Alpha Ewe

Poor thing, he didn't know that the king-size bed he was on was admiring one of its body parts. Since there was no animosity, the baby didn't feel a thing. His only disturbance was the sun that was rising.

And each passing moment the intensity of the sunlight dampened the resistance of the baby's imperceptible halo. Gradually the sun rays won and the baby felt uncomfortable when there were direct sun rays cast on his face.

Good, Mr sun, disturbed it and made it move off my body!

The toddler opened his beautiful eyes, more beautiful than the sunrise. A strange effect permeates everywhere and affects all kinds of life forms, plants and animals. Including those that are nocturnal, that was those that sunrise spells the time for their retirement.

They all woke up with a serene feeling in their very core being.

This phenomenon happened throughout the forest.

When the toddler sat and yawned, the sheep was expecting a pee from its Priceless Jewel nozzle that was facing its face but nothing happened.

Is this baby defective?

Good, Mr Sun has woken it up, at least it should leave my body.

But when it gazed at the adorable face that was staring at her, she felt ashamed of herself.

Mr sun turn it down, you're bashing this young thing with your glare.

The sheep still desire for the baby to leave her body at the same time it doesn't want the baby to be disturbed. Unfortunately for the sheep, she was in for scrutiny by the thing she considered a human baby. From that day, she became his companion for several days to come.

The baby stuck to the sheep even after he met many other curious wild animals because he didn't want to leave the comfortable king-size bed.

He once made the mistake of following antelope for a day and he lost sight of the sheep. Sadly, any animals he met either were too small for him to sleep on or they didn't have a comfortable feel to them.

In the end, the baby kept coming back to the sheep for the night.

It doesn't matter how far the poor sheep ran away from him, at night the winged flying baby would always flash above her and slumped onto its plump wool and sleep with a serene smile.

That was until she chanced upon a group of elephants. She rejoiced to know for sure the winged baby was enamoured by them. After the baby excitedly began playing with the trunk of one of the elephants she began running.

The sheep went west where her herd might have gone. Hoping to reach them, she eliminated her tracks from being found by the baby.

Another reason was she had realized few of her herd members were missing and also many were born. Luckily, one of them seemed to be like her, a giant breed.

I need to protect that new breed if it lives my kind lives, or else I will be the last.

She was an alpha Ewe in her herd and the mother of most of them. Being an alpha gave her an extraordinary size way beyond her kind and explosive strength capable of going against almost all other beasts. Sadly, it was rare for her offspring to be born with those traits.

But that wasn't what made the sheep live a long life and become very old without being killed by stronger beasts or human hunters. It was her intelligence.

A fox-level intelligence that enabled her to command her herd and avoid almost all predators that she can't handle.

Yes, the forest alpha wild animals are widely hunted due to their special characteristics before an order from two nations prohibited large-scale hunting.

By the time she met the strange winged baby, she was extremely old to the point she couldn't follow the ever-moving nomadic herd. They have new alpha now, a powerful Ram. But he was no way close to her strength at her peak.

Even after she was old, the herd had an inherent instinct to wander and graze even without her but the moment they were being hunted by a predator stronger than them, they would always find her.

She might be old but anything that can't wipe out the whole herd at the same time she can fight it for a short duration before weakness succumbs to her.

You know, the bout of sudden strength to protect your family.

I feel stronger than my old self, my knee doesn't hurt much. And my vision I can see distant trees. What was better was, my heart and lungs didn't hurt much as I ran.

With the new strength, she felt the need to protect her herd again, her only regret was her pointy horns that were broken.

While the alpha Ewe was making her way to her herd, the one she referred to as the winged baby was frowning on top of an elephant.

The new bed was wider and it can even crawl around, but what annoy it was the new neighbours. White birds that come to sleep on the bed too.

He shoo them away but they refused to leave, one of them even dared to peck that part in between its legs! Thankful it was only a nudge.

That also brings it to wonder what was the use of that part. It hasn't done a thing ever since he woke up.

In the end, the winged baby was too tired to observe and ended up sleeping on its stomach to avoid any more pecks on his Priceless Jewel.

If Alpha Ewe sees the baby now, she will laugh and rejoice because halfway through the night, the winged baby was given his own treatment. A small white bird patched on his head while sleeping. The place was extremely comfortable.
