The cautious Yuigahama

Slowly, rather than quickly, Kenichi's fingers tapped the keyboard. Considering how old this laptop is, the keyboard's sensitivity was a little off.

Similarly, this was a Japanese keyboard he had never used before, so naturally it cannot be used smoothly. 

Fortunately, the typing skill had appeared in his system attribute column. Although his system seems very mechanical and crude, it is surprisingly easy to use and understand. 

After a period of time, the level of his typing skill improved, and he began to proficiently use the Japanese keyboard.

He copied everything he had written in his notebook before onto his laptop and kept adding even more context to his existing content.

"This keyboard is not easy to use; I will have to buy an external keyboard later." He thought.

The next day, he got up early, cleaned up, and made himself a simple breakfast. He casually made a bento.

To be honest, he doesn't like bento very much. After all, it will get cold by noon, and most of the food will become less delicious after becoming cold. 

However, making your own bento is cheaper, and furthermore, when making breakfast, it's not troublesome to casually create a bento.

As soon as Kenichi went out, he saw Yuigahama standing not far from his house. It seems that she decided to go to school with him.

"Good morning, Yuigahama-san." Kenichi casually greeted her.

It was almost the same as when they came back yesterday, following him like a little tail.

Although she was following Kenichi, she still kept a considerable distance away from him.

So to outsiders, the two of them may not be together. So even if they were seen by their classmates in school, there would be no misunderstanding.

Up until they arrived at school, there was complete silence.

Classes have officially started, even though school only started a short while ago. At this point, the indulgence brought on by the last vacation has all but disappeared.

As Kenichi Hasegawa listened to the instructor's lecture from the podium, he occasionally took notes so he could record what the teacher said. 

Having said that, the instructor covered a fair amount of basic material; there were not many advanced topics. With his system, Kenichi Hasegawa will have no trouble learning this information, and he does not have to follow other people's example. 

Japan employs happy education techniques. In actuality, schools rarely teach much from these books. 

The majority of students who genuinely want to work hard in school and gain admission to a reputable university will opt to attend private schools or hire private tutors. 

Additionally, you must buy certain instructional supplies outside of the school at the same time. (A/N: Do not pay too much attention to such details; this may or may not be true. But do not forget that this is not the same Japan of our world but an AU Japan in an anime world. )

At noon, Aki would excitedly run to Kenichi and have lunch with him while chatting about anime and manga. 

Sometimes he would ask Kenichi about writing novels, his plan for his novel, and so on.

Aki is also a guy who obviously works part-time every day, and he has more than one job. 

It can be said that most of the time is spent working to make money, and he always had no energy during class. However, when discussing anime and manga with others, he miraculously becomes energetic.

Tomoya Aki was truly a different kind of breed.

It was not that Tomoya was the only one who loved anime and manga; even if there are other otaku who like the 2D world, most of them didn't dare to come into contact with Aki. 

After all, otakus and the like are mostly sensitive and care about the comments around them. 

Therefore, after coming into contact with Aki, he would put them in the limelight, and they would probably get the same treatment he was receiving, so none of them dared to associate with him.

Therefore, Aki's best friend on the surface is Kenichi, who doesn't care much about the eyes of the people around him.

In fact, Kenichi's situation is a bit similar to being ostracized and isolated. It's just that he prefers this situation.

He unintentionally caught Yuigahama surreptitiously staring in his direction while having lunch with Tomoya.

She was eating lunch alone in silence.

Especially because Kenichi himself was one of the isolated people. If he took the initiative to contact Yui, it would be easy for her to be isolated.

Her situation was not that bad; the only problem lies with Yuigahama herself. She was too timid and hesitant to join any circle, even though many of her classmates tried to contact her. She was a cute girl, after all.

There was a whole other side to her that he remembered from his diary. Given how deeply impacted she was by the last two events, Kenichi was aware of why she changed.

By three o'clock in the afternoon, school was out, the sun remained atop the sky, and its brilliance endured. He packed his schoolbag and walked out of the classroom.

He happened to be blocking Yuigahama, but she did not want him to go from her view.

In fact, as soon as he stopped, she would stop, still keeping the same distance from him, not getting close at all. 

Kenichi could not simply halt and give her a call. It would bring others attention to the two of them and cause some misunderstanding.

Even now, when he blocked her, Yuigahama still felt startled and wanted to turn back.

"I signed up for the kendo club, and I plan to practice there for over an hour every day. After school, you have three options: you can go home by yourself, join a club, or return home with me once the club activities are over." He informed her.

"Eh?" Yuigahama cast a vacant glance at Hasegawa Kenichi.

Hasegawa Kenichi couldn't help but shake his head. The Kendo Club consumed his money, and he would not simply give up on it.

She was lucky that she was Mrs. Yuigahama's daughter; otherwise, he would not be so accommodating to her.

Now that he thinks about it, why would he favor Mrs. Yuigahama like this? It was not like he was the type of guy to lose his head over a beauty.

Was it her temperament that attracted him?

Nah, maybe it was because he had sympathy for her after what her husband had done. That's right; he probably just felt pity for her. Right?

Sigh... Sometimes Kenichi feels like he is too kind.
