Talk about a trip!

Strangely after coming out of the forest and going into that tunnel it was just a cave with a bench, so we used it and went back to hub and found out that the next tunnel was open.

this tunnel, was different than the ones so far, I could tell from simply looking at it.

corpses of humans strewn everywhere in the tunnel, they were from different eras and universes, there were knights that looked like the ones from any fantasy type anime but I was thinking(and hoping) they were from Arifureta, there were Nazi armored guys from Wolfenstein: the new order, there were even some clones from Star Wars.

I immediately was corpse looting.

Hornet, don't look at me like that, these guys aren't going to use their things anymore, so why can't I use them.

as if reading my mind she simply sighed and walked ahead a bit.

unfortunately there was nothing on them I could take without Hornet looking at me weirdly.(no guns, no swords, no thermal grenades, not even any coms, they were already picked clean.)

I jogged a bit to catch up to Hornet.(my attempted looting took a bit.)

the tunnel opened to a vast canyon, it was massive, and filled with signs of what looked like an epic battle of grand proportions.

there were blown up AT-TEs(the six legged walkers), there were numerus wrecked mechs from the Nazis, and the fantasy knights, that with this confirmed that it was Arifureta, had many knights but also they were discarded broken black and red modern weapons all around them.

Hornet and I walked past all the wreckage and destruction, we walked till we got to the end of the canyon, at the end of the canyon is a cliff overlooking a sea.(the amount of bodies was staggering, like holy shit, Alucard would be proud of this, and I mean Hellsing ultimate abridged.)

at the end of the canyon I saw something that made me grab Hornets arm.

"what is it Ember?" Hornet asks concerned.

I don't say anything I just point at a symbol on the wall of the canyon.

"what is that?" Hornet asks.

"i-its t-the *gulps* the mark of the slayer." I say, terrified of the fact he was here.

"who is the slayer?" Hornet asks.

I steel myself, getting ready to tell Hornet of The Doom Slayer.

I open my mouth then-

...To be- (pff, nah just pulling your chain, I'm just going to skip a lore dump, you all know Doom Guy, but, spoilers for the end of doom eternal.)

"-and with a final stab of the crucible The Slayer brought low the Icon of sin, and walked into the portal back to the Fortress of Doom(name of the space station, praise be google) waiting for the next time he was needed." I regaled Hornet in the tale of the Doom slayer, from Doom(2016) to Doom eternal.

Hornet didn't say anything, she didn't need to, the weight of knowing Doom Slayer was here was enough.

Hornet was apparently looking at something behind me.

oh ffffuuuuuu-

"[Slayer, the portal is ready]" a mechanical voice interrupted my fear stricken thoughts.

I slowly turned around and saw the back of the Doom Slayer as he entered a blue portal.

I stumbled back a bit, and fell on my ass.

"h-h-how l-long was he standing there?" I ask Hornet.

"since you started." Hornet says, in an almost dead tone.

I faint right then and there.

...To- (nein nein nein, this chapter will not have a cliff hanger.)

I woke with a jump, and looked around, still in the canyon.

Hornet apparently was giving me a lap pillow(a/n so jelly right now) before I woke up.

"please tell me I was dreaming that." I pleaded with Hornet.

"dreaming about that very tall super armored guy with a voice that came from nowhere that opened a portal behind you after listening to you tell me about him, yup toootaly a dream." she sassed at me.

I didn't fire back, and walked to the cliff, I saw it was not that far, so I planned my payback accordingly.

I looked Hornet straight in the eyes, stood at the end of the cliff, and leaped back.

...T- (DENIED)

Hornet scrabbled to get to me, to late.

I was about three feet away from the cliff and five feet below it, I kept staring at Hornet.

I grabbed a branch on the side of the cliff.

...- (NO!)

the branch started cracking.

..- (STOP IT!)

I thought in my head amused 'Cliff hanger! hanging from a cliff! and that's why they call him Cliff hanger!'

.- (FOR F*CKS SAKE! CUT IT OUT!)

I suddenly let go of the branch 'I don't know why I did that' (I do.) and fall right into the water, its cold.

