Chapter 30: To the lake

Ark and Sylph woke up early and got ready. The two did not do anything other than rest yesterday after their brief shopping trip. Once they were ready, they walked to the Police Station despite it still being before 9am, the morning sun was slowly rising into the air and the cold, fresh air that cleared the lungs of those that were out early preparing their shops. Despite it being early, the streets were full of people trying to get their early shopping as well as business owners setting up their stores for another day.

The two dodged and weaved through the crowd, heading to their destination without getting sidetracked. Eventually, they ended up in front of their destination without any obstacles on the way.

Waiting outside whilst looking at down at a file of paper, a stunning teal haired beauty stood proud.

"Good morning Jenny!"

Ark spoke to get her attention. Seeing he had arrived, Jenny closed her file and walked up to him, a gentle smile remained on her face the entire time. She looked at Ark and cocked her head in confusion.

"You do realise we are going to be there for a couple of days at least right? Are you sure that backpack is enough?"

Cold sweat dripped down Arks back, this was the first time he was asked so blatantly about his lack of luggage. While it wasn't odd to see trainers carrying just a backpack, those backpacks were usually full to the brim and pretty heavy, however Arks seemed light even from a distance. Calming his escalating breathing, he attempted to make an excuse.

"It's fine, I only packed the stuff we need, so I can travel light, especially if we're chasing down some beserking Pokemon."

Jenny thought for a moment before nodding her head slightly. She knew Ark was not being completely truthful, but as long as he had the necessities then she would not complain.

"Well that's fine, if you're ready, let's go to the car and get going"

With this, the three went to a jeep which was very similar to the Professors. The only difference was the colour scheme, the base colours were a blue with black. There was a classic siren on top of the Jeep. Although it was not that impressive, Ark found it a lot more suitable for the type of environment Officer Jenny would have to travel around in. The steep mountain paths and the dangerous forest roads are not something a normal car with generic tyres could handle.

"Get in you two. It's a pretty long drive so make sure you're prepared since the sooner we get there, the sooner we can sort this situation out"

He nodded to Jennys statement. Currently, he was in search of the tool to help him conquer the Pewter City Gym, however he would rather get this tool as soon as possible so that he can beat Brock before Ash. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as acquiring it, he would need to spend even more time training and getting to know the new Pokemon.

"That's fine by us, we are ready for this"

Receiving their confirmation, Jenny unlocked the car and the three jumped in. The Jeep was started, and they were very quickly on their way out of Pewter City.

"By the way, where are we even going?"

Jenny chuckled at Arks question. Despite the vague situation, he had jumped into it and involved himself without even asking where he was even going. It either showed a bold determination or a severe lack of common sense. Despite the danger in his choice, Jenny found it pretty charming that he was willing to help even without any information.

"We are heading South-East of Pewter City right now. It's directly across from Celadon City so it's pretty far."

Ark tilted his head with this new news. He did not have any knowledge about a lake being around that area, thus he concluded that he either forgot or it was not a notable point in the anime.

He turned to face Jenny but was once again captivated. This was the first time he was so close to another mature woman who was not Delia or his Mother, and he must admit that he has a major soft spot for older woman. Even though she was in her uniform, her beauty was evident for all to see. He clothes hugged her large breasts and slim waist. Although he did not like to always think with his penis, he found it incredibly hard to resist the raw mature charm that radiated from Jenny when they were in such close proximity.

Noticing a heavy stare on her, Jenny used her eyes to look to the side. Her head remained static, yet she was able to see the intense stare Ark was looking at her with. Usually her fiery attitude would have exploded from this blatant stare, even so, she just turned her eyes back to the road and chose to allow it.

"Right, so we are heading pretty far away then. This lake that were going to, is it famous or anything?"

Waking from his trance, Ark decided to quickly ask another question in hopes of keeping the atmosphere from turning awkward. The journey was long, so he did not want to make it unbearable so early on.

"Hmm not that I know of, people tend to just use it as a fishing spot. The lake contains a few species of water Pokemon but since it's usually such a peaceful area, the Pokemon that are caught tend to be pretty docile and weaker than those on the main routes"

Officer Jenny realised one of the reasons of why Ark decided to help out. Not many trainers who come from the Viridian Forest direction, will go out of their way to find a water Pokemon, so she was impressed by Arks use of the situation. His determination and forward thinking were impressive, especially since it was only yesterday that she had to lecture him on spoiling his partner. As the thought o0f a certain Pokemon came to her mind, she looked down to Arks lap to see the Pokemon in question. Although she was sat in his lap and that may look like him spoiling her, it was evident that they were both trying to restrain themselves. Sylph had not even attempted to snuggle into Ark or pull his attention, while Ark had not been stroking or patting her like usual.

A small smile appeared on Jennys face as she saw how serious they had listened to her advice. It was clear that they were now more serious than yesterday, despite only a day passing, their growth was impressive. The thought of watching over Ark crossed Jennys mind for a brief moment before she shook those thoughts away as Ark spoke to her.

"That's good then. I want to catch a water Pokemon whilst I'm here. I might need the assistance of a beauty like yourself, thank you for the advice yesterday. You were right."

Not forgetting to insert a compliment, Ark decided to thank her whilst he could. He knew that the next few could be stressful, so he wanted to just enjoy this small amount of alone time that the two would have on this car journey.

Jennys eyes widened slightly at the blunt but not off-putting comment before smiling and shaking her head.

"No it is all fine. Your bond with Sylph is incredible, but you just needed to balance that to slowly draw out both of your true potential. It's nothing but the opinion of old woman."

"Old woman? To me it was the advice of a kind and beautiful woman who wants me to succeed. It's not a stretch to say that I should repay you for this help"

The two smiled as a sweetness permeated in the atmosphere.
