I asked her. "No because I told my friends who I liked and they lied about who they liked. They also went around telling everyone so now practically the whole class knows," Kristen replied nearly in tears. "Kristen I'm so sorry but can you tell me who you like?" I said in a moderately happy  tone. "I like Jake," she says with a small smile. "Uhh I cant tell you now," I reply lowering my head. "Why?" Kris answers. "Because I like Jake too," I say looking at her not knowing what to say. "Wow we have broken girl code now," she says laughing.
