Arabella woke up to the sunlight sipping through the cracks of the white curtain. Sitting up from the floor, she looked around the room and herself.
Why was she on the floor?
Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she tried to remember what happened last night. As soon as images flashed back to her memories, her eyes widened in shock and pain.
Thinking about what happened last night, Arabella felt dejected.
She wished everything was a dream, a nightmare that would pass as soon as she opened her eyes but it was not.
It wasn't a nightmare but a harsh reality. The reality she has to face alone. Though she didn't want to believe it, everything was true. It was true that the man she loved and her sister had played her for a fool. They had been playing tricks on her but she was too naive and stupid to figure out anything.
Arabella closed her eyes and mockingly laughed at herself when she started getting flashes of what she had seen last night.
What does she expect? A guy as hot as Ambrose to be in love with a girl as ugly and worthless as her? Impossible!
Heartbroken, sad, angry and frustrated. With different kinds of emotions stirring up in her heart, Arabella was feeling aggrieved and useless.
Why did her sister do this to her? Why? She just couldn't understand why her life was a total mess without any love. She had lost her pride, given it to the man she thought loved her but he didn't because if he did he wouldn't be having sex with her own blood sister.
She could see that there was no way she was going to live without finding out the truth so she decided to confront Adriana.
She stood up from the floor and opened the door, walking towards the end of the hall and to Adriana's room. She was just about knocking on the door but stopped when she heard Adriana talking to someone she couldn't hear the other person so she figured Adriana was on the phone.
Arabella was left in awe when she heard Adriana's conversation. How could have she done this?
She opened the door carefully and when she saw that Adriana had walked into the bathroom. She quickly entered the room and picked up the flashdrive which she had heard Adriana talking about on the phone.
" What are you doing in my room? " Adriana asked with fury immediately as she came out of the bathroom.
" I can't believe you could be this heartless. You're despicable! " Arabella said harshly.
" Were you eavesdropping on my conversation? " She asked tersely.
" Yes and I'm going to make sure Ambrose gets to know about all your schemes. "
" You're so naive, Arabella. Do you think he's going to believe you? "
" Yes, he will. After, I show him the flashdrive. "
" Are you that daft? You're still in love with him after what you witnessed last night. Why wouldn't you just get it into your thick skull that your relationship with Ambrose was all a dare he had to win? " Adriana raged. " He waited a whole year before he could get you to have sex with him. "
" W...what are you... talking about? " Arabella stuttered, taking a few steps backwards. So she knew that she was watching them have sex yet she pretended as if she wasn't there. She did all of that just to hurt her.
" Don't be foolish, Bella. Give me the flashdrive. " Adriana yelled, about to grab Arabella's arm but she was fast enough to take a run away from her room and down the stairs to the garage but with Adriana running after her.
She got into the car and ignited the engine, driving away from the compound.
So all they had was nothing but a damn dare. For a year! He had been playing her. Playing with her heart. Did he think she was just some toy?
And, Adriana.
How could she do this? After what she heard she couldn't help it but had to tell Ambrose about it. Was she making a big mistake about telling him what Adriana was up to? Or not?
Arabella was driving when she noticed Adriana's car following behind hers. She didn't know what to do and she wouldn't dare increase the speed of the car so as not to get arrested since she doesn't have a driver licence. She kept looking back to see if she was following her. Her car was speeding up to meet hers.
Arabella knuckles tightened on the steering wheel as she drove out of the highway and to a secluded spot, she pulled over the car and quickly got out of it, running towards the cliff.
" Arabella! " Adriana yelled running after her. " Give it to me, Arabella. "
" Do you want this, Adrianna? " Arabella asked, raising up the flashdrive above her head as she took a few steps backward to stand at the edge of the cliff. " Why did you do it? "
" I said give it to me. I won't allow you to ruin my future. "
" Your future? Come to your senses. This is no future for you, Adriana. How could you do this? I'm gonna show this flashdrive to Ambrose and there is nothing you can do to stop me. " Arabella yelled trying to make a dash past Adriana but Adriana was fast enough to push her.
" I won't allow you to show him. "
" You can't stop me! Mum and dad are going to see the true colours of the daughter they love so dearly. Everyone is going to find out who you are after I show the world this flashdrive. "
" You can't. Give it back. "
" I will give this flashdrive to Ambrose. "
" Why are you so stupid? No one loves you. Even if you show Ambrose the flashdrive do you really think he's going to love you? You're nothing but a pathetic plaything. " She'd said without the slightest pretence at friendliness.
" I'm your sister, Adriana. Don't do this. " She returned and glanced at her back at the broad river beneath the cliff.
" If you won't give it to me, I'll take it by myself. " With that, Adriana dashed at Arabella pushing her off the edge of the cliff, taking her by surprise.
Arabella quickly held onto the edge of the cliff before she could fall off as her legs swerved in mid-air. A tear made its way down her cheeks as she struggled to make her way up to the top of the cliff.
She looked up at Adriana who had a sympathetic look on her face but wasn't making a move to help her up.
" Adriana, please. " Arabella begged, her voice cracking as she cried.
" You should have listened to me. No one wanted you for Ambrose, especially his mother. " Adriana said, scoffing.
" I'm... sorry. Please help me up. " She yelled as her palms were sweaty and couldn't hold any longer. Though Adriana's words left some unanswered questions in her head, that wasn't the matter right now.
" Do you think I would help you up? It's better you die than live after knowing the truth. " Adriana said tersely.
" Adriana, please. I'm sorry. I can't hold on any longer. " She yelled, her hands trembling and getting weaker by the seconds. She watched Adriana take a few steps away from her, smiling.
" No! "
Arabella's hand slowly left the edge of the cliff as her body fell off the cliff and down to the extremely broad and deep river. The water splashed up immediately she fell into it.
All that came into her mind during this time was nothing but REVENGE.
Adriana watched her fall until her body was nowhere in sight before leaving. She was unable to take the flash drive but at least she had silenced her for eternity. The truth would still remain untold.
Had she pushed her off the cliff? Yes, she had. She was gone. Away from their lives.
At least that's what she thought.
To be continued...
