Toxic Hearts

I stared at the alter deep in thoughts, when I heard the trumpet. Sudden silence all over the church, you could hear a pin drop. The sound of footsteps, his footsteps; echoed around the place. I looked away from the floor i'd already spent 5 minutes studying, and saw a man, if not an angel; staring intently at me. He had the most beautiful gray eyes, like a void you could get sucked into if you looked at for just even a second; and for some reason I didn't want to look away. The most pale and beautiful skin I had ever seen, and that beautiful dark ash coloured hair that graced his already stunning face. I was crossed on whether he looked like an angelic devil or a devilish angel.

Where is the king?

It finally reached morning and Aliya looked like a zombie that was deprived from eating brains. The night had been a crazy long night for her, being that she couldn't get any sleep since he left. Any time she closed her eyes she saw his beautiful face staring down at her.

She stood up from the bed and went to the human-sized mirror, screaming her lungs out. Her cheek was the brightest shade of red as scenes of the previous night made its way into her brain again.

The maids being alerted from the way she screamed rushed into the room looking for any intruder.

"Are you alright your highness?." Her personal maid Ruby asked.

"Ah yes, I just caught view of a spider." She said. "Nothing to worry about."

"Um okay ma'am." Ruby said, as she looked around the room searching for the spider. "Since your awake, i'll start the preparation for your bath."

"Yes go ahead." Aliya responded.

They finished dressing her up, she wore a beautiful lavender dress with light makeup that complemented her skin tone.

Ruby escorted her to a beautiful dining hall, with high ceilings. The walls were elegantly decorated with moldings and luxurious wallpaper. The long dining table was made of the finest mahogany, polished to a rich, deep sheen. The table was set with exquisite china, Crystal glassware, and gleaming silverware, ready to host a lavish feast. A beautiful chandelier that bathed the room in a soft glow, it casted a warm and inviting ambiance.

Aliya was awestruck by the astonishing dining, the one back in her home was nothing compared to what she was looking at. She saw a man sitting in the dining. He had pretty almond coloured long hair, packed in a man bun. With brown eyes and a beautiful chiseled face. The man stood and gave her a small bow.

"Good day your highness, I am his majesty the king trusty courtier. Zelden Everly." He said.

Aliya responded by giving him a nod and a smile.

He looked like he was in his early twenties; probably a few years older than her. His height was 6 feet and 3 inches, he had a nice physique, but of course to her he was nowhere close to Xavier.

"I was sent by the king to give you a little tour around the castle and to introduce you to your personal guard." He said softly.

"May I ask where the king might be?." She said
