You don’t scare me no more! Giraffe!!

Aspen opened her eyes wide as she gawked at him.

The middle guy smirked when he saw her reaction as he thought. "foolish cousin, you could have told her yourself." Ignoring their looks, he continued "well, as I was saying, the name's King. Juan King...long time no see, poppie" he drawled the last part as he looked at Aspen provocatively. Asher and Theo had similar questions running in their minds.

"they've met before?"

Back in class, Aspen couldn't help but get mad at her so called "bestie" for keeping that type of secret. Her worst enemy turns out to be her best friend's cousin! So had she made a fool out of herself the entire time?

'that jerk! I'll give him a piece of my mind!'

She brought out her phone and ear pod, as she was about to fix the ear pods in her ears, she saw Cyrus, or rather, Cyrus saw her.

"Hey Aspen!"

Aspen was caught off guard. She planned to avoid him but it seems he would always try to talk to her.

"sen.....senior....Cyrus....um ...sorry... I mean Cyrus.....what brings you here?" she asked as she stuttered.

Cyrus smiled at her cute behaviour before replying "nothing for you to worry about." He leisurely made space for himself near her making her mouth an "O"

Aspen asked herself why she was feeling nervous....

AR: of course you should be nervous after all, you did something evil.

Aspen: you sinful authoress! It wasn't my fault!!!!

Cyrus could tell from her countenance that she was feeling uncomfortable, so he stood up.

"I just wanted to apologise for startling you earlier." He said as he fixed his hands in his pockets. "did that guy hurt you?" he added as he glanced away.

Aspen sighed internally before she shook her head. Cyrus smiled and walked out of the class. As soon as he left, the other students walked in along with the next lecturer.

'damn! I didn't get to finish my coding!' she thought.

The lecture continued for four hours at intervals before the bell rang for P.E.

Aspen went to her lounge to change into her sports wear. As she was about yo exit her room, she heard Sky talking to his cousin.

"why did you have to tell her?!" he yelled as he pushed King who laughed.

"Don't look at me like I stole your girlfriend dude! You never wanted to tell her! So i helped you. What's wrong in helping my brother out?" he shrugged.

"Like you never knew that your wide mouth would affect my relationship with her!" Skylar grunted in annoyance.

"Guess what bro, I never cared about your relationship with her, infact, I've always hated her so it's understandable."

"Why do you hate her so much?" Sky yelled.

Aspen had heard enough. 'enough eavesdropping for today'. She spied at them from her furnished room, luckily for her, they had their backs against her direction.

'I need to leave without them seeing me. Plan A'

She crawled out of her room to the reading while moving really slow and yet fast. When she was sure that they had not seen her, she crawled to the living room behind them.

'Gosh why do they have to talk in the dinning room?' she sighed as she raised her head up slowly only to be faced with two handsome.....yet scary faces.

She screamed.

Back to reality, she tugged at her hair. 'that won't work she though and looked round her room for no reason and she sighted her purple ear pod on her cabinet.

"Stop acting like you care when you don't!" King snickered.

"of course I care about her! She's my best friend!!" Skylar retorted while King strolled yo the reading room sluggishly with hands in his pocket. "well , if you truly cared about her, you would have told her about our relationship.....tsk tsk I thought best friends don't keep secrets....right Aspen?" He added the latter part to hint that the subject of the topic was around.

Sky stood transfixed as he slowly turned to face Aspen who had an expressionless face. She simply turned around and left the room while humming to a song.

"She didn't hear that, did she?" Skylar asked no one in particular as his panic mode got activated.

"Why should I know? Am I Aspen?" King shrugged which made Skylar even more angry.

At the school's track field

"All right ya'll, you gon' be good today cus I ain't in for another round of 'f' nagers" The sport's coach who happened to be a black man yelled into the mega phone.

"in your groups!"

Aspen walked to miss Maurice's group-Track sports- alongside other students.

"Hey! Aspen!" Josh who happened to be a classmate of hers greeted.

"hey Josh!" she answered wearily.

"Sorry to disturb you but Skylar has been looking for you." He informed her making Aspen scoff before replying.

"well am not availa..."

"Miss Dawson, Sir Maverick! Thanks for volunteering to start the 800 meter race....now, Fall in!" Miss Maurice instructed them with one hand on her hips and the other hand pointing to the track.

Aspen sighed and walked over Josh looked at her apologetically as he walked behind her to get in position.

Wheeee!!! The whistle sounded and they ran.

At exactly 49.20 seconds, Aspen finished first. Josh finished at 52.00 seconds. Everyone cheered them on. Aspen smiled faintly.

'Can't wait to get out of here' she thought. Different students were called upon to run....

"Basketball?" a senior yelled.....blonde haired Australian meanie named Cleo.

Aspen rolled her eyes inwardly as she stared at her. Cleo headed for the Basketball ball court with her minions.

Josh walked up to her after having a fried conversation with his friend and whispered to her after which she mouthed an "O".

The female team just rounded up their match giving the male team access to use it.

Two lines were formed on both sides of the court, after all the formalities, the match started.

"the trindom plays soo good!

"yeah and senior C!!"

"they're on the same level!!!"

Some girls were taking pictures and videos of the match. Cleo and her minions walked up to a group of needs who sat in the front and shooed them away before they sat down.

"Yay!! Master King scored another!!!" everyone shouted. Cyrus who was tired of the game unconsciously looked towards the audience....as soon as he saw whom he had been expecting, he became active. He snatched the ball from his opponent who happened to be Theo and tossed the ball straight into the loop.

"Yayy!!! Senior C!!" the audience cheered.

"go Cyrus go!"

Everyone kept chanting either trindom or Cyrus.

Cyrus scored another goal, and another, and another! At the final score, he winked at her.

Sky who had been observing Cyrus caught the act and traced his line of sight to the crowd. He was stunned to see Aspen there. Worst of, she was red!
