Chapter 25. Facing the reality.

There comes a time in someone's life when you need to face situation around you and address it as it should.

Shola have made up her mind to grant Douglas his request but with condition.

She was resting at home one of the days that Douglas walked in with his woman.

Shola... What's going on here?

I thought I made it clear to you that this bitch is not welcomed in my home.

Douglas.....If there's a bitch here then it should be you.

Threw the divorce papers on her face. That's the divorce papers, do well to sign them.

Shola........If I must sign this papers this thing here you call your woman must excuse us because we have something to talk about. And if you insist she stays then consider this papers not being signed.

Douglas told his woman to wait outside while they talk.

Shola.......I will sign the divorce papers but on some conditions.

Douglas......Let me hear them.

Shola....... You will credit my account with sum of 10million naira. 2ndly you will hand over the document of this house to me. 3rdly you will open a business for me that's worth 25 million naira. The estate you have in Lagos will be willed to me automatically. Once you do all of this then I will sign the papers.

Douglas......Is that all?

Shola...Yes .

Douglas..... I've always known that you are a golddigger but hearing this from you now made me to also know that you never meant well for me. You never even loved me, you were in this marriage because of what you could get. I will do all you said, just give me a week or two. From now on my lawyers will attend to you. I would be on my way now.

He went closer to hit her but Shola ran in , carried an empty bottle of wine and rushed Douglas to smash his head, Douglas full of surprise defended it and ran out.

She was still on that when her friend Jennifer called. Her phone rang severally but she didn't pick. After a while she decided to return her friend's call.

Shola......... Hello

Jennifer.......Babe, I have called you thousands of times but you didn't pick . Hope you are fine?

Shola......I'm fine now but wasn't when you called.

Jennifer......What happened?

Shola......That idiot brought the divorce papers for me to sign, thinking I will just sign and hand it over to him but I gave him what he deserves.

Jennifer.....Ha babe, what have you done?

Shola....... I gave him conditions for that. Me sign divorce papers without securing a better future? Never.

Jennifer......That's my babe. Now you are beginning to understand me. He's not worth your tears dear. Once he do all of that just sign the papers and leave.

This house is one of the conditions babe, he's the one to leave.

Jennifer.....Are you kidding?

Shola.......He agreed to give me the document to the house babe. He also agreed to the rest of the conditions.

Jennifer.......... Wow but why weren't you ok before?

Shola........ The fact that friends will laugh at me, me coming back to single hood I thought I've left. Becoming a divorcee babe and many more it's making me uncomfortable.

Jennifer...... But truth is Douglas is not good to you babe. If you ask me it's better you let him go for a better man to come.

Shola........I pray the better man comes quick.

Jennifer......But babe you stopped checking up on me ever since I went to stay with Phillip's mum why?

Shola........ I'm sorry about that, just that I was using that period of time to set my priorities right. I needed a way forward with my decision on signing the divorce papers. I didn't want to bother you with all of that.

How's Phillip's mum treating you?

Jennifer...... Babe she's sweet to be with. How I wish the son is like this to me.

Shola...... Well there's a saying that we can't get all we wish for. I learnt that from you.

Meanwhile you need to get your mind off Phillip for now, remember you are close to delivery. Soon you will carry your baby in your hands. Your case is better than mine. Oh how I wish.
