The Revelation

Ava ran toward Noah's lifeless body, her screams echoing through the house.

"Nooo, why Noah, why!" she wailed, clutching his dead body tightly. "W-why, Noah," she sobbed. "You promised me you would be with me forever. Then why, just why!"

Lily, also in tears, hugged Ava from behind. "Ava, stop crying."

"No, Lily," Ava sobbed harder. "He left me alone. How could he do that?"

Lily grabbed Ava's hand and tried to pull her away. "We are leaving this place. I can't stand here anymore, not after this. We are leaving, Ava."

Ava resisted, shoving Lily's hand away. "No! Leave me!"

"Are you nuts?" Ava shouted. "Do you think we can escape this nightmare just because we wish to? If we could, our friends wouldn't have died."

"I'm sorry, Ava. I don't want to play anymore," Lily replied, her voice breaking. "I'm tired of this game. I'm tired of everything."

"Why is this happening to us, Lily?" Ava asked, her voice trembling. "What did we do to deserve this? Why can't this end? Why!"

A voice interrupted their despair. "So, only two are left, hmm."

...

They turned around to see an old man, his face hidden beneath a white beard, resembling Albus Dumbledore.

"Who are you?" Ava asked, scared.

"Don't be afraid, kid. I'm not going to harm you," the man reassured. "That's not important. What if I tell you your dead friends can come back to life?"

Ava and Lily were speechless, unable to process his words.

"W-what do you mean?" Ava stammered.

The man smiled. "You and your friends aren't the first victims."

"We know," Ava replied. "We even met the last survivor who played this game before."

"There were more people who got caught in this mess," the man continued.

"What?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with shock.

"Yes, more than twenty groups of kids have lost their lives in this game. Only that Melanie woman survived," the man explained.

"Oh my God," Lily gasped.

"Well long things short...I was the first victim or my group of friends..

That was my home and one day we decided to play truth or dare, but eventually we thought of a crazy idea : to summon a spirit.

We used Ouija board and summened a spirit but luckily that spirit died in the same house while playing truth or dare, I don't know much but that's what it told us."

"Then? " Ava asked

"It was a mistake, at the starting it was all good and exciting to play with a ghost but then that things gave us a dare to kill one of us..." He continued

"What did you do?" It was Lily this time...

"What do you expect? We just stopped playing and burned that Ouija board.

But it was far from simple, we all died that night one by one same way as you but I'm one night unlike you.

From then on it is targeting individuals like you throughout history..."

He sighed...

...

"But how will you help us bring our friends back?" Ava asked, desperate.

"I can only tell you this one thing," the man said. "Burn the source of the evil spirit."

"The source?" Lily echoed. "How do we know what its source is?"

The man smiled again. "I think you already know."

Ava and Lily looked at each other, a spark of realization in their eyes.

"But!" Ava began, but the man interrupted.

"Remember one thing. Even if you find its source, you can only burn it while your third dare is still incomplete. If you've already completed it, you can't beat it. You will survive, but your friends will be dead forever."

"I think I know the source!" Ava exclaimed.

"What is it?" Lily asked, looking at Ava.

"It's the house!" Ava declared.

Lily's eyes widened. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm pretty sure. Right, sir?" Ava turned to face the man, but he had vanished.

"Where did he go?" Lily asked, bewildered.

"I don't know," Ava replied. "Forget it, we don't have time. We have to burn the whole house. Let's get going."

Lily nodded. "Yes!"

They ran back inside, determined to end the nightmare once and for all.

Outside, the man sighed. "Kids, you both are my last hope. I hope you won't disappoint me."

And then he disappeared....
