Who didn't want their wards to be married into the Montero Family?

Both the rich and poor wished such miracle would be bestowed on their family. These women were not left out. They might all be equally from prestigious families still they each had dreams of tapping into the Montero Family fame, status, wealth and connections. This was one of the reasons they remained friends of Claudia even if they might find her simple personality a nuisance.

It was a given. Not only was the Montero Family into business but they were also involved in the military and the government. The family's status one that couldn't be rivaled in the country. Even so Devon has been ranked as the most promising bachelor in the country. Marrying him was every girls dream and every mother's dream for their daughters. He as the Nations potential husband.

Claudia shook her head "sadly the young lady is just a friend. She is such a beautiful soul" she spoke a little about Gisele but didn't bother to go into details. She knew these ladies. Too much information would only lead them into investigating the young girl.

"You speak so fondly of the young lady, It must really be nice having a young friend. What family is she from? Only one of those famous scholar families could have breed a child so presentable" Stacy said once again with hidden meanings. All emphasis on the 'famous families'. She was trying to hint Claudia that for a daughter-in-law she should set her sights on families with equal standards and by that she meant her family. She has spent years scheming for Claudia to make her daughter her daughter-in-law. Claudia too had initially been showing interest in her daughter but this new girl... Even if the girl was from a wealthy family she had to make sure that this girl would forever be a friend.

"That has to be it. Nowadays there's no decent girl from the peasants anymore. They only pretend to be good but their just a bunch of white lotus. Claudia don't be deceived. Get to know her family first. An apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Darlene commented too. She was Stacy close friend so definitely she would help Stacy elaborate on her words.

Claudia smiled. She was a little offended yet she chose to keep her smile. How could she not understand what Stacy and Darlene were trying to say. She was indeed interested in Stacy daughter because the girl was calm and respectful, but now that she has met Gisele every of Vera's past actions seemed to be a lie in her eyes.

Even still, there was no point mulling over Gisele's family cause there was no way she was going to be Devon's wife cause Devon was already married. Still, there was no point telling this women that.

"Yes you're right." She agreed then excused herself. She had forgotten her phone in her room and was going to get it. Speaking of the girl had made her miss her company. That girl had forgotten to call her so she made up her mind to call instead.

As she left the women in the tea room went on with their discussion.

"Are you sure the girl is just a friend? I've never known Claudia to keep young friends" one of them commented.

Darlene rushed to comment too "She most definitely is. I'm sure she is only momentarily attracted to the girl. As for choosing a daughter-in-law we all know Claudia has reserves for Vera. It's only a matter of time before the Montero Family arranges a marriage between the two children."

"Yeah that true"

"didn't the two kids grow up together too?"

"aish Stacy is really blessed then"

Diverse comments of praise were directed at Stacy. A helpless smile was sprawn across Stacy lips but in her mind a clear frown could be observed.

Everyone thought like this but only her knew how uncertain it was for her daughter to get married to Devon. Apart from Claudia no one in the family had showed interest in Vera, even Devon who presumedly grew up with the girl rarely said any words to her when they grew. Plus who hadn't heard of the rumors of him being in love with a certain model?. Whatever the cost may be, she had to improve her schemes. She would make sure Vera got married to Devon at all cost.

Claudia was in her room totally oblivious to the conversations her guest were having. Finding her phone was her main concern at the moment. When she finally found it, she was happy to see a set of missed calls from the girl. She didn't treat her distantly after all.

With haste she dialed the number back and left her room with the phone placed across her ears.

Gisele was seated at the dinning table, prepared to have her lunch when the phone next to her rang out. She looked at the screen and a smile appeared on her lips.

"Aunty" She called out when she picked the call.

How could Claudia's mood not be lifted after hearing the girls melodic voice. A smile graced her lips too and her eyes shone in a doting light.

"Aish Xiao G, what took you so long? I expected your call all through the night. I was really worried" She complained.

"I'm sorry Aunty. I was out really late and by the time I got home i felt it wasn't right to disturb your sleep" Gisele didn't lie. This in turn made Claudia have a good impression of the girl. Everyother girl would have lied in order to appear innocent, but the girl didn't see a need to lie.

"There's no problem. I happy as long as I hear your voice. Xiao G it has only been a few hours but I miss hanging out with you." She really like the girl so she wasn't going to hold back in showing her. Even if she might never end as her daughter-in-law, she still would love to have her as a daughter.

Gisele found the woman's words laughable. It has really been only a few hours, how much had she gotten to like her to be missing her again. "Aunty's exaggerating. I'm not really that fun to hang out with."

"Nonsense! Who told you so? I totally had fun spending my time with you. Girls like you are rare to come by. It was really a blessing meeting you"

Gisele smiled wryly. Her real mother says she was a curse while an outsider says she was a blessing. How ironic.

"Thanks Aunty"

"There's no need to thank me. I'm only saying the truth. You are such a lovely girl" Claudia had gotten back to the tea room so her words were heard by the women that were still seated.

"Is it your new friend?"

"Let's hear from her"

"We didn't get to see her face in the picture. Do a video call"

Gisele heard voices from the other side of the phone. It was obvious the woman was with other people.

"Ah yes. Xiao G, there seem to be a post of us online. Have you seen it?" Her friends words had reminded her of the post. She had to tell the girl before she found out.

Gisele was surprised to hear that. She hadn't seen it so she didn't know of it.

"Don't be afraid, thankfully they hadn't gotten your face clearly. I'm just telling you so that you don't get offended"

"It's okay Aunty. I understand" it seems the woman's reputation was even higher than she thought.

"Invite her for the party on Thursday. We could all get to meet her then." Darlene whispered to Claudia.

The idea was really not a bad one so Claudia agreed "Xiao G, say would you be chanced to come with me to a party on Thursday?" Her Evie's mother was throwing her birthday party. Coincidentally she was also the Vice presidents wife. Normally the guest would strictly be influential people from the highest level of society. There's no way someone like Gisele would be able to attend the party but if she brought her along, she would be allowed entrance. She should just bring the girl along and have her mingle with Socialites.

"Thursday?" Gisele thought about it. That day turned out to be the day she had arranged with Mr Collins to get her shots taken. Based on the arrangements they made she was supposed to go round town on that day so she wasn't sure she would have the time to go out with the woman.

"I have quite a lot to attend to on that day so I'm not sure I would have the chance" She explained.

"There's no need to worry, the party starts at night so you could take care of your stuff and come out to play with Aunty at night" There was no way she would take no for an answer.

Since it was only at night then there was no need to refuse. She would go out with the woman even if it was just for a couple of hours

"Fine then."

Claudia was happy "That's great. The party starts by nine but let's meet earlier so we could go shopping"

"Okay Aunty"

The two of them talked for a while then they cut the call
