The situation seems to get more dangerous than we thought. We started this as let's just do a damn ritual and now it's taken such a turn. My best friend is now some kind of magical being. These zombie-like beings are after us. Let's see how our next move result would be. Will it help? Or just increase our trouble?

I looked at Jack and asked, "Are you ready for this?"

Jack with a serious look on his face answered, "I don't know. Bro, it's going to get crazier."

"We were attacked by a damn zombie. It's already fucking crazy."

*Thump* *Thump*

I heard someone coming from behind me. I knew it was Mr Edelman.

"Mr Edelman..." I turned around to look at a girl beside him. I felt chills run down my spine looking at her amber eyes. Wait, she has only three years of left.

"I'll leave you all alone." Mr Edelman left the room with a scared look on his face. This is weird.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" Jack shouted at her. What the hell is happening?

"So, you could sense me. For a newly awakened vark, it's good."

I immediately got alerted at this comment, "Who are you? How do you know about Jack?"

She looked at Jack and said, "Jack? That's the name of the Vark of the wind."

Vark of the wind? Isn't that Jack's element.

The girl looked at me and sat on the couch. "I came here on a mission. My mission is to take the vark of the wind with me."

WTF!!!

"Who the fuck are you?" Jack shouted at her. He is shivering like he is scared of her.

"SIT!!!"

A powerful pressure just hit us, I am stuck to the couch I am sitting on, the same thing with Jack. Who is this girl?

She got up and looked at us. "Let me introduce myself, I am Selina Lux; member of the Lux family and a rank 3 hunter."

Lux family? Rank 4 hunter? What the fuck is all this? Okay, calm down Damien. Things are crazy but be calm.

"Are you a vark?" I asked. That's the only explanation, I could think of.

"You can say that." She replied. Okay, looks like she is not here to cause any harm.

"I will not answer any of your questions, any further. Now, come with me."

She looked at our confused faces and continued, "You will get to know this thing, in the future but now come with me."

"Me?" asked Jack. She smirked and replied, "Yes, you. A vark of great elements is rare nowadays."

"Rare?"

"I don't know how you unlocked your powers, but the population of varks have lessened now. The prana in humans is now so low that even awakened varks are not much stronger than normal humans. In such times, the birth of Varks is now considered a miracle."

Damn. Wait, does that mean the ritual may not work on me?

"Fuck this! I will not go with you." Jack broke through the pressure and stood up.

"Want to take this outside, I don't want to destroy the poor old man's house."

"What have you done to him?"

"Who? The old man? He is going to alright. Now, come out."

I don't know what is happening? Who this girl? What is this Lux family or hunter? But what I do know is, I am in danger and I shouldn't have tried that damn ritual.

"Hey, what are you waiting for?" The girl said as fog filled the entire room.

"What is this?" I asked. Everything in the room just stopped. I looked at Damien, he was completely unconscious lying on the couch.

"Sleeping gas. Now, come out."

"Damien..."

"Your friend will not die. COME OUT!" her voice sent shivers down my spine, it's like an instinct. Like prey and predator, I am the predator here.

I followed her outside. The whole neighbourhood was covered in fog. Is she doing this?

"No one would disturb us now." She said will taking an attack stance. "Now make a choice, either you stay here or get hunted by vampires or come with me."

"VAMPIRES!?"

I am going to get hunted by vampires? How the hell did vampires come into the picture?

"You don't know about vampires?"

"What vampires have to do with it? Vampires are real?"

"You seriously don't know? I thought vampires should already be trying to attack you, this town is under their control after all."

"That Zombie...." That zombie that attacked us last night.

"Zombie? I see you already have met a ghoul. It may have been a low-level one otherwise you may not have survived."

"Why the hell are they after me?"

"Your blood."

"My blood?"

"Blood of a vark could help a vampire to increase his rank. Ghouls are the lowest level of vampires, they are mostly slaves who can't rise anymore. The master of that ghoul that you met wants your blood."

Fuck! What the fuck is happening?! Okay, Jack calm down. There are more questions.

"What is happening to me? After the ritual, my body is changing."

"The ritual is upgraded your body. It still hasn't fully changed, your body has to rise to a superhuman level to accommodate the power of varks."

Damn. I am becoming some kind of Demigod?

"Come with me, If you want to live. No one in this town could protect you."

Okay, I am in danger. If I don't go with this strange girl; I may die. Fuck this, I am not leaving.

"Listen, I have my family here. If I leave, what will happen to them? They are going to be in danger."

Cracks started appearing on the girl's skin, her eyes blazing with flames. "Looks like, I have to do this the hard way."
