Distributing stats

The group were soon finished looking through their new system notifications and and now set their focus on the two dead beasts that lay before them.

This would be their food source for the next few days, leaving them with only the goal of building or finding sufficient shelter before all three of their primary goals will be accomplished for the time being.

The group were rather lax now with the new knowledge that the level 2 beasts weren't as scary and powerful as they had first assumed, and they looked at Jake and Lumen in a new light as these two were clearly the ones who had made the fight so easy.

In particular the group looked at Lumen with a few odd and curious glances as he had even contributed more to the fight than Jake and even managed to come out of it in the end completely uninjured and not even breaking a sweat, unlike Jake who had some minor cuts and bruises, with his breathing ragged.

The others went searching for large sticks and leaves in order to create some temporary shelters near the small pond, keeping their water source close so they could both protect it and use it to lure any other unsuspecting beasts into coming here when they needed to drink, to which they would strike once again.

While the others did this, Lumen made an excuse to go off in a certain direction on his own looking for sticks and leaves just like the others.

When he came back he brought more than just sticks and stones though as he also brought something that made the others a little jealous of him.

He arrived not only with a large pile of sticks which he dumped from his inventory, but he also arrived with the survival tent that he had bought from the system before he entered the tutorial.

The group questioned where he found it but he only told them that he came across it by chance hidden under a pile of leaves, suggesting it may be one of those 'fortunate encounters' the system had described under the quest description.

With the three goals being completed and the sun slowly setting, Lumen could only sit there in his thoughts as he waited for the rodent meat to cook with the others.

Everyone was engaged in conversation with each other while Lumen was busy looking at his status screen.

[System Store]

Not much had changed in terms of his stats, with his unallocated stats still being unused. He decided that it was finally time to distribute them and decided that his best course of action was to follow the distribution scheme of his class, putting 4 in intelligence, wisdom, agility, stamina, strength and endurance, leaving the perception stat alone for now as it didn't provide him much compared to its use for archers.

This left him with stats looking like this:

[Strength: 67]

[Agility: 67]

[Endurance: 67]

[Stamina: 67]

[Intelligence: 58]

[Wisdom: 57]

[Perception: 26]

[Willpower: 13]

[Unallocated points: 0]

He decided to put the extra 1 point into his intelligence to take his total up to 58, as well as making his total mana pool just a little bit higher at 580.

With all of the upgrades to his stats, his total health and mana now were at 6700/6700, and 580/580 respectively.

After he was done inspecting and distributing his stats, he then turned to his newly created skill category and decided to take a look at how much his proficiency had went up in his skills after his battle with the rodent.

[Basic Spear Mastery (Lv.1 6%) (Common)]

His spear mastery had gone up by a total of 6% from one fight, and Lumen didn't know whether that was a big increase or a small increase as it was the first time he had battled a beast and increased his proficiency so he could only see how it was after he gained more experience.

His basic footwork was also in a similar state with it being at 5% proficiency, still at level 1. Being a percentage point lower than that of his spear mastery, he could only assume that it was harder to train and increase his footwork compared to his spear mastery.

[Basic Identify (Lv.1 10%) (Common)]

His basic identify skill however had seen an increase of 10% just from identifying the poisonous plants from earlier that day.

From this he could assume that basic Identify was one of the easier skills to increase proficiency out of his entire skillset as it saw the highest increase from the lowest efforts.

His other two mage based skills were still at 0% proficiency as he didn't make the effort to use them in the battle as it was not needed due to the ease of the fight, as well as not wanting to display his magical prowess in front of the others before they had gained his trust.

As he was finally finished inspecting his status screen, he was approached by will and the others as it seemed they had something to talk about.

"Hey Lumen! We were just now discussing how to go on from now, and we wanted to come to a unanimous decision before finalising any things." Will spoke to him in a friendly tone.

"What he means is, we were thinking about having you on the first night watch along with Qu Quan. Your prowess in fights is clearly nothing to scoff at, and combined with her hawk eyes talent and archery abilities, we feel like this would be the best combo for the first night watch that would arguably be the most dangerous." Shivi chimed in before Will could ramble on anymore without getting to the point.

Lumen considered it for a second and nodded at their thoughts, thinking they had indeed made the right choice in people for the first night watch.

"Sure, that sounds like a good idea. I'll take 1 side of the camp, you take the other side Qu Quan. However I suggest that we rotate watches after 4 hours pass, we'll wake Shivi and Jake up after 4 hours in order to switch shifts. This will be the best situation for now as we are all tired and we can't have two of our combatants running on no sleep for 2 days." Lumen replied back, agreeing to their idea but not before pointing out a large flaw in it and suggesting an alternative.

The other four seemed to have a look of realisation on their faces as they embarrassedly agreed with his new plan. They had failed to consider that the two who watched at night would also need sleep, making fools of themselves for forgetting this fact.
