Genesis

Pit-pat-pit-pat. On a rainy day, a boy was seen sitting on the roof of an apartment building.

"Sigh, I have finished college somehow. Now, I have to hunt for a job; otherwise, the money I have saved from my part-time job won't be enough to live for long."

He had a family consisting of his father, mother, and a big brother, and he was very much loved by his family ever since he was born.

His earliest memories were filled with warmth and affection. His mother's gentle lullabies soothed him to sleep, while his father's strong, comforting presence made him feel safe and secure.

His big brother, just a few years older, was his constant companion and protector, always ready to make him laugh or shield him from the world's small dangers.

But his life became hell when his parents and brother died in a car accident, making him an orphan at the age of two.

The accident was a brutal and sudden tragedy that shattered his young world. One moment, he was surrounded by the loving embrace of his family, and the next, he was alone in the world, too young to fully comprehend the magnitude of his loss. 

They were going to a different city and left him in the care of his relatives. After learning the news of his mother and father dying, the relatives began plotting to steal the inheritance left for him by his parents. 

But because of his age, they couldn't do anything about it.

So, they left him in an orphanage. His parents had left a good amount of money for him so he could go to a good school and university.

After he was sent to an orphanage, he didn't make any friends due to his bad experiences, and he was often bullied. He was close to only one girl; she was sweet and protected him from the bullies, treating him like her own younger brother.

Alas, all good things must come to an end. Before even a full year was over after Ling Tian got to the orphanage, she found a caring couple who were looking to adopt a daughter, and they adopted her.

All he could do was wish his best to this sister of his who took good care of him. Afterward, his bad days started again, the bullies got back to their work and made his life even more miserable.

His days in school were also miserable because the school bullies never left him in peace. Since they knew he was an orphan and couldn't do anything, they became even more rampant.

Because of them, no one wanted to be his friend. But he never once thought of giving up or committing suicide even at that young age.

Just like this, his life continued to pass, and he cleared high school and made a girlfriend during his time at university while he was doing a part-time job. 

She was a pretty lady with brown hair and fair skin. She was sweet to him and worked at the same place as he did.

The first time they met, Ling Tian was pretty nervous to talk with her because of his past. He gathered his courage and walked up to her.

"H-Hello there, I'm Ling Tian. I work here part-time, and I haven't seen you here before."

The girl smiled at him and extended her hand for a handshake.

"Hello, my name is Xi Ying, and yes, I just started working here today."

Ling Tian's back was sweating cold due to such close contact with a woman. He never had any interaction with women before because no one wanted to get close to him, and this was the first time a girl took the initiative to extend her hand for a greeting.

He smiled nervously at her, and she was also watching him with a smile. She started saying, "Umm, my han-"

Before she finished saying the whole sentence, Ling Tian took his hand back and smiled at her embarrassingly.

"H-haha, sorry, I spaced out all of a sudden."

From there, the two started to interact more and got closer as time passed.

After 6 months, Ling Tian gathered the courage to confess. He invited her to a fancy dinner place afterwards from his savings. After having dinner, he asked her out. He got on one knee and started talking while extending his hand.

"We have known each other for over half a year now, and the time I spent with you was the most colourful time of my life. Will you go out with me?"

Swoosh!!

He felt as if the whole world stopped moving all of a sudden. His heart was beating wildly, waiting for her response, and even his back was drenched in sweat due to his nervousness.

After what felt like an eternity, she finally stood up and gave him the sweetest smile he could imagine, and all his nervousness was gone. She extended her hand and placed it upon his hand while saying,

"Yes, I would love to be in a relationship with you."

From there started his happy life, which continued for two years until that fateful day when his girlfriend of two years left him just like that for a rich guy. Just like this, the cycle of misfortune continued until he was here.

He stared at the abyss-like sky, which was raining heavily. After staring at the sky for some time, he said something that could even anger gods.

"Heh, Even the damn heavens are mocking my miserable fate."

KABOOM!!

Just then, a bolt of lightning struck on top of the man who was sitting on the rooftop. Time seemed to have stopped just before he died as he started thinking.

'WHAT??? This is how I will die?? I haven't even accomplished anything yet!! I haven't even done it with my girlfriend. Fuck you heavens!! Curse you with my miserable fate! I, Ling Tian, never expected that I would die lik-'

His thoughts stopped abruptly as a powerful surge of electricity coursed through his body. The shock was fatal, and his life ended in an instant. 

As his physical form crumpled to the ground, his soul detached and began its ethereal journey toward the six paths of the universe, destined for reincarnation.

BOOOOOM!!!!

An unexpected and violent explosion erupted during his transit, tearing through the fabric of reality, space-time, and shattering dimensions. 

The resulting chaos was beyond comprehension; even Immortals and Gods would have been horrified by the magnitude of the destruction. 

The damage was so immense that even the higher planes of existence which stayed beyond the Great Dao Plane were about to be destroyed, yet contained by a mysterious force, preventing it from spreading beyond a few hundred light-years. Despite the turmoil, the universe itself remained intact.

Suddenly, a luminous hand emerged from the realm beyond, radiating a divine light. This hand, imbued with unfathomable power, began to repair the damage with astonishing speed. It was as if the very origin of the universe was rewinding to mend the ruptures. 

The being responsible for this miraculous act did so with a mere flip of its palm, demonstrating a level of power that defied comprehension. 

If not for this intervention, the catastrophic rift in space-time could have reduced not only the universe but also the Great Dao Plane and higher planes to chaotic dust.

Due to Ling Tian's soul being in the center of such an explosion, it should have been annihilated together with the void, but due to the grace of that supreme being, his soul wasn't even touched. 

Alas, it seemed to take pity on his soul, bringing him back to his place of origin. But it was also a supreme being, so even though it brought him here, it wouldn't do anything else. That being said,

"This is also this little guy's great fortune, anyways he will leave when his soul can't bear it any longer here."

Thinking like this, the being goes back to its wish of looking for someone worthy to be with it. Like this, the days continued to pass, and it turned into years. After ten years, the being said,

"He is a little interesting, he can stay here for 10 years."

The being got curious and looked through the past of Yuan Ling Tian.

"Oh, he was a mere mortal before his death, he was even lower than the cultivators from Astral planes, and he can still withstand the tempering of the energy here."

The being then lost interest in him and continued its search. A hundred Years passed this time,

"He is still here, he is truly impressive for a mere mortal if he was born in a higher realm, he would have reached the Eternal Plane at least."

Like this, time continued to pass and ten thousand years have passed,

"He would be able to dominate the myriad of higher planes with this potential in the future. Maybe he can-"

The being started to have wild thoughts about finally finding someone worthy, but then it laughed at its absurd thoughts. 

The being shifted its focus elsewhere. Eons continued to pass, then epoch, and the being finally decided that no one can be above this mortal human in terms of worthiness for itself.

"I have been observing him for who knows how long in this dimension, and his soul still shows no sign of weakness after all this time, and doesn't look like his soul will be going out."

The being decided that it should still test the being to see how he would fare in the higher world.

"I shall see how you do in that world, and if you are truly worthy of me or not."

Then the supreme being separated the void and took the soul into a realm that was even above the Eternal Plane.

"I shall just sleep in his sea of consciousness, till the time for him to be reborn comes."