I look up to see Hornet doing an impressive dive.

she lands a little bit away from me.

as she surfaces I snark to her "so, how's the water?"

"just fine enough for me to drown you!" she says.

I swim away from Hornet, giggling along the way(guys can giggle, its not gay!), Hornet screaching at me to "GET BACK HERE!" ah, so fun.

this was a nice distraction from the doom guy.

I feel something brush past my leg.

uh oh.

I dive down fast to confront whatever it is.

(POV CHANGE: HORNET)

honestly that inconsiderate nincompoop, he almost gave me a heart attack with that stunt.

wait, where did he go?

I looked around to try and find Ember, but I could not see him.

"Ember!" I try calling out to him.

no response.

"Ember! this isn't funny!" I said, trying to get him to come out.

no response.

"Ember?" I was practically in tears.

a response this time, the water had some bubbles come up.

"Ember?!" I called out louder this time.

instead of a response or ember popping up, a metal island(submarine) rose from under water.

"wha-?" I was cut off when an opening popped up on top of the island.

"hey, Hornet look what I found!" Ember says while waving at me from the opening.

(POV RETURN)

I was quite fortunate that there was some seaweed that brushed against my leg, so that I found this awesome submarine.

Hornet began climbing up the ladder on the side of the sub, oh right, she doesn't know a lot of modern things.

"this Hornet, is called a submarine, its a boat that can go under water!" I say to her as she is about to reach the top.

"its really cool, it has a robot crew that cleans and maintains the sub, and-" I'm cut off by Hornet tackle hugging me to the side of the hatch.

"don't ever do that again!" she was sobbing.

"alright, alright, I will try not to find awesome machines while diving." I say.

"Ember! y-you IDIOT!" Hornet says, before bashing me on top of my head.

I fell down the hatch to the main part of the sub.

"hey look! stars!" I say before falling down on my back.

(NOOOO YOU DON'T! THIS IS GOING TO END WITH SOME SIGNIFICANTS!)

one of the robots sprays me with a fire extinguisher, I'm going to call it Dumb-E.

I sighed and sat up.

"yeah, I deserved that." I say.

"aye, that you did boyo." said the captain robot, A-Hab.

"tis best not to get on the bad side of a lass, lest ye be feeling her scorn." A-Hab says.

thanks for the life lesson, now don't you have a white whale to chase.

ugh, anyways, I go and grab the charm I saw in the hold.

oh well, I'll just deal with the angry Hornet I left at the helm.

coming back to the helm I saw Hornet talking with A-hab, and catch the end of the conversation.

"-and that's how you are to keep up with the youngun." A-hab says, somehow, I think that is very ominous.

"I see, thank you captain." Hornet says.

"so, what was that about?" I ask.

"oh nothing!" Hornet says, perhaps too quickly.

I narrow my eyes at Hornet. (JIIIIII, JIIIIIIIII, JIIIIIIII) (a/n that means stare, I think.)

Hornet sweats a little looking away.

(JIIIIIIIIIIII!)

I let up on my staring, and ask A-hab if there is a bench in the sub.

"aye, it be right over there." he points to the bench not five feet to my right.

ok, maybe I am a bit out of it, but I don't think that was there before.

anyways, me and Hornet sit down on the bench and I warp us back to hub.

I headed right for the same tunnel again, and sprinted to the middle of the whole battlefield in the canyon.

YES YES YES YES, YES!

[only one ability is salvageable from this battle field.]

NO NO NO NO, NO!

what the hell is this! the description never mentioned anything like this!

I take a look at it again.

alright, that is the one I wanted the most. (goodbye awesome spaceships that I could make with blacksmith power, goodbye awesome laser stuff from the Nazis, hello unlimited gun works, with infinite ammo.)

Integrate.

after five minutes of waiting, its done.

[Integrated, you may now change inanimate material into a different type of inanimate material.]

huzzah!

I headed back to the hub and told Hornet about the new ability I got.

...is, it alright to end it now? (yeah man, go ahead.) alright!
